Hence my upthread post wondering if they should go get WIlson, Winston or Cousins?
-
True, the Saints, Jets, and Dolphins are all in the bottom half/bottom third of the league in offense. But, we still held them to their season averge points/yards per game or worse. And it's not like those teams don't have some very good offensive weapons (Hill, Waddle, Kamara, Olave, Wilson, Hall, Fields---running the ball-wise, etc.), they're going to make some plays. Some posters are acting like we got lit up by these offenses (or played them worse than other teams have) and that we have one of the worst defenses in the league. We are currently an average defense with a lot of opportunity to get much better (with the returning guys and the rookies and 2nd year guys getting more reps and experience). Opponent Total Pts. Pts. rank Yds Rank Avg. Pts/gm Avg. Yds/gm Pts vs. Buf Yds vs. Buf Miami 83 21st 26th 21 286 21 276 Jets 90 19th 21st 23 305 10 154 Saints 66 28th 22nd 17 301 19 298 So, we held Miami and the Saints to just about their current season averages. We held the Jets well below their season average. [Miami has also played: Colts, Pats, Jets; Saints have also played: Cards, SF, Seattle; Jets have also played: Steelers, Bucs, and Dolphins.] And just to repeat from my previous post (what billsfan89 was responding to), if anyone missed it: The Bills held their last three opponents to an average of 16.6 points and 243 yards per game, when league average for offenses is 22 points and 340 yards per game Season combined average for the three teams in question is 20.33 points and 297.33 yards per game. So, 16.6 and 243 is still better--Jets game skews that a bit though. But, just because we let those teams hang around a little longer than we should have in those games, does not mean that they lit up our defense. Though as I said, we obviously still have a long ways to go in the run stuffing department.

Are you bragging about following up after Deion? 🤢
-
Not unless something drastically changes. They have looked lost in their two games without Burrow and they have Lions, Packers, and Steelers in their next three games. They'll be at 2-5 by the time they get to a winnable game against the Jets and even then, I can't see how they can move the ball on anyone with that QB behind that OL.

Oliver coming back healthy will have the most impact to our success overall but he is also the one likely to be least effective if he's not really 100%. His game is explosive and quickness of the first step which depends on pushing off his ankles.

I know you aren't here that often but I am a teacher and 90% of the people I teach with a great. The "why would they do that" crowd is less than 10% of the people but they can be very damaging to a child, especially if they are helping a child transition without parental knowledge, which was an issue for several years. The 80% of people in the middle don't care much until you start telling me that I need to accept it as healthy and proper.

This isn't even representative of the professor's own work. It's an illustrative metaphor during an undergrad course to make the content more relatable, and he's clearly oversimplifying. This wasn't even intended to be widely shared by the professor. It's part of MIT's MOOC policy to make content accessible to anyone, and whoever manages the social was right that it would get engagement. Here's his research, which is related to informing public health policy and has 55k citations https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=c4FeOJQAAAAJ.

Isn't there a chance Burrow could return in January for the playoffs(assuming the Bengals can stay afloat)?

Bills asking fans to wear all white for the Pats game on Sunday

NO. -
How many points per game is this team scoring? Still people talking about WRs while the defense lets bad teams hang around in games…
-
Why? Ravens announced today that both Marlon Humphries and Roquon Smith will miss 2-3 weeks with soft tissue injuries. There is a real chance that they'll enter thein week 7 bye at 1-5.
-
RBs get the ball a ton while a WR can be open all day long and not see any action unless the QB gets him involved.
-
Dems: Get them over here as fast as you can! Tell them where the booths are.

Guarantee if I ever bought a white jersey, first time out would result in a huge mustard stain right between the numbers! 😂 -

Yes, I’m sure it’s all about the money. At least I don’t have to buy another new a subscription to watch those ugly helmets. I’m not usually a uniform guy. I don’t really care what they wear, including actual white on white. I’m afraid the desecration of our classic helmets disturbs me the most. It’s all about the money. . -
So if we can get one guy back to playing, who is it? I vote spencer brown, with Oliver being a very close second.

This is a Netflix thread, Ned. Look at me rhyming and *****.

I don't know why, but something about being fast and able to catch a football turns guys into entitled babies. It doesn't seem to happen to guys who run fast after being handed a football.

little soon for this. Its october 1st.

I mean even in my high school , best kids played both ways but we had 45 kids Erie county is not known for crazy big football team numbers... But whether you're looking at maryvale cheektowaga Central JFK Cleve Hill , depew , Alden etc a bunch of the smaller C or b schools Even Alden a c-school has 29 players and JFK like 27 If you start getting out into the sticks sticks sticks.. some small D schools.. you might find some rosters around 20 New York State high School athletic association says you need minimum of 16 to play but I haven't seen a 16-man roster in a long long long time... 22 or 23 is about the smallest I see
