Who do we want, who do we need as our next HC and, or GM?

And it certainly was the right choice at the time. -
Some of these speed figures e.g. Hardman's 4.33 (2019), Samuel 4.31 (2017) Moore 4.35 (2021) are pretty dated in football terms, not sure we are helping Josh by picking up receivers off the scrap heap, or guys that can never seem to stay healthy for more than a couple of games at a time. We also have 4 receivers on our roster with times between 4.54 and 4.61, and guess what, they can't get separation.

To the 2nd part of your point, I think Robert Saleh got a screwed over by Jets. He had a great defense and was saddled with QBs that he didn't want and were terrible. Its still stuck in my head a couple years ago in a game against Jets where his confidence in Zach Wilson couldn't have been lower, but he daringly went for and converted a 4th down trying to manufacture a win. I think he's a good coach who would do well in better circumstances. -

Why isn’t Zion Logue mentioned much when we talk about DL? Has he played well in limited reps? -
Who do we want, who do we need as our next HC and, or GM?

For Rex, Terry was a brand new owner and relied on Russ and Doug, and while Whaley needed to be convinced he ultimately came around on Rex. After that, Terry used an outside consulting firm and they are the ones who helped him identify McDermott. Whaley was barely involved as he was on the hot seat and on his way out as well. So the only HC that Terry has hired himself has been McD. I'll also point out that in Novemeber of 2016, no one in Bills Country was talking about Sean McDermott or likely even knew his name. So when you see folks present the "well give me the name of who is going to be better" argument, it doesnt really stand and it doesnt really matter. We all knew a change was needed, just like we all know a change is needed now. The pros will figure it out. Or not. -

But I still don't know who takes over. Last time, there were two good options in Brady and Mike Shula. This time, there is nobody with OC or playcalling experience at the NFL level on the staff. -

Josh and Terry are the only people in this organization with the power to make a change. Josh has reached the LeBron level. If he wants Beane or McDermott gone, they’re gone. I think that we could be because of Josh. Outside of him it is a bad roster. If you plug league average QB play in (think Tua) this is like a 6-10 team. Someone will be excited though to have Josh for a while. -

what is crazy is that we have josh freaking allen and we aren't that appealable to the coaching and gm audience like we should be... it makes a man wonder. -
This is also a product of the passing scheme. When Beasley was here, the passing game was very complex for WRs because it was based in the EP scheme and we running a ton of WR option routes, especially with Beasley. When you are heavily running routes based on coverage and requiring both QB and WR to be diagnosing defenses together and being on the same page together, you are naturally getting less identifiable route combos and thus more "schemed open" looks. The Dorsey offense also did this alot but i think began to border on being too complex and less focused, and/or we stopped investing in the types of professional WRs who could effectively run it well. And thats why you saw alot more INTS because guys weren't on the same page enough. I don't see any of that really right now. Now, I'm not saying that we aren't currently making audibles and adjustments based on defensive coverage. But the Daboll offense was heavily based on spread concepts in the passing game (although he wanted to be able to play multiple styles as well). So the WRs and QB were reading the coverage and making adjustments during the play alot of times. Its also why you didn't hear much about the X receiver position as much until they switched schemes because this just naturally allowed for more fluidity. This offense was not perfect and had its own warts and I think it was way too reliant on Allen to make ALL of the plays (not in the idea that he needed to be "superman" but that almost every single play was read for throw or run OR constantly reading the coverage during the play - some offenses do have just easy button reads built in to take the pressure off). There really wasn't anything built in to do alot of the under center runs that we do now. But I think its why we saw so many "easy" completions. Because WRs were running to open spaces and the QB knew were they were going based on defensive leverage during the play. I think the Brady passing concepts are just very simply in comparison and easier to defend.

Just hopping in for a moment in your dialogue with @teef. For my money, very well done dialogue between you guys and I appreciate it. My only add here is that in spite of overwhelming data at the fingertips of most Americans, it’s less about the “morons” and more about people who just don’t understand some basic math. When you add in a compulsion for immediate gratification, the lure of easy money (at a substantially elevated interest rate), the failure to understand the notion of being “upside/down” on a vehicle that depreciated rapidly….and the notion that personal bankruptcy is no big deal, it’s a recipe for disaster. In this regard, while we can bash Dems or bash Rs, it’s a failure of our education system at a minimum.

Why don’t we ever pass to Cook 10-15 yards down field. I would bet he could get some separation!

Were We Running Into a Stacked Box?

By far my biggest complaint with Brady is his refusal this year to open up the game play-action heavy. This naturally softens the run defense. His plan in Seattle last season is the blueprint, but we refuse to try it this season. Hell the first play of the game was shotgun and all spread, screaming pass. Why not play-action instead of giving your intent away with formation. The Dolphins were ripe to roll over and our poor 1st drive and their subsequent 95-yard drive killed that idea. -
If a stinker on O for both games, then maybe Brady's fired with the mini bye in play. I can't imagine any scenario where he'd by fired on Monday.

Coaches are heavily implying that Coleman isn’t trying on the field

Coleman can't separate from a toilet bowl after flushing. not such a problem with Davis. He was of infinitely more value for the draft pick than Coleman. -

You forgot…..when Josh doesn’t make it. 4th Down: Run some ridiculous cite play because you think just pushing your 6-5 QB isn’t fair to the defense. -

At eleven seconds, Samuel is open with only one man to beat and there is an 8 yard cushion, Samuel is on the 42 and the Dolphins safety is at the 50 and that could have been a 20 yard gain at minimum with a bullet from Josh and then Samuel is then doubled only after Josh begins to scramble to the right. I think there 3 receivers that could have been targeted on this play. Having looked at this play several times, it just shows you how long a second can be in the NFL, at one point also at eleven seconds, Samuel is at the 38, Josh is set, the pocket appears clean and an in stride reception could be a touchdown if Samuel wins the foot race because defensive attention is not directly at Samuel and he is only receiver running free with his body going towards the end zone. I might be wrong but it is what I think on this play! -

Let's play that one out. Who gets the interim internal promotion for the remainder of this season? Because you cannot install a new offense between Monday and the game in Houston on Thursday night.
