11/16/25 GAMEDAY Bills vs Buccaneers Post Game Thread

Allen may be the only player in NFL history that can score 6 TDs but still feel like he left a ton of plays out on the field. Insane I said in the "Predict the Score" thread that we would win big but still have to go through another week of not knowing what we have in our team. 2 score win and I just have no confidence in our defense. That being said, the defense made the stops late to lock up the game. So, I don't know... ... Superbowl, I guess. -
This didn't change my perception that this isn't a Super Bowl team one iota. It's always fun to get a win. But this was a Tampa Bay team that lost their WR1 in Mike Evans a month ago. Today they were also down Chris Godwin, as well as their star RB Bucky Irving. And they still ran for over 200 yards with an Undrafted Syracuse RB. They still gave up 32 points to a team that beat up. While it was certainly encouraging to see the passing game look better than it has since Week 1 with Gabe Davis interjected, Josh Palmer returning from injury, and Tyrell Shavers getting a bigger role - it's important to know that the Buccaneers have the leagues 24th ranked Pass Defense. They also play their Safeties pretty low, which offers more opportunities deep (as Gabe pointed out Post Game). Long story short, it was good to get the win. But I don't consider the Buccaneers, especially the team they were fielding today, to be a Super Bowl contending team. And it was a battle until the very end. Though I'd love to be wrong, I still don't believe this team is built to actually defeat the leagues best, at their best.

Poyer and Hyde were signed before Beane arrived. He doesn't get credit for signing them. I'm not trying to say Beane hasn't had any good FA signings. Rapp was a good acquisition even if he does have a proclivity for "friendly fire". Ty Johnson. But let's look again at the statement I was agreeing with... "My complaint about Bean is more about his roster structure and FA acquisitions. He's part of the decision process that favors the D and didn't see a need to replace Diggs/Davis with an equally productive pair of WR's." I'll give Beane full credit for Beasley and Brown, though he failed to adequately replace either (Manny Sands was gimped up and Crowder/McKensie was a disaster. I'll give him credit for Diggs, too, though people who look at Justin Jefferson will give us both the side-eye....and I don't think a GM ought to boast on a guy he eats $30M of dead cap just to get him off the team. The point being made was that Beane favors the D in his drafting AND in his FA acquisitions, and that he failed to adequately replace Diggs and Gabe Davis. I don't think that last is arguable. You can argue the first depending on how you slice it. You're absolutely right that losing Landon Jackson and Dwayne Carter, not to mention Ed Oliver and Michael Hoecht, huge blow to the D. -
Will the Bills Win another game on the Road this season?

Gonna be so freakin pissed if somehow Chase can't play against the Patriots next -
Hondo, I agree the said receivers did well, but Shakir was playing wounded, and this was Palmer’s first game back. I like the idea of Palmer, Davis, and Shakir, with an alternating Shavers, and for god’s sake, keep Coleman off the field. Knox btw was open many times and Josh just didn’t tag him more than once. Lastly, I also like that Davis and TJ were more involved. Keeps you’re opponent in check if they don’t know who is making the donuts.

It's a little alarming but teams are throwing insane exotic stuff at our oline trying to do anything to create confusion... -

His pro personnel acquisitions have been lacking ... There was a time when they hit with Beasley Brown diggs .. All were pro personnel acquisitions We brought poyer and hyde pro personnel acquisitions... We were bringing in guys who became pro bowl talents in our scheme... That just hasn't been so recently It doesn't help when back to back third round picks shelfed.. Landon lasted 2 series.. Dwayne Carter done Both were supposed to be a part of our rotation but are gone for the year... There's only so much you can overcome as a team especially when our front has been decimated -

Something interesting was said on the broadcast today....Allen had been sacked (11 mins left in 2nd Q) 20 times this year, and he was only sacked 19 ALL of 2024.....that's kind of alarming. His Int%, Completion %, and QBR are higher than career wise, and his rushing is about on pace. So what's the issue and reason for this? Receivers not getting open, right? I can't think of anything else but found that stat alarming. -
Shakir has been in a slump. I don't know if Brady wants to throw the ball to Shakir only at the LoS.

I just watched Dawkins interview. That's not what Dion said. He said "let's just say that this is the last time, and move on". It seems pretty clear to me that by "last time", Dawkins meant "last time you make that mistake (showing up to meeting late or missing meeting, whatever he did)" not " this is your last chance" Which I don't believe is something that one player would ever say to another. For one thing, players don't have "fate control" over each other. -
Will the Bills Win another game on the Road this season?
ganesh replied to DeepPass's topic in The Stadium Wall
The tougher part is that these games are sandwiched between ONE home (2 Road, 1 home and 2 road) before we finish two at home against Eagles and Jets. This is a tough part of this schedule for the team considering the current circumstances of the team...They have the ability to win all the four road games if Josh is focused and on target. Additionally, 3 of those 4 games are in cold weather conditions. -
I believe the Eagles are still the best team. After some shaky defense early, they have really stepped it up the last 2 games after their bye. Denver’s defense may be the best in the AFC but maybe not be able to overcome an offense that just lost Dobbins and has an inconsistent Nix at QB. The Chargers are so weird. They change coaches, players, etc. but still struggle badly when they have to travel to the east coast. They’re not likely to be able to avoid a cross country trip and/or a game with cold and possibly snowy weather.

Who do we want, who do we need as our next HC and, or GM?
ALLinALLEN replied to jaybeezee's topic in The Stadium Wall
They've now lost I think 5 one score games this year? Last year weren't they like 8-1 in those? Forget the numbers but anyways. A few man games lost due to injury/suspension, aging Kelce, some weird OL issues (they paid league highs to guys that arent playing to that level), and I think it makes sense. W/L is razor sharp in the margins. I think they could lose to Indy next week and still run the table to squeak in at 11-6. Even with their poor play I don't see them losing more than 2 games which has them in the hunt at 10-7. Going to be interesting. -
