We should be concerned when it's game 3 in the regular season and the defense is still NOT showing up. Will the McDermott Defense Force please stand up if that happens?

I said it after the first preseason game that I think, and the race and battle isn’t over, but I think Shavers has edged his way ahead in this battle. And I was pretty confident Moore was going to make this roster prior to that, but I think Shavers is doing everything he can to change that.

Shavers & Wilkerson have impressed me more than Samuel & Moore. And the more I watch Bishop fail, the more sad I get re: we could've used that pick to get BTJ.

They had the chance to let him walk and could picked up one of the top safeties in the draft. But here we are.

I must admit that I thought Elijah Moore was a lock to make the roster when he was signed...now I am not so sure. Granted we have not seen him on the field with Josh Allen in a game, but I haven't seen anything from him in camp or in the games. I really thought he was going to make the most of this opportunity, but if Samuel is healthy, he has a legitimate chance of losing the final receiver spot to Shavers. Thoughts??

Why do people still think this matters in 2025? We could make the cap space to sign anyone we wanted, if we wanted.

It's the 51st largest metro though, and when you consider the proximity to other significant cities it's not nearly as small a market as people make it out to be.

Love your avatar! ...Agree Safety is a mess and they have to be looking. Hamlin needs to be sent packing now so he has a chance to catch on if anybody wants him. Can either Hyde or Poyer be a worse pickup at this point. (?) with Milano being a FA after this season I thought they'd draft a replacement, not.

He might be the best of what's around.

Hamlin will be the starter. McDermott loves him. He understands the complex McDermott system Who else do we have ? Cole Bishop?

I agree that these backups looked horrid tonight and if this was our starting team, we'd be cooked. However, hopefully these guys don't see the field, and if they do, they all don't see the field at once. Safety is very concerning, though.

In retrospect, I wish I had spent those three hours of my life doing something else - cleaning garbage cans, getting my teeth drilled, anything other than watching that game.

It was… massively disappointing… that he looked like a liability among backups. I’ll give Cole Bishop a little more leeway as he was just getting back into the swing of things, but with Hamlin, there’s no excuse.

I definitely think the franchise qbs of today can go late 30s, where 36ish seemed to be the cutoff in Kelly's days.

I’ll say this about him. He does not contribute to winning.

Say what you will About him, but at least the guy plays and isn’t out injured every other game.
