Around the NFL : Week 6 (no Bills talk in this thread, please)

Oh yah, I went to NYC once, almost got robbed -
Absolutely!!!! I would have to root for both of them ... and feel so happy for the Series winner at the time feeling so sad for the team that lost. The Brewers have never won the Series, and have only made the Series once, in 1982. The Mariners have never even made the Series. They have only made the ALCS three times, the last time in 2001.

It's not the roster. It's ownership. That's the one constant that won't change. And I think Fields gets shots as a starter over guys like Mac and Sam because of his mobility. If someone can make the light go off on Fields as a passer he has a huge upside because of his ability to run the ball as well.

Could you imagine today's wideouts having to go across the middle on Ronnie Lott? They'd likely just refuse to run the route. -
I went to a friends house to watch the Tennessee game they player the Razorbacks and I would have swore I was watching the last Bills game ! The officials were calling every little penalty against the Vols and letting go a lot of calls that the Razorbacks were committing that were the exact same ones they were calling against the Vols . It doesn't make any sense, if your going to call those against one just be consistent and call it on both it drove me crazy because of the flash back to last week & my buddy was losing his mind because he is a HUGE Vols fan . They need to make these guys accountable in some way to have a certain amount of consistency when calling these games . And if nothing else use another official for review purposes of some sort, I don't know how they could do it but just do it !! In both college and the NFL ...

There's an interesting possibility. The worst NFL team: 1. Plays the best college team. We had plenty of skydivers here saying that Alabama under Saban was better. 2. Banished to the CFL for at least a year. If they win the Grey Cup, they return to the NFL, and the next worst NFL team replaces them.

Youse gonna be sorry when da Jests steal da division We have 2 new Yutes on dis team.. -
I think that this is a tough conversation to have for Bills fans. We just don’t know a lot of what’s out there. We know very little about college football comparatively, so that whole segment of candidates is a blind spot. The coordinators that are always rumored to get HC jobs (Johnson, Glenn, Coen, etc) all got HC jobs. The coordinator most likely to take a HC role next year is our own Joe Brady. People knew Vrabel but he took a job. That basically leaves the fan base deciding if it’s better to bring back McCarthy, Gruden or Belichick. 🤣🤣It was the same way when we used to always want Cowher or Shanahan. Those are HORRENDOUS options. 🤣🤣

Officiating college vs pros

I have noticed that the nose of the ball barely breaking the goal line plane is not being called a TD anymore. It happened in the jags game where Lawrence leaped and the nose of the ball touched the plane. Of course it happened last night in the auburn game but it was called the exact same way as the jags game. Breaking the plane is no longer a TD. I hope this doesn't haunt the Bills. You got me on the Smart timeout call. Looked like he was clearly calling a timeout. Then he told the refs he was clapping so the refs gave him the timeout back -

I like Thursday night games if the Bills win. Sets up the NFL weekend nicely. If they lose, it's horrible. Monday night games are nasty - especially off the back of a loss. -
And yet, on paper, their roster has some really strong players. Every year, I expect them to take the leap and every year they fall apart. They have a toxic culture and probably need a complete roster reset. I don't know why Fields keeps getting chances as a starter when guys like Mac Jones and Sam Darnold had to go be backups. Fields in his early years showed less than those two, but he keeps getting shots as a starter. I don't know what teams see in him.

Nah, they're going to win handily and continue to win right up to the Bills game. I'm bracing for all the chatter about how they're back, and they will be. Like Harry Potter and Voldemort, the only team that can stop them is the Bills. It has to be the Bills.
