I met Marv on the street in Buffalo 9 or 10 years ago and despite my shock I managed to say "There's no place I'd rather be than right here, right now!" I have many regrets in life over missed opportunities, but that's one time I swung and hit it into the upper deck.

Week 1, Nevermores v. Bills, PREDICT THE SCORE!
GunnerBill replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
Have to say the Allen stats v Baltimore over the last few days have surprised me a little..... he will need to play better than that for us to win this week. I think 27-24. I just don't know who to 😄 -
Maybe the most boring episode in the most boring season yet. Who needed to see those podcast clowns eating wings for like 10 minutes? That's 38:13 of my life I'll never get back.

Buffalo Bills Hard Knocks overall was a solid 2 out of 5. Pretty boring. Lots of PR fluff

Week 1, Nevermores v. Bills, PREDICT THE SCORE!

Ravens 35 Bills 17 McDermott’s defense continues the downward trend and gets smashed to pieces. Baltimore converts nearly every 3rd down. Bills tack on some points late to make it look closer than it really was. -
I guess time will tell. And nothing would make me happier than to be proven wrong. However, I’ve wanted Beane and McDermott replaced for at least four seasons now, so until they appear in a Super Bowl — I’m absolutely right. Maybe when you see a washed-up, 36-year-old Josh Allen wearing an LA Rams uniform and raising his first Lombardi trophy you’ll admit… “I guess Beane and McDermott weren’t so great…"

There was one, rather obscured shot of Keon Coleman catching a pass, and then another shot of Coleman asking someone if they were miced up. And I believe that was it for Keon Coleman.

Gabe Davis signing with the Bills (going to practice squad)
GunnerBill replied to Dablitzkrieg's topic in The Stadium Wall
Welcome to the world of #2 / #3 receivers in the NFL. That is the kind of story for most. Take Jameson Williams - who is much more talented than Gabe to be clear - broke out last year with his first 1,000 yard season (1,001 yards to be exact). Just shy of 40% of that production came in 3 games and he had 5 games under 40 yards. It's sort of par for the course for 2nd and 3rd option type guys. I don't think Gabe is ever gonna put up 1,000 yards.... but fully healthy he can put up 500 plus even if that is likely to be inconsitently spread through the season. The people acting like he is a scrub who can't play are way over the top. He isn't and never was, a difference maker. But he can play in the NFL. I think he had proven that more than some guys on our roster. -
Week 1, Nevermores v. Bills, PREDICT THE SCORE!

Bills: 27 Ravens: 30 Multiple turnovers by both offenses. The Bills stall out in the end and lose by a field goal. -

Yea that's my take they have plenty of options in the slot. I honestly don't know how much Moore is gonna play. I thinknafter a strong spring he disappeared in camp and if he can't work his way onto the field some then 4, 5, 6 weeks down the line I can well imagine them considering him expendable. -

Ty Johnson is a good weapon to have for this. He could either push Josh, run the ball, or run a little flare and catch the ball. I have a feeling he could score a long TD on a tush push play-action pass.

The biggest concern is keeping Josh Allen alive. Nothing else matters.

Why create a thread on "EU" then spam your own thread with twitter crap not even related to the EU? You are officially the king of of topic.

First question first: I'm guessing Ingram gets majority of boundary snaps opposite Benford, with Johnson of course inside for base nickel. For dime I'd anticipate the next guy out there being Lewis, then maybe Hancock when he's healed up. Once White and Hairston are also available, I'd assume we see less of Lewis or Ingram depending how they've played (Ingram has played some dime safety snaps and found himself around the ball). Really want Hancock to force his way onto the field early and often, and Hairston to find his confidence and flash down the stretch. Not sure if Strong even dresses most weeks. Could even see Jackson up week one, unfortunately.

Very fair that he didn't elevate the team, but he was a rookie. Josh Allen didn't elevate this team as a rookie. Our offense was 30th out of 32 that year. The best passing game that year probably belonged to Matt Barkley. More, wins are not a stat that you should judge a QB by, particularly a rookie on a truly crappy team. You judge a QB by how he played. Maye played pretty damn well for a rookie. I mean, I still have enough leftover hatred for the Pats that I hope I'm wrong, and he still has a ton to prove but he looked good to me.

What is your X-Factor(variable) for the Bills this year?
Thurman#1 replied to BillsPride12's topic in The Stadium Wall
How can anyone say you "see a lot of the same inconsistencies that plagued us on defense last year"? The season hasn't started. And the starters virtually didn't play in the pre-season. Plus they seem to want to show a lot more man-to-man looks than last year, making us hopefully more unpredictable The D is going to have, what? Four new starters and two new platoon players compared to last year? Milano/Shaq Thompson, Bosa, Tre White, Cole Bishop, Deone Walker and Sanders. And all that is leaving Maxwell Hairston completely out of it. This whole defense is an X-factor. And if we'd had Benford last year for the Chiefs playoffs game, things might have turned out an awful lot different anyway. -

Week 1, Nevermores v. Bills, PREDICT THE SCORE!
HappyDays replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bills 29 Ravens 25 All offseason I've been thinking Baltimore would win this game. As recently as last week that would have been my honest prediction. They have the better roster, nowhere you can really poke holes or find a vulnerability. Their offense is the definition of pick your poison. On defense they have a crazy good secondary and unpredictable pass rush packages that gave our OL fits in the first matchup last year. On a pure player vs player analysis it doesn't feel like this is a game our roster should win without the Ravens making several unforced errors. What's changed my mind over the past couple days is my growing sense that no one really knows what this Bills team is going to look like. Especially the defense. We made additions like Ryan Nielsen and Michael Hoecht, coaches and players that don't fit our usual tendencies. There's been complete radio silence out of OBD - training camp was boring, preseason was boring, Hard Knocks was boring. They have been very intentional about keeping the defense under wraps and I've come to believe that it is genuinely going to be different from what we've seen before. So while Baltimore isn't going to be totally unprepared, they're also not going to be able to glean as much from last year's film study as they might expect, and I think that plus the crowd noise in primetime for the home opener is going to create a huge advantage for our defense in the 1st half at least. Also... I fully expect Josh Allen to be at his very best for this game. Something that's kind of gone under the radar because he just won MVP - reports from training camp are that he's throwing the ball better than ever. Even at this stage of his career he's still tweaking his mechanics and perfecting his consistency. It seems crazy to expect him to unlock another level above what he did last year, but I really think he has it in him. This is his 2nd full year in Brady's offense. He has his personal life well in order and yes I believe that stuff matters. He's spent the whole offseason developing chemistry with Keon Coleman who also has been turning heads at training camp. I expect our run offense to be just as good as last year, maybe even better with the addition of Hawes. We ran the ball well against the Ravens in the playoff matchup - our RBs averaged 4.88 YPA. If we can keep close to that efficiency and not have our passing offense fall into a major slump like it did in the playoff matchup, we aren't going to blow the doors off them but we'll put up our points and force Baltimore to play catch up which is exactly the kind of game they are built to avoid. This one is going to have the feel of a playoff game. I still kind of wish we got Baltimore later in the season after Derrick Henry wore down and we got our suspended players plus Maxwell Hairston back. But if it's going to be early in the season, week 1 in primetime was the best case scenario. The crowd noise, primetime Josh Allen, new defensive wrinkles that haven't been put on film yet. I think it all adds up to a win that despite the spread favoring us will still feel like an upset. -

The biggest concern for the Bills going into week 1 is at CB. Opposite side of Benford was suppose to be White. With that said, with him still nursing an injury who will spell his name? Dane? Hancock? I think that the Bills may need to make a trade to solidify CB. What team would you trade with if you were Beane? I think I’d make a trade with Chicago for their CB (JJ). I’d offer a 1st and a 2nd, if the team seems strong at every other position.

Neilsen, it's been reported (was it Parrino?) looks during practices to be the guy running the DL, the loudest voice in the room, over Marcus West who IS technically the DL coach again. I'm really hoping the influx of some more assertive, demanding, pedigreed coaching can get that talented DL bunch attacking in waves and working together to win the LOS. Let's hope he can revitalize Oliver and help Rousseau to finally take the next step as a pass rusher. Maybe he can maximize Sanders and Walker sooner rather than later, and maybe even develop Jackson into something down the line. Bless whatever we can get out of Bosa. He should at least flash a few times here and there, hopefully in a big moment. Who knows, maybe Hoecht goes all Lorenzo Alexander on it down the stretch and something is actually trending up on defense heading into the playoffs.

Sure sounds like you are here arguing with Bills fans to try and convince yourself of this. But what do I Know? congrats on going 17-0 and winning the Super Bowl already. It should have never been needed. They had the perfect play call on the screen to cooper and he slipped and ruined the play. He should have been off to the races down the sideline instead he slipped and essentially ended the season. a damn third round pick.
