What's the first position the Bills draft in 2026?
Sierra Foothills replied to Cash's topic in The Stadium Wall
James Cook's backups play for the Bills... which is why they're his backups. Gibbs plays for Detroit which means that he couldn't have played for the Bills last year. I think you'd better get some sleep. -
I was thinking the Jets would start with an offer of their 1st and 2nd round picks for the next 5 years. And McBeane would just laugh and hang up.

Correct! And in response to your premise that we wouldnt have gone as far had James Cook's backup played instead of James Cook no less -

No, I'm pretty sure I understand that you think we would have gone farther with the Lions 12th pick overall in 2023 as opposed to our 63rd pick overall in 2022. It's hard to argue with that logic. -

I don't think you do Because saying we wouldnt have made it as far w out one of our starters is akin to saying nothing at all -
Now that the Giants @ Bills Pre-Season Game on Saturday August 9th is finally on the radar, the thought has occurred to me how on much effort I should put into this meal. Do I step up and treat it as a "real" game and grill some GIANT hand formed fresh 1+ lb burgers and perhaps some GIANT turkey wings or do I take a less effort approach to slowly gear up for the Home Opener against the Ravens? What are your thoughts? Obviously, I am NOT going to attend the game since when I had Bills Seasons tickets 2 decades ago, I could NOT even give away the Pre-Season games. Yeah I understand the Family Game is great for the kids and it is always nice to become re-acquainted with my American friends but it was such a long way to go for a meaningless game. Much better to watch it at home carefully to evaluate the players. Clearly, the first ear splitting song this year for each backyard tailgate will be no doubt this neighbourhood favourite...

We would have made it farther with the Lions 2023 1st round pick instead of our own 2022 2nd round pick. Got it. -
@AlCowlingsTaxiService Yes, in two consecutive snowy weeks in December of 1973 he made history. I was 12 years old at the time. In week 13 he rushed for 219 yards against the Patriots and then in week 14 he rushed for 200 yards against the Jets, breaking Jim Brown's NFL record of 1863 yards in a season and eclipsing 2000 yards... a feat never performed before and never matched again in a 14 game season. When he broke the record, he was hoisted ontp the shoulders of his teammates with whom he was beloved. After the game he agreed to a TV interview only after the network agreed to let him bring the entire offensive unit on camera... where he introduced each one of them by name. A few weeks later he gave each of his teammates a gold bracelet engraved with "We Did It 3088" which was the total yards that the offense gained that year... not his own yardage total. He was the first humble superstar and by far my biggest childhood hero. Gilbert Perreault was a distant second. I met OJ and Reggie McKenzie at the Friendly's Ice Cream shop on Maple Road in Amherst. He signed autographs for me and my buddy. He was very nice. I remember seeing all of the astroturf burns all over his hands and forearms. OJ famously wore no arm protection when playing... he said that by keeping his arms bare that he could "feel" tacklers even when he couldn't see them. I still consider him the greatest running back of all time and the greatest Buffalo Bills player of all time.

The Bills generate about 80 million in ticket revenue, less expenses. I just don't understand how that pays for itself in a meaningful way by replacing the stadium every 20 years. I understand it's an older stadium, but the build price of a new stadium is a very significant portion of total ticket sales over the life of the stadium. I don't think it's crazy to think that some other motives are going on. As far as fu money goes I can't think of a better price than an NFL franchise, it's not crazy to think these guys care about how nice and modern their owners box is, or that they want to build and design their own stadium.

We wouldn't have made it as far as we did without Cook. We might have gone farther had he played more. I could see Knox taking less to stay. -
Barely an NFL talent if we are being honest Good on him for earning a second contract

Well, all I know is we better pray Kincaid & Coleman don't bust. I still believe there was a path to trade up for BTJ. So what if it costs us Bishop (unproven) and a 4th round pick. Beane is a very good GM, but he has struggled on drafting the 2 most important positions to help 17 win it all. WR & DE...... -

I think Wilkins got a big extension too, from kissing his teammate's forehead... not that there's anything wrong with that.
