  1. Past hour
  2. We are unlikely to catch the Pats for the division crown, but let's not let them clinch it against us.
  3. The season is almost done. It would take longer for the family to move than to just play out the season. That's why I think this excuse is BS. The family is already in Philly, not in Pittsburgh. Slay can get a nice suite at a Buffalo hotel, or bunk with a teammate, and play out the string with the Bills, then go home in 5-6 weeks, 8 if we go all the way.
  4. Could we at least just be blessed with a Lombardi?
  5. Its not necessarily bad science, but simply science that is limited by its design. Design was observational study. Whenever you read about any study, in any medical journal, think about the design. For instance, lets say that your hypothesis is that snow shoveling causes fatal heart attacks. Here are 4 study designs, in order of weakest to strongest. 1) Case report. a doc publishes a report that some dude was shoveling snow, had a hear attack, and died. No controls. 2) Case series. A doc publishes that he saw 10 patients in the ER over the last 3 years who were shoveling snow when they developed a heart attack. No controls. 3) Case control. A doc studies hear attack patients who are in the hospital, and asks them when they last shoveled snow. The shovers are the cases, non shovelers are the controls. 4) Cohort study. Men choose either to be shovlers, or hire a neighbor kid, and never touch a shovel. You then follow these men for months to years, and see if the shovelers have more heart attacks. Advantage is this is now prospective, with controls. Disadvantage is that men choose which group they are in. Maybe younger healthier guys are mostly shovelers, and older sickly guys choose to be non-shovelers. 5) Randomized experiment. Men are randomly placed into groups where they either shovel or dont. Conceptually, this is the best experimental design. Obviously, this type of design is often unethical or not feasible for other reasons. And these are often very costly studies. The best designs for vaccines are this type of design, where one group gets the vaccine, the other group gets a placebo, and the groups are chosen randomly. This was the design for the landmark mRNA vaccines, involving ~ 30K volunteers, and published in the NEJM. The linked study above is an observational study. This is a type of case control, suboptimal as the numbers of cases and controls are far different. These are generally considered weak evidence in the medical community, and usually more of a hypothesis generating study, as opposed to a definitive study.
  6. Obviously the Bills have to beat them, but I certainly think the Ravens and Dolphins are both quite capable of beating the Patriots.
  7. Would love to have it on SNF
  8. Other players around the league are using them.
  9. Patriots are a below average rushing team. Pats defense is above average though, but not significantly better than the Bills have been. For this game I expect Patriots offense to look good in the first half, maybe score 17 or so. I think Bills will do a much better job on Diggs than the first game though (be hard to do worse). But the 2nd half I think the Bills defense will "get it" and Patriots will start to struggle. Certainly a key will be the pass rush which was terrible last week for the most part. The key for Bills offense is Cook has to have a decent game. I expect some good play action with Allen under center and keep the Pats defense guessing. And of course Josh Allen is going to have to step up again and compensate for his receivers inability to get open. Bills 31-20
  10. Last year I think we had one or two players, maybe Rapp?, who wore the helmet pillows (I guess they have some sort of official name but that's what they look like to me). This year I don't think any Bills are using it and I'm surprised that it hasn't caught on around the league, considering what appears to be an obvious safety benefit. OK, they look ridiculous, but probably face guards did too when they were new. (Kinda reminds me of hockey back in the '60s when only one or two players wore helmets, and the Amerks had a goalie, Bobby Perrault, who didn't wear a mask or a helmet at all. He's dead now.) Anyway I'd love to have the wisdom of my fellow posters on this all-important topic.
  11. Yes that is the Bills tailgate lot. But here's a pro tip...park across the street (Route 1) at Foxboro Terminals. Then walk across to hang with your fellow Bills fans. Why do that? Because when you leave Foxboro Terminals you can easily get to I-95 northbound and be on your way. Also Foxboro Terminals is on the same side of Route 1 as the stadium, so you don't have to cross the road to get to your car after. (It's still almost a mile walk!) If you park at Rt.1 Liquors you have to leave going south on Route 1 and then you are driving back intro the schmozzle of cars leaving the stadium lots.
  12. Fair statement. But if it can happen once, it can happen again.
  13. Look at these guys culturally appropriating Rush. Bet they get no squaws at their shows either.
  14. yup. it was a travesty. and they were successfully prosecuted. many bad docs went to jail. There are definitely things I don't like about pharma. price gouging and finding ways around patent expirations are 2 of the big ones (both could be largely solved by single payer and a national formulary. but without big pharma, the bugs would have won the antibiotic wars years ago and many cancers would still have a life expectancy of less than a year. many more conditions where their research investments have paid huge dividends to humanity.
  15. I think he’s spot on but his comments couldn’t come at a more perfect time. Fuel for the fire heading into an important game.
  16. Coaching is better. They just run a smoother game day operation. Use of TOs. Getting on refs / getting calls. Challenges. Game plan. And I’ll say even on the player talent side they’re fairly even. In some spots. The Bills players and coaches are just high variance. Sometimes you get really good play. Sometimes you get really bad play. Sometimes you get mediocre play. Whereas this season the pats playersare very consistent with low variance.
  17. Great, but doctors were wined and dined from the makers of oxycontin to push that the drug was non habit forming which was a flat out lie correct? How is it crazy? You don't think we could be lied to again? How many lives were ruined because of what was falsely said regarding oxycontin?
  18. Again, I will ask the original question. What WR did they miss on since they trade Diggs? Coleman and every outside WR1 drafted all have busted. The other poster brought up a 5th round WR in a year where we were on the first year a huge extension for Diggs who was still in his twenties and a top 5 WR in the NFL. This notion they can't evaluate is pretty wild given they have not invested a lot of premium assets in the position becasue they had Diggs. They found Shakir and Davis on day 3 who exceeded their draft slots by far. The only other relevant investment was Coleman, yet no other WR taken when we could have taken one has really done more than Coleman, they have all been busts. The only example is Ladd whose natural position is the slot and that was the one position we already had. We needed an outside WR and we needed size. So using hindsight to flame them for not taking a guy that the people complaining also were NOT campaigning for on draft night is pretty silly. Everyone wanted Legette, Franklin, Adonai, Worthy, etc. All have been busts. Even the guys people wanted later have done less than Keon. First 2 seasons with Beane was clearing out cap, clearing out bad contracts, bad players, bad fits. Once they had the QB in place, they started looking to build around him and went and got Diggs who was a top 5 WR his tenure here. They supported him with other quality WR's like Cole, Sanders, Brown, Gabe in those prime Diggs years and then drafted for the future with Shakir as Cole was getting older and on his way out (and hit on that). Then they extended Diggs to finish his career here while he was still in his 20's. That relationship ended earlier than intended and conincidentally in a season where they were not going to over pay to keep Davis either. That left them having to rebuild the whole room outside Shakir in one season, and a season they had a $31M dead money cap hit at the position too, really leaving them only the draft to address it. Then on top of that, we aged out a lot of veteran leadership as well, so the whole draft became the first mini retool since Allen arrived as we had to address a lot of positions. And despite all that, the offense went out and put up the single greatest offensive season in Bills history and one that was historically good. That same offense averaged 29 PPG over 3 games in the playoffs against 3 of the best defenses in the AFC last year and Josh got his first MVP. All that being said - as I previous mentioned - my mindset is everyone should be fired if we don't win a SB this year. At some point you need to just make a change. So I am not here to say they are perfect or need to say. But this ranting without context that goes on daily here just gets so old. Especially when all those people wanted other players who were also busts or they want to play the hindsight game and make a big deal about a 5th round WR when we had a top 5 WR who just signed a large extension to retire here.
  19. Super surprised the NFL kept this a 1pm game.
  20. Good heavens. This has nothing to do with media bias. DEMOCRATS released a photo previously available to the public and obscured the faces in order to make people, people like you, see something nefarious. For someone that labels everyone he disagrees with a Trump sycophant, you seem to be going out of your way to protect your own. Why? https://www.telegraph.co.uk/us/news/2025/12/12/epstein-trump-new-photos-released-clinton/ The women were models representing Hawaiian Tropic, the American suntan lotion brand, at an event at Mar-a-Lago. The photo is thought to have been taken in 1998, when Epstein and Mr Trump were close friends, and the models were in their twenties. One of the women in the Mar-a-Lago photo told The Telegraph the US president was a “gentleman” who went out of his way to ensure the group enjoyed their evening at his Florida holiday home. How awful.
  21. Hey Clark the sh#@$&%/r’s full. Love that movie.
  22. I cant believe people believe this nonsense. RFKJ uses big words, sometimes with true medical meanings, but he uses them incorrectly. Antigenic shift and antigenic drift are both meaningful medical terms. RFKJ uses them incorrectly. Yet another batsht crazy statement. A few docs are crooks, ergo, ipso facto, QED, all docs are crooks.
  23. Depends on how much he's kept up with the nfl
  24. I wonder if he could still suit up for the Raiders since that's the team he owns part of. Kind of a recall to the old movie "Heaven Can Wait" and be the player/owner. Geno is expected to miss this week and I bet he's still better than Kenny Pickett... We all know that's just Cam Newton using an alias.
