This crew has been around too long, and been The Team to game plan / draft against for too long to be successful anymore IMO (hoping to eat crow). They've promoted from within and been together too long to come up with any new ideas. I'm terrified of the potential drought returning, but I believe that had more to do with liquid assets / contract structures, than it did just about anything else. Meaning, I don't believe we're necessarily at risk for that happening again with the current owners / investment in the franchise. So I say we need clear out everyone (other than Kromer). And enough with the Billsy mentality of "who's available that will want the job?" and think "Who TF wouldn't want to be handed the keys to this race car of a team?" It's like a dream opportunity! I bet better than 1/2 the current head coaches in the NFL would trade jobs today for the chance. So contracts aside (we can buy them out right and it doesn't affect the cap)...lets assume we can nearly call our shot... Why wouldn't we do this? (Hoping for crow!)

call me crazy but I do t think Josh and McDermott are a particularly good pair to begin with. and now it feels like a lot of the offense is a Josh fan club instead of guys that will press/challenge him It just has that “low positive” season lack of fire to win around the whole group

i do a sit down w mcd and ask him what he and beane did wrong, and how to fix it. brady is gone. I make him DC and HC, i get a top flight wr in (waddle will likely be available, but there are others too) and also draft one. I draft DE and LB and corner with speed and athletic ability. i clean out the dead wood (many who will go anyhow). i bring in a shanahan tree OC, maybe hc in miami is fired, i'd take him in a second. maybe firing mcd would be better, but i don't know who would be better off the bat, and my goal is a year 1 chip.

“Never adhering to doctrine” isn’t the slam you think it is it’s how a secular democracy works. No party is obligated to legislate based on one church’s rulebook. Acting like they should is pathetic and just lazy deflection. And speaking of deflection, spare us the moral grandstanding when your own cult is busy hawking Bibles with Trump’s name slapped on the cover for sixty bucks. So before you lecture anyone about doctrine, maybe ask yourself what “religion” the MAGA brand is actually selling.

And yet, with that contract he's still their second most valuable asset behind Allen. He's a top 30 player at a premium position and a guy one could easily see playing another 10 years in the league. The bar is high because Allen has continued to will them into contention the past few seasons and contenders typically have a number of elite talents. The Bills just have the one. Rousseau isn't a $40M-$50M edge but he is in a much different category than Bernard. -
I firmly believe we will get a Lombardi or two with Josh. And as much as I am one to not think making big changes works, it is clear some changes are needed: 1. Brady and Babich: neither have shown the ability to make in game adjustments. Babich to the point where McD has to take over D calls. We need coordinators that have the skill and experience to look dispassionately at the talent available and use that talent in the best way possible. 2. McDermott: he needs to realize the coordinators he has are not cutting it and bring in new ones. He needs to remove his ego from the process and get some proven guys in here, maybe even Daboll. And on D he needs to look in the mirror and ask himself if his D philosophy works in today’s NFL. If he can’t or won’t do that, then it’s time for a change. 3. Beane: he has to commit to doing all he can to maximize talent around Josh. He has to get rid of our older warriors that have had age catch up or simply aren’t cutting it (Tre, Taron, Milano, Bernard, Dawkins, Knox, Samuel, Moore, Coleman, Jones to start) and bring young talent in through the draft or free agency that add speed and/or size. Receiver has to be a priority. As long as Josh is playing QB we are a contender. But we need serious re-evaluation of everything around him.

I have Terry give me the money to being in the beat talent evaluators possible. I do as you said amd take the painful cap hit of a purge and depend on the draft. I emphasize upgrading WR, CB, Safety. I bring in an offensive minded HC, and have him bring in a damn good DC and trash the crap schemes we have been using -

Problem is its easier for the O line to blow up the guys next to him or on the other side. I still feel a true 1 tech in the middle eating space is more valueable we care to find. If you can jam the middle rushing the ends is much easier task because there is less routes to get away. -
Also a sign of hypocritical behavior. Dawk wants to call Keon out in effort than lays a complete egg last night? Key penalty on the last play? Dion needs to grow up. Didn't even have the decency to yell "RUN, JOSH, RUN" that I could hear

Time to Rebuild? Too Many Beane Holes.

Exit interviews should be interesting at the end of the season. -
I’d probably keep McDermott, but tell him he needs to hire a new OC and DC from outside the building and they both better hit or the runway is short. Restructure Knox, move off Samuel, Johnson etc., Let McGovern and Edwards walk. Get SVPG, Anderson, Grable and Lundt with Kromer all offseason battling for open spots at LG, C and swing tackle. DT: Oliver, Walker, Sanders, Carter DE: Rousseau, Hoecht, Jackson, Solomon LB: Bernard, Williams NCB: Lewis CB: Hairston, Benford S: Bishop, Hancock QB: Allen OL: Dion, Grable, SVPG, Torrence, Brown with Anderson, Lundt TE: Kincaid, Knox, Hawes RB: Cook, Johnson, Davis WR: Palmer, Gabe, Shakir, Shavers Priority #1 - Get Allen a legit WR to knock everyone else down a peg Priority #2 - Find a legit pass rusher or Bring Bosa back if that looks unlikely Priority #3 - NCB to replace Johnson Priority #4 - Linebackers Priority #5 - OL, depending on how they view what they have in the system Priority #6 - Run stuffing DT Priority #7 - CB Depth Thats a lot of holes, but only the Top 2 should require big swings in $$$ or draft capital. NCB may be a Day 2 pick. Fill in via the Draft and smaller signings everywhere else. New OC and a WR1 fix the biggest weaknesses in this Offense. OL may require a changing of the guard but these guys coming up have been with Kromer for 2-3 years now. Defense probably doesn’t get fixed entirely, but with Oliver & Hoecht back, plus a Bosa return or other DE signing, the DL has potential to be good. Walker/Sanders year 2. Jackson, Solomon, Carter are bodies but we have to hope they become serviceable depth.

Played around with the ESPN simulator a bunch this morning, generally this what I get: 1. Denver (14-3) 2. New England (14-3) 3. Indianapolis (12-5) 4. Baltimore (10-7) 5. Buffalo (11-6) 6. Kansas City (11-6) 7. Los Angeles (10-7)

The Bengals/Bills Week 14 game which was originally on FOX's 4:25 PM America's Game of the Week spot has been moved to 1:00 PM (still on FOX). Bears-Packers which was originally scheduled for 1:00 PM has been moved to the 4:25 spot. Kevin Burkhardt/Tom Brady/Erin Andrews/Tom Rinaldi will be on the call for the pivotal NFC North game with a lot on the line. It is unknown who will be on the call for the Bengals/Bills game though.

It baffles me that people like you never think of the fact that we have the greatest qb to ever play for the Bills when you say things like this. Any of the drought coaches would have won with Josh Allen, heck, one of them may could have won a SB with him. There is a reason that McDermott was recently ranked 15th as coach, even with all the wins you mentioned. He is average...at BEST. Any decent coach and GM would have at least 1 SB with Josh Allen by now -
By “kick it into gear”, do you mean one or two play off wins and then we are bounced?
-
This is a bad look. I wish our media would call him out here but they love the Schnowman persona too much
-
So, standing there instead of chipping a rusher or simply GETTING IN HIS WAY is better? LOL

Beane looks at players in a vacuum. If we sign this player now, it has to be cheaper than if we sign them when his contract is up. But he never factors in how common it is for a player to regress when they get paid or how much extra juice you tend to get in a contract year. I wish he would just let most of these guys play out the deals, get the additional information, and then make a decision. -
Remaining Schedule, how will this play out?

Because I understand what this team is -
We are all a bit upset, hurt and confused with our team. AFC East champs is quite a long shot now. We are 3-4 on our last 7. The playoffs are not guaranteed if we keep playing inconsistent and going win-loss-win-loss So public poll, do we make the playoffs or end up on the outside looking in
-
This guy... we like him,but this is a sign of the weakness and lack of accountability in that locker room
-
Yes, on the lack of self-scouting. To do that properly the D has to point out the O's issues and vice versa. I'm wondering if all this "we're a family" stuff is stopping that by not wanting to "point fingers". If they can't do that right now, they risk losing Josh and the players this season. I swear to God, my 93-year-old mother is bitching about the playcalling. She said this morning, "why do they keep doing the same things that don't work". LOL, THAT is a problem.
-
Yes that reality is starting to hit. There are 3 or 4 teams in AFC (not the chiefs ro ravens) who appear to have passed us. And we are going to start the offseason approx 30 million over the cap, 2 years after what I thought was a cap/roster reset.
-
At least we're not part of the "in the hunt" graphic yet. That would really give me some PTSD right now.
-
Fire Beane and Brady- and I’m pumped. I like McD- but if he has to go with the other 2 holding back the Bills- let all 3 go.
