This'n. Plus, you put on five pounds on a guy his size and it's just not obvious. At this point, he might be having problems, or he might be right on schedule.

Who’s your defensive surprise of the year?
MrEpsYtown replied to Billsfed1's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think Michael Hoecht is going to crush it when he comes off the suspension. With Bosa and Landon Jackson and such I kind of almost forgot about him. He will be all over the field making plays and will be a shot in the arm for the team. He should be fresh and hungry with something to prove. -
Kincaid had a chance to change the narrative of his career on fourth down against the Chiefs. His failure in that pivotal moment was further proof he is not the unicorn the Bills traded for. I don’t believe in the kid anymore, whatever he weighs. The Bills haven’t successfully schemed him into a big play slot or a down field threat. Zach Davidson gives us the same threat on the field at a lower price. I wouldn’t care if we flipped Kincaid for 4th round pick or some other under achiever.

I'm going to go with Cole Bishop taking a big developmental step in year 2.....that injury in training camp really set back his progress, but I thought he played better the more reps he got...... -

I think we see more out of Bosa than I think some expect in a bit of a resurgence season for him with how deep our DL is and how the rotations will help keep him fresh and healthy. I agree on Deone Walker, I think he’s going to be rotating but will be in on some important moments come playoff time using his length with Groot and Landon to not only step up the run D, but also to wreak havoc on passing lanes all that height and length. -
After his successful rookie season I fully expected Kincaid to hit the weight room and come back for his sophomore campaign with more muscle and functional strength. It didn’t happen last year and it looks like it didn’t happen again this year. Maybe he’s content with being an NFL player and just doesn’t put in offseason work. Josh and Beane have both commented about how Keon has come back bigger and stronger. I’ve never heard these things about Dalton and he’s already an older player as it is. Cant use youth as an excuse.

It was the NFL GM equivalent of a college basketball coach getting a technical foul to fire up his team.

Fantastic. Love it. (Needs better title)

Tre White comeback player of the year. -
Forest - nobody’s talking about this signing but he may be the best safety on our roster

Good watch but not as cool as usual. Previous years showed more insider stuff, this just rehashed stuff (like calls to draftees) that we’ve seen before. How about footage of taking guys out to dinner after their pro-day? How about calls to UDFA so we get a feel on how that works? How about trades that didn’t go through?

Different scenario. Those were considered top 10 talent (in McGahee's case, pre-injury) in their years. Ton of guys in their position carry an attitude - I think Amari Cooper was one too. But the guys drafted by Bills in recent years, are towards the bottom of a round, like 30, so you don't know if you are going to make that round. A lot of money at stake. Bottom 1st rounders average something like $13 million 4 year rookie contract. Mid-2nd rounders may get half of that. For people in their position and their agents, every pick going by costs them money. When you look back, if a guy gets a 2nd contract, it looks petty worrying about 1st round vs 2nd round money, but you know what? Even half of the 1st round guys don't make it.

Who’s your defensive surprise of the year?

Not to mention Dorian Strong, who just feels like a Benford-ish fit if he brings it. That's a serious infusion of high-end DB talent/traits/pedigree/production. Along with Forrest entering the S competition; hope he gets a fair shake at it. They identified DL and DB deficits and filled them in a draft nicely designed to do so. I wonder if a pure S pick was at any point tempting. CHECK THIS ANALOGY DAMN: drafting a true S in first half of 2025 draft could have been blocked by the presence of Bishop (2nd rounder year before) and Rapp (decent starter signed for 2 more years), the same way Coleman (2nd rounder year before) and Samuel (signed for 2 more years) could have blocked a more significant draft investment at WR, even though WR is a much more premium position than S, and Coleman and Samuel have not done a ton for the Bills to date. The Bills lean pretty heavily on player development. Pessimists will say that kind of hope isn't a strategy. Optimists will say that guys drafted on the first two days are just that certain set of circumstances away from outgrowing their ceilings. -
Seems like the OP is not impressed with length, but instead prefers a tight end with a little more girth.
-
to be fair….the NFL wants to wait to see what happens in free agency and some big names in the draft go to before releasing the schedule.

What is your favorite totally random Bills game?
ChronicAndKnuckles replied to T.E.'s topic in The Stadium Wall
The 2003 season opening 31-0 beat down of New England. I thought the Bills were going to be THE premier 2000s AFC team. Mostly because of the defense. I thought they were building something special. If I only knew how bad it would eventually become. An honorable mention to the Texans game where JP Losman hit a couple 83 yard bombs to Evan’s (how poetic) and the game winner to Peerless Price. Just a great game with some huge plays that went down to the wire. -

Deone Walker's strength at this point in his development is not really run defense. To date, he's been much better rushing the passer. 2023 college tape, Senior Bowl tape, injury recovery with NFL strength and conditioning, plus the promise of intensive NFL coaching, projects a high ceiling overall for Walker. But he's not a plug-and-play run stuffer at all right now. -
Jordan Hancock if Taron misses any time. Hoping he takes Cam Lewis' role, and that he knows that on 4th down you KNOCK IT DOWN

Our QB looks more like a TE than our actual TE does... That being said, everyone said he'd be a huge weapon in the slot! But they forgot, most of what we have are guys who would be good in the slot 😆
