Stadium Construction Discussion (No PSL/Seat selection posts)

Were you able to tell how much of the seating is covered by the canopy? -
Of course it is McDermott's offense. Of course it is McDermott's Bills that have not got over the hump. McDermott coached, Beane built. And they haven't found a way. But that doesn't equate to "therefore they are the problem so must be fired." That is the leap folks are making that I don't think is supported. I mean it is, right? That isn't to say that without Allen McDermott would still have anything like the record he has or by this stage would still be in a job. But he is (and would still be) the Bills best head coach of the last 20 years. Now you might argue back "that isn't a high bar" and that would be fair.
-
do you think it's just a total coincidence that the best HC and the best QB arrived concurrently?
-
Yeah you are stuck with the best HC this team has seen in the last 20 years and maybe in the lat 50.

If you think McDermott is a substandard coach, there's really no point in having this conversation. I should have known better. -
It certainly would.

Loop is the Ravens new kicker (6th rd pick) and Trujillo is in Indianapolis battling it out with their other kicker. And yeah, all 3 have hit 60+ yard FGs in a game.

Your defense of McD losing to KC last year was, “the offense couldn’t score at the end.” It’s Sean McDermotts’ offense. He’s the head coach. Sean McDermott’s offense failed last year. They failed in 2023. Sean McDermott’s defense failed basically every other postseason. Sean McDermott’s special teams failed in 2023 and 2021. Sean McDermott’s team has failed in the postseason every season since 2019, when COVID was a glimmer in its mothers’ eye. It’s unfortunately seems a way to deflect from McD and Beane. “Josh had the ball in his hands and couldn’t it get it done” The hidden, unspoken clause at the end of that statement is “so it’s not McDermott’s fault.” But that’s just not the full story. He was throwing to Curtis Samuel or the latest first round disappointment in a do or die moment so we could build a defense instead to allow another KC season high total.

You got me beat by 13 years. Woopdie freakin doo. One things for sure. You wouldn't know substandard coaching if it bit you in the rearend.

Do the Bills Even Have a Hated Division Rival?
BuffaloBaumer replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think it will always be the Chiefs for me, no matter what. -
Yeah no. It's not really working. Manufacturing is down. Prices are up, though not as dramatically as some expected. And those tariff monies are paid by Americans. Because consumers are spooked and are not consuming as much. And, inventories were padded during the period in which Trump was flip-flopping on tariffs.

Stadium Construction Discussion (No PSL/Seat selection posts)

After a lot of logistical coordination I got a personal tour of the new stadium construction site today. A real bucket list item for a long practicing Architect and long time Bills fan. The place is huge and very impressive. Attending games in the new stadium will be nothing like the current experience. Standing at the field level I was struck by how tall and enclosed it feels. And, I answered a few of my own questions: First, the scaffolded ‘dance floor’ suspended from the roof is just to install conduit from and to the lights and speakers (as others suspected). The underside of the roof is just too high above the upper deck seating bowl to reach with any other lifts or cranes. Second, the wind confusion panels are indeed nothing more than perforated metal architectural panels that open up to the interior concourses in a few spots but I believe they are mostly decorative. It’s really the height and full circle enclosure that’ll be the biggest factor in reducing wind inside the bowl. If anyone has any questions, I’ll do my best to answer them. Go Bills! -

I've been going to Bills games since Richie Lucas, you're welcome. -
I have never sought to do that though. The Head Coach and General Manager between them are ultimately accountable for everything. Good and bad. But do I think either of them is the single thing holding the Bills back? No I don't and I don't think the evidence supports that. At the point where I do I will advocate firing one or both.

There is an I in both: -Win -Championship (two, in fact) Football may be a team sport but sometimes it takes that 1 player to move the needle from pretender to contender. Look at the impact Barkley made with the Eagles.

Camp question: Who is this year’s Buffalo Joe?
frostbitmic replied to GASabresIUFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Offense - Shavers Defense - Ingram Just a gut feeling on both but I thought Ingram looked much improved in limited action last season. Shavers has good size, plays teams and seems to be popular with his teammates. If it's rookie then Ill go with Dorian Strong. Seem to hear some positives about his camp so far. -
I find it more than curious that you (and others) seem to try to separate McD and the rest of the teams performances. When the ST groups fail, the head coach wears it. When the offense fails, the head coach wears it. When the defense fails spectacularly, the head coach wears it. To me, all you have proven is that the head coach Sean McDermott in year 8 has managed to fail in multiple ways over multiple seasons.

It's not Torrence or McGovern's time yet. Neither contract is up. If Philly can pay Hurts, Barkley, Brown and Smith, I'm sure Beane can figure it out. Do you know what potential means? *Parcells voice*

So, best case scenario is it only hurts one countries economy. Makes sense.

Agree to disagree, Williams isn't exactly lighting it up in camp. If he can't pick apart camp CBs, he'll be no better than last year -
I mean, it's the truth. I don't think it is one thing failing the Bills. They just haven't made the critical plays.
