I hope at least he's the blocker he's reported to be. If he is it's a great pick, any receiving ability will be gravy.

Wants to model his game after the MVP. Not his two uncles. Cut that meat, Peyton. https://www.newsweek.com/sports/nfl/arch-manning-sounds-off-bills-qb-josh-allen-2092019

Yup, and I think Josh Allen is extremely cognizant of how vital the running game has been, and Cook in particular, to his and the offense's overall success. When the Bills have run the ball more over the last four years they became almost unbeatable. When not, things get much less consistent. Dorsey's failures in that area were a major reason he was fired and why he cannot be an offensive coordinator in the NFL--and why Daboll will not be a head coach for long. He let Barkley get away! I think this is why my concern that Cook goes into this season without a new contract have diminished lately, especially after Josh's words during minicamp. I strongly believe a new contract is coming soon, maybe before training camp, but some time before the season. The last thing Beane, McDermott, and Allen want in the preseason and season is the major distraction that Cook-in-Limbo would cause. They believe this is their championship year and know Cook at his best, including mentally, is a vital part of that. My guess? A week before training camp.

House Passes One Big Beautiful Bill

We have examples in this country of how NOT to govern. All the right people are mad about the BBB - which is a tax cut, illegal immigration crackdown, Medicaid waste eliminating, and border security bill. Any polls you see of Rs not thrilled with it are 100 percent confused thinking this is supposed to be the bill that finally cuts spending and addresses the debt - that can’t be done here. -

You are jumping the gun. Real intelligence takes time. Your wishful thinking isn't intelligent https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2025/06/29/trump-iran-nuclear-damage-intercepted-call/ The United States obtained intercepted communication between senior Iranian officials discussing this month’s military strikes on Iran’s nuclear program and remarking that the attack was less devastating than they had expected, said four people familiar with the classified intelligence circulating within the U.S. government. -

Bad news for the fiscal hawks: the bill adds trillions to the national debt. If the bill isn’t for seniors (who will be kicked out of nursing homes), and it’s not for people who use electricity (it will raise electricity bills), and it’s not for the fiscal hawks, then who is it for? -

What do you think Ralph Wilson would think of these Bills?

Straight forward? He would be pissed that the rosters we have had over the last 5 years has not made it to the SB. -
The more I've thought about this the more I think (in my view at least) that it comes down to how the see Ray Davis. If they feel Davis can replace next year and not have a notable drop off then you save that money against the cap and put it elsewhere. If they don't feel he can handle it and the cost is in the same ballpark to replace Cook (be it salary for a FA or draft pick), work it out with Cook.

Of course you don't. They were out in force on Jan 6 leading the insurrection. So you're good with that. The FBI used to care a great deal https://www.fbi.gov/news/speeches-and-testimony/confronting-white-supremacy -

Ralph (and team) negotiated a lease that would make it impossible for the Bills to leave Buffalo. Toronto was never an option and that’s because of Ralph’s efforts. He would be thrilled that the team is doing so well (his wife is still there every week). Well beyond that though, he’d be ecstatic that the new stadium is being built and the Bills will be in WNY long after that last lease. He got his wish. -

I think he would be extremely happy for Buffalo and cheering them on all the way. Say what you want to about Ralph but he was a good man and we all should be thankful he was the owner of the Bills and kept them here. -

McDermott not in Top 10 of NFL coaches per PFF.
RochesterLifer replied to 14774's topic in The Stadium Wall
I've been following this thread with some amusement and bemusement. Except for the Chiefs, no franchise in the NFL has sustained the Bills' consistent level of excellence. It's really that simple and is the irrefutable indictment of PFF's top ten coaching list. 2024-25 may have been McDermott's best year, as we kept our top level of competitiveness while transitioning our core. Any top 10 coaching list without McDermott is not a top 10 coaching list. I understand and share the frustrations listed in this thread. - The defensive line churn. - The heavy reliance on Josh. Although our improved O-line and running game are nice steps forward. - And, of course, the still elusive Lombardi trophy. Honestly, I'm 64 with cancer - please win the go***mned thing while I am here to cherish the moment. Don't let thoughts of purity and perfection deny you the opportunity to enjoy this period of greatness. They create the denial of a happy life. -

Brandon Beane "might be the most sensitive GM in the entire NFL"?
FireChans replied to BADOLBILZ's topic in The Stadium Wall
I mean OJ went to trial and the Patriots lost a draft pick. none of that happened with the Bills. I remember you even said for Bills fans to not get too attached to that extra first rounder we picked up. But of course, we hung onto it. And you said the Carolina Panthers “complained” but I haven’t seen any evidence that happened either. Or that they leveled any kind of accusation. So again, maybe the Bills and McD carried over some info from the Panthers. It wouldn’t be that surprising. But now the story/narrative has taken on new legs over the years. - Today

McDermott not in Top 10 of NFL coaches per PFF.
HappyDays replied to 14774's topic in The Stadium Wall
For most coaches those blunders are things like "ah we ran on 4th and 1 instead of giving our QB a chance" where the thought process was defensible and the fan reaction was entirely outcome dependent. You're not typically seeing cases where the coaching decision was so bad that it effectively ended the game. In those cases the offending coach is usually quickly fired, like Matt Eberflus after the Thanksgiving game in Detroit last year. Another example to me was in the Ravens playoff game when we had our backup DL on the field for the entire final drive, which gave us no chance of stopping them, but luckily we got saved from that fatal coaching blunder through sheer luck on the 2PC. My fear with McDermott for a while has been that I think you need to win those moments at least once or twice in your playoff run to ultimately win a Super Bowl. I don't know if he just tightens up too much in those high leverage moments or what, but he has consistently failed in those moments in some pretty shocking ways. Some of the other criticisms of McDermott I can find some explanations, like maybe the defensive breakdowns in the playoffs really are just because of talent and/or injuries, but I can't find an explanation for those end of game moments. -
There isn't much that could get me to stay seated during the national anthem, not sure if this would or not. Fortunately I didn't have to make the choice.
