Allen missed a wide open Knox on the final play
Rousseauisnoschmo replied to ChronicAndKnuckles's topic in The Stadium Wall
And I was talking about Knox. -
I don't know if I'd call him "great" this year. But PFF would.........he is their 9th rated DE/edge in the NFL this season. There are still so many people on TSW who are utterly clueless about football. Benford, on the other hand, has been shite. The light is out in his eyes. He looks like he is just trying to survive the headache. That play where Bishop had to shoe-string tackle Collins last night.......2024 Benford helps tackle that guy. He doesn't want it and when he has to make a tackle he gets up looking like he's just seen a ghost. Scairt.

Cleveland has a very good defense. Could be a repeat performance from last night

Yeah agree with a lot here. Plus I think we drafted need instead of bpa a couple years in early rounds and it hurt. -

Brotha I love 17 more than most, but a shallow crosser right in front of your face and you choose that......that's rough af. We had one timeout left and only needed 6 yards for a 1st, but he got baited into chucking it towards Palmer heading toward the end zone. The rest of your points are commonly accepted, for good reason. -
People talk about "windows" in sports for a few reasons. The main one is retaining talent & maintaining a quality team. But psychology is also a major factor, imo. We certainly feel it as a fanbase. There was even talk preseason about how some of us weren't as "up" for the regular season this year, because no matter what happened & how good we looked, literally nothing mattered if we were going to have an early playoff exit again. It was all about making the Super Bowl - and really, only about that. And we've felt that all season. It's not fun. WE are not having fun. It's a slog. Biding our time for an AFCCG which now looks unlikely. The players have different outlooks. It's their job, and they get paid to show up every week. But it's very obvious that they're not having fun either. There is frustration, impatience, weariness and a general malaise over this team. Even if they "show up" for work - it's the mental edge and joy for the game that can make the difference in the NFL, where there isn't a lot that separates most teams anyway. I hate how tired we look. The only real break in that was the KC game - that reminded me of how we used to be. But KC is such a nemesis, I think the team gets up for that one regardless.

Time to Rebuild? Too Many Beane Holes.
gonzo1105 replied to OutOfBubbleGum's topic in The Stadium Wall
I just think that Beane needs to shift his philosophy. Start going with size and speed. I can live with that. They are not going to give up on the character aspect. I’d just tell McDermott that it’s not working with the 220 LBs and the 190 pound Nickel that have average athleticism. He needs to start focusing on skill players. If you truly believe Kromer is the guy you believe he is, and he is damn good, then he should be able to develop a couple of cheap offensive lineman and reallocate those resources to getting a WR or two that can actually make a difference in this offense for Allen -

Yeah he won't. Not his nature plus he's working a consecutive games played streak. -
I’m more in the camp that McDermott is an overall good coach, HIS scheme and philosophy isn’t gonna get us there though. If anything force him to upgrade his OC and DC with their style and philosophy. Sadly, we’ve taken a step back with both coordinators! Brady struggles to adjust, his 4th down play calling is atrocious and frankly, I don’t think he knows how to use Allen. Go get a proven, experienced DC! Enough of this in house BS! I still can’t get over how bad the entire D is in basic tackling!

Greg Rousseau has turned out to be a complete slug.

He has only gotten better at rushing the passer in the NFL? Nothing says getting better than having an unassisted sack once every 18 quarters in the last 26 games! Pay the man! Oops. Unfortunately, oops. -
Yes, I am of the position that we cannot get a Lombardi as a WC and therefore anything from getting beaten in a Superbowl (which just means that you're the best loser) to missing a playoff spot is the same thing. You may as well reset and go again. An overhaul is essential.

a great reason to draft WR is that they are expensive -
Remaining Schedule, how will this play out?
CincyBillsFan replied to zow2's topic in The Stadium Wall
Weather could be a big issue and that Bengal's D is historically bad making the Bills D look like the 1985 Bears. With the game being in Buffalo if it gets into a shoot out it will resemble the Tampa Bay game with the Bills coming out on top. -
Division is out at this point…have to do it as a wildcard
Bills aPHILLYate replied to Billsfed1's topic in The Stadium Wall
I can understand frustration but to actively root against making the playoffs is wild. Yes some of the earlier season aspirations are almost out the window but I want them in the mix. 5 days ago Josh had a historic performance and he is capable of a game like that at any given moment. Every defense we face is not gonna be a #1 ranked defense. Winning in the NFL is difficult. There's 6 games left. They could easily get into a groove in that timeframe and walk into the playoffs with all the momentum on their side. -

it's that it is true for every team, i mean it is true, but the point here is that we only lose when we turn the ball over. we only lose to lesser teams when we are on the road and turn the ball over. there is a thin margin between good and bad teams in the nfl, and we have 17 and the oline and 4 and so on. maybe we lose a game here or there, it's inevitable, but even with the terrible run d, and the injuries and the sacks and all of that, if we ran the ball more and more smartly and were less predictable based on formation and passed more to tes and rbs (lower risk, less turnovers) we have 10 ways to beat all the teams who beat us. basically, even with the holes we have, if we just correct the process on the road and do a few things to turn the ball over less (which we did last season, when our roster was objectively worse than this year imo) then we are in like flynn

Well the ongoing saga with Coleman, the handling of Elam publicly last year, it makes me think that if the curtain is pulled tightly but somehow the dysfunction is still visible, it's a circus. You had Beane going on the radio in the offseason and having a childish meltdown because he was (correctly) criticized for not trying to get a weapon or two for his MVP quarterback. I've worked enough in corporate America to know this alleged "professionalism" is simply a large marketing department and PR team keeping the wraps on things.

I feel like for some of these guys, (shakir and groot in particular) they could do better in a different system than what we ask them do now (blaming coaching here for not living up to contract, though they are not terribly off) Cook was good. The rest are trash. Bernard due to being an undersized lb was supposed to have speed, yet now he looks to be running like he is stuck in mud, leaving him to guess and when he is wrong it hurts. Benford, I dont know what happened (His head had a long time to clear up from the end of last season), but he is not even remotely the same player as he was last year

CincyBillsFan replied to zow2's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm not ruling out that the Bills go on a roll as most of their upcoming games are either favorable match ups from a talent aspect - the Steelers & Bengal's may have the worst defenses the Bills have seen this season and Cleveland's offense is so inept that the 19 points the Bills scored yesterday would likely lead to a two score win over the Browns. They get the Eagles at home and the Jets will be running for the bus. That leaves NE which is on paper the Bills toughest remaining game. 5 - 1 is not out of the question and 4 -2 seems very doable. -

Put Josh on the LA Rams or San Francisco and find out how dominate he’d be, McDermott and Beane are two clowns that are wasting his time here. -
