  1. Past hour
  2. I don't like being in a position where all are hopes on defense rest on a rookie CB making his first start late in the season. Even if he turns out to be a decent player, that's a lot to expect from him. It was obviously a need for us to draft him but Beane should have done more to bring in a starting CB and not an injury prone vet who is on his last legs.
  3. Absolutely not. That is an INT all day long and twice on Sunday if Allen throws at that point. The safety had plenty of time as did the up DB. Samuel becomes wide open as Allen moves to his right and the defense shifts to the right to follow him.
  4. Very true. I have hope, and still have to be open to the idea that we may not be great this year due to injuries already and lack of depth. The scheme doesn't inspire many either. "everyone eats and bend but don't break" to me sounds a whole lot like what it's been- we have no true #1 WR so we'll name it something we can sell and on defense we can't stop a whole lot with consistency so we'll just hope for turnovers to bail us out. We thought we'd be a Super Bowl team at 7-6 and we weren't. We haven't done anything to show that we are better than that. Believe me I'm not saying this just because we lost. BUT because we lost, this board is a little more tolerable towards hearing some criticism and taking off the rose colored glasses. I love this team and I have for 40 years so I'm not going anywhere, but I have to be honest about what I see and feel.
  5. When we trade for a WR, does Beane go back on WGR for round 2?
  6. Shaheed would have been a great option to fit that request. After his outing against the Giants I can’t see them getting rid of him. Great building block to allow Olave and Cooks to work underneath.
  7. A 53 yarder today is like a 30 yarder from 20 years ago. I bet that Cowboys kicker could hit one from 75 yards.
  8. Sometimes its easier for people to just say but our O scores 30 per game and we have made the playoffs every year. Rather than looking at what it could be with a different WR crew or philosophy etc. Maybe we have multiple super bowl wins. The results can be good and still be limiting the full potential. We have generational talent at QB. Better coaches, skill players, etc is he a guy that gets multiple rings? But keeping him in this system he scores a lot points, wins some mvp's, but never the ultimate prize? I dont know, but worth thinking about vs. just we dont need to change anything bc we score a lot already.
  9. There's not much to change. Our defense is reliant on guys who were in their prime 5 years ago to be stars. And some of them are hurt. We are reliant on rookies who are basically all looking...well like rookies and young players. Our talent pipeline from 2018 to 2024 was very poor. 2022 was a good year, but the rest not so much. We don't have a ton of experienced good guys to replace the old guys who are aging out. Here are players on the active roster drafted from 2018 to now that are contributing. Josh, Taron, Ed, Knox, AJE, Rousseau, Brown, Hamlin, Cook, Benford, Bernard, Shakir, Kincaid, Dorian, OCT, Coleman, Bishop, Ray Davis. That's not a real murderer's row of talent. Taron was excellent but has fallen off a cliff.
  10. I dont agree with the Gore point at all. People are calling for Gore because of his name, that’s it. He played halfway decent against 3rd stringers and practice squad guys. Just because we don’t see them play doesn’t mean the coaches don’t. If he was good enough, he would be in. They make their 3rd round rookie inactive every week, you think they wouldn’t do that to their 4th round rb if they had someone better?
  11. NE was using light boxes most of the night and James Cook touched the ball 6 times in the second half
  12. We aren’t getting a corner with Hairston and Strong. Strong I think will be back later in the year.
  13. No more "Complimentary Football" ... (aka the new code word for "The Process" or the new concept to "hide behind") Take your strengths on both sides of the ball, and make things as miserable as possible for the opponent on each side, for the entire game
  14. Allen has also been turning down those opportunities.
  15. Allen couldn't find his receivers because the all-white uniforms blended in with the whiteout in the crowd.
  16. Something tells me we only ever see Hancock if Taron is unavailable. Even then, unlikely. Cam Lewis slides into there more often than not.
  17. It hurts to turn the radio on My stamina's gone My spirit is weak Because every time I start to move on Keep hearing that song I'm brought to my knees To permanently see in reverse Take the remorse out of defeat Because everything that's under my skin Where I end and begin Still belongs to me
  18. Seems riq woolen is a corner that could be available, according to various league guys. He seems to fit the we need speed at the corner spot requirement.
  19. Brady's system is exquisite when everything works. When it doesn't, he goes to the too-cute-by-half stuff, then sticks with it.
  20. One thing that shocked me was that the game winning FG was 53 yards, and it looked like it would've been good from 73 yards.
  21. They got to him with a couple blitzes out of the secondary but the Pats DL only got to Allen 2-3 times in 30+ dropbacks.
  22. This is a team that we all thought was our Super Bowl team when we were at 7-6 at one point. There is so much season left.
  23. It’s crazy that it takes our guys so long to learn it because all the other offenses know it front to back immediately
  24. Football is weird honestly. I had the Bills losing to ATL and thought they would have handled business. The Pats lost to the Raiders and Steelers at home but beat Buffalo. It is a week by week league and especially for younger teams up and coming like NE they will have a little more variance as they build up then others. The Pats this year remind of 2019 Bills in a lot of ways and that Bills team had a bad loss in CLE where it felt like they should have won that (CLE had lost 4 straight come in). Whoever lost was going to be annoyed with the refs. Both fanbases had a right to be annoyed, the amount of ticky tact crap was stupid.
  25. You scored 23 points, vs a poor defense playing without possibly our best defensive player, in a game where we turned the ball over 3 times, one of which gave you the 12 yards from a TD. While converting 3/9 3rd downs vs a D that is probably the worst in football in that department over the last 2 seasons. Diggs was the best player on the field last night. Much props to him. I love Drake Maye and I think he’ll be a star. I thought he played a solid game yesterday, but I was expecting him to play better than he did.
  26. I think he plays instinctively and that’s what I want. That’s how you play fast. I think he gets into trouble trying to fit into whatever this horseshit scheme asks him to do. Maybe if a few more guys got down hill instead of skating backwards, we’d hit a RB before he got to the secondary
