  2. A major malfunction in the liberal mind is they believe actions necessary to maintain a civil social order, like arresting criminal illegal aliens, are the equivalent to and consistent with acts of authoritarianism. They are not. And that anarchy is the equivalent of freedom. This is also a false equivalent.
  3. When you have a whale of a contract like Josh Allen's ($55mil AAV) on your roster, you are limited in the number of other big contracts you can dish out. Beane has said as much. If the QB was Fitzpatrick or some other JAG QB, I suspect Beane would invest more in the RB position--because he would have the money to do so. But the QB is soaking up $55mil a year and options are constrained. Cook might get $10mil from a team in 2026 and that team will not be the Bills.
  4. If Gabe wasn't paid big money, paying Cook that money isn't big money either.
  5. It is so interesting that their tack is that there are certain people who should definitely never be stopped by security because of their status. Senators should be able to rush the podium. Congresswomen should be allowed to push into an ICE facility. "No kings" indeed. https://x.com/TheAmishDude/status/1933265257050288492?
  6. If we're talking about the early 90's to now I'd pry go Reed, Diggs, Moulds, Lofton, Stevie, Evans, Beasley, Brown, and Price. I do view making the playoffs as important though with Lofton ahead of Stevie and Evans.
  7. And the Bills refused to pay Davis as well. That's a good thing.
  8. Yeah, I've been a little confused seeing Lofton so much. He didn't play here all that long, for one thing. Good player, but he was here at the tail end of his career to play a role.
  9. Over time i have come to this conclusion as well. When I go back and watch games, its remarkable how often he saved a drive. And as you noted, its not like we cant afford him because we are paying an elite WR.
  10. He was paid more than what some folks think James Cook is worth. His contract was a top 5 RB contract.
  11. It will be interesting to see how the secondary competition plays out in training camp this year. I do think we have a lot more depth this year. Whomever is our CB #2 and 3 on the boundary should be a lot better than what Rasul Douglas and Kair Elam gave us last year. Even if Ingram were to be #3 I think his experience from playing some last year and just another year in the system will improve his game. And lets not forget Dane Jackson. Not an amazing athlete. But he has always has had some grit to his game.
  12. Maybe it wasn’t the best plan to trust such significant geopolitical problems with a street agitator from Chicago that spoke well (while saying nothing) and accomplished absolutely zero in his personal or political life that should tell us - yea this guy is a great idea!
  13. Not trying to guilt you into anything. You’re an admitted fascist and therefore an enemy of a capitalist like me. No Bolshevik here but it’s convenient to attack against. Please highlight beliefs I’ve espoused that fit a Bolshevik.
  14. If early playoff exits are absolute failures, what do you call not making the playoffs 3 of the past 5 years? is there a word in the known universe that can explain that abomination? That’s surely worse than winning your division each of the past 5 years and at least making the playoffs
  15. No but I am going to question if you are judging with how you feel about one vs. how they performed. Diggs was one of the best WRs in the NFL when he was here. Lofton was a role player. He had 1 really good year in Buffalo (1991). He was 2nd on the team and 9th in the NFL in yards and TDs. Diggs had multiple years here well above that. He did that as the focus of the defense, not the 2nd best pass catcher. Diggs is an idiot. He was a much better player in a Bills uniform than Lofton. I’d love to here your argument for Lofton.
  16. Davis wasn't paid big money. Too much for what he was worth, but not some massive contract.
  17. Fair enough I thought the Jets D played well under Saleh, he's a D guru. Rodgers does his part, who knows...
  18. The point is not overpaying for WR's, where there is imo massive inflation for actual value, and instead using that money elsewhere where we can take advantage of an undervalued position. Better than paying Gabe Davis worked out for the Jags.
  19. Honestly, I think you've really overthought it. It's deep in the offseason. The logic reminds me of the year Levy took over as GM and he signed 15 scrub free agents because he said that the Patriots success with inexpensive role players was going to be the new standard of team building. The Patriots were an outlier. No level of injury prevented the Patriots from executing their plans. Because it turned out that knowing the opposing play calls before the snap really elevated the level of play. WR Troy Brown could even play CB when he knew exactly what route his opponent was running. They faked it til they made it and just before they got caught they loaded their roster. And Levy was left with a bunch of overpaid trash.
  20. How did Gurley work out for them? He was out of the league after 2020 and a couple of lackluster years. That's the problem with paying running backs.
  21. Well I disagree. Are you going to beat me up or something?
  22. I think James Cook is what makes this a hard decision. On one hand, I’d say that his relatively light load in college and the NFL makes him a decent investment as far as availability goes. conversely, that same low usage also speaks to whether or not he offers enough value above replacement to deserve the contract he is looking for. i think it is a rare case among running backs where fans/the bills don’t want to pay him not because there is concern he will wear down, but more so because his production is likely replaceable for less money. to put it plainly, I think most people on this board feel like ray davis plus a 30 mil receiver like DK is better than Palmer + Cook. im not saying that was an option, but as far as allocating resources are concerned, There seems to be a disconnect between James Cooks production and his impact (relative to someone else getting his snaps)
  23. $12.5M was my "Beane top number". I think Beane sticks to it. Cook will test the market in March and end up taking that deal. His 2026 cap hit would be manageable and in 2027 Knox and Samuel come off the books. That's the year I see them starting to push Josh's money way out too. IMO FWIW.
  24. Jerry Butler was great - it’s a shame he got hurt early in his career.
