Does truth exist??
Joe Ferguson forever replied to Joe Ferguson forever's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Which do you find unimportant, winning or learning? -
McDermott in general seems very conservative about injuries during the regular season, which I think is a good thing. It is not black and white like you say (how often do we see guys playing in the playoffs with nagging injuries they would have sat out for in the regular season). A lot of the medical clearance depends on the players themselves reporting how they feel. A non-conference game against a bad team is about as low stakes as you'll get, and anybody who is borderline should sit.

Josh doesn’t get a fair shake? I think Josh is represented fairly. The shortcomings of making the superbowl have never been held against Josh but rather the team and coaching staff in general. Double that down with his MVP and I think he’s treated correctly. Never heard anyone say he’s anything less than one of the three best guys in the game. Who isn’t giving him fair evaluation?
-
That's silly, and intentionally obtuse.

Interesting accusation from Saleh yesterday, naming a lot of names. Liam Coen was asked about this at a press conference today and he didn't deny it, just said he didn't want to talk about it. How does this affect your opinion of NFL games knowing this might be a thing? Do the Bills do it? How much of what we blame on our team could just be the result of the other coaching staff knowing our plays ahead of time, rather than execution or effort or Xs and Os coaching prowess? Do the Chiefs do this in our playoff games? https://www.si.com/nfl/why-robert-saleh-accused-jaguars-sign-stealing

They're both important. Do you cheer for the Bills to win or learn? Just for Orlando. Maybe you could just watch the movie. The Handmaid's Tale author, Margaret Atwood, published an article in The Atlanticin 2023, responding to the school board in Madison County, Virginia banning her book from high-school libraries on the grounds of having explicit sexual scenes. She argued that the official reasons for the ban are ridiculous, stating that her book "is much less sexually explicit than the Bible." Limiting what kids can read based on religious views is also a form of totalitarianism and flies against the separation of church and state that the US is founded on. The author stated that despite her book being misunderstood as anti-Christian, The Handmaid's Tale was partially inspired by biblical texts and argues "against totalitarian control and power hoarding cloaked in a supposed religiousness that is mostly based on the earlier scriptures in the Bible." Atwood does have a point. It makes little sense that her book is banned, while movie and TV adaptations that include more explicit scenes are not. Banning her book from libraries only affects those who can't afford to buy books. Atwood also raised the topic of book censorship in the age of social media and streaming platforms. The Handmaid's Tale depicts a dystopian society where the theocratic Christian authoritarian regime of Gilead has taken over the US. The penultimate fifth season of The Handmaid's Tale delves further into June's story. The provocative nature of the subjects discussed in the story may cause discomfort for certain people, especially on the subject of sex, birth control, and women's rights. However, contrary to what is claimed in the official statement on the book ban, sex exists only by mention. There's no direct, on-the-page description of explicit activities. AlthoughThe Handmaid's Tale was written for adults, the book often makes an appearance on high school reading lists. The author has since teamed up with Penguin Random House to create a fire-proofed version to ensure her book cannot be burned. -
Tua gets the bag - $53M a year

And lets be real, he was one of the top 40 players in the world at his position for over a decade. He earned that -
If you were really interested in truth you'd actually understand that learning is what is important over winning.
-
Tua won a national championship as well and was a top 5 pick in the draft. Cam did all that because of unrivaled athletic ability, not because he was smart with x's and o's. I mean, I'm sure he knows football. He was an NFL QB. But that was never what made him special. It is usually the less physically gifted QBs (like Tua) who know the game better because they have to.
-
Not really, not in terms of the draft. Since McDermott arrived, the Bills have drafted a db three times in round one, as opposed to two for the DL. In this same time period, the Bills have drafted a total of 14 dbs and 11 defensive linemen. If you want to cite expenditures only at both positions you would be correct. Count me as one who believes that the draft is the most important way to build a football team. Yes, trades and free agency are both important but clicking on draft picks is the most vital aspect imo. https://www.drafthistory.com/index.php/teams/bills

But that doesn’t mean he isn’t on the verge of entering the elite group. He’s looked tremendous this season. Other than running ability, the biggest difference between he and Josh atm is his ability to navigate the pocket. Josh’s pocket presence is next level nowadays while Herbert still has moments of confusion when the heat is on. He’s also not working with the Bills OL and has a poor RT

you argued using the premise of me supporting porn or sexually explicit books for children. I don't and I never said I did. But you "went through it". Wtf does that mean and how does it relate to your straw man argument against something I never said? Huh? Winning an argument and looking for the truth are mutually exclusive? splain... certainly, one can argue an untruthful point. Lawyers do it all the time. But I did not. I communicate just fine. Never had a colleague complain. -
The Trump scenario was weighed and considered by the American people and you saw the results as they played out at election time. Enough people rejected the notion of the silliness of the Bragg prosecution, the absurdity of the Carroll verdict and the Biden DOJ raiding his home while Biden himself had been holding classified documents for many years. The only thing that matters now is the Trump beat him, Biden et al and is President, and there sure seems like a lot of smoke around Comey. Maybe he’ll get his day in court, maybe a liberal judge dismisses the case but I’ll say this—-there is nothing about him that suggests he’s the hero of the tale.

Listening to what she says precisely LOTT is incorrect in her summation. Worrell is stating that her office is not competent enough to prove this guy's was doing anything illegal. The fact that there is video of him available does not mean enough because they are just too stupid -
If Landon Jackson is able to get on the field and even be average, that'll be a big step up what he showed in preseason. From what I saw, he made me question if he'll ever be able to contribute. I did they say the same thing about Bernard after his first game action, so I'd love to be proven wrong again.

The definition of a straw man argument: A straw man argument is a logical fallacy where someone misrepresents or distorts an opponent's argument into an exaggerated, weaker, or false version of itself, and then argues against that distorted version instead of the original one I pointed out a real incident, not false or distorted, so actually knowing the definition of words makes me "an idiot". If you had called it anecdotal you would have been close but exactly correct but your statement is indefensible so you resort to name calling. Truly you are so easily duped I feel bad for you -

In fairness he’s 75% committed to being situationally flexible. He was anti classified docs in a former presidents home, then realized he was part of the pro-Slippage movement while being against presidential pardons before he was for them until January 2025 when he was against them again. -
