Kaiir Elam discussing the last 2 years & his struggles...
Eastport bills replied to BigDingus's topic in The Stadium Wall
Elam’s problem is that he hasn’t been coachable and insisted on relying on his athleticism to play the position. He didn’t change his approach even after being downgraded on the depth chart. Basically, he should have been moved while he had trade value but teams hate to admit whiffing on 1st rounders. I’ll believe he can play the position effectively when I see it, until then he’s a stubborn head case. -
What to do with the post June $10 M that will be available
Matt_In_NH replied to Magox's topic in The Stadium Wall
I really think the smart move here is nothing/minimal if anything. You need money for draft picks (couple million-ish), practice squad (a few million) and in season injury replacements (4-6 million). That takes up the June 1 windfall....now they can restructure people still to create money when they need it, so they could just spend it. If you add someone, you are bumping someone off the raft. At t his point I see a reasonable 53 with some questsions. There will be TC cuts, in season moves etc.....so lets not let it burn a hole in our pocket.... -

You must not know about the plea deal DOJ had in place with Hunter. No surprise there.- 1 reply

Joe has such a strong iron grip on the DOJ that he got them to take his son to court.

That might be the explanation . There’s a difference between mischaracterizing a campaign expense and not declaring a campaign expense. I don’t know anything about the Hillary issue, though, so not fair for me to say. And, in any event, it doesn’t change that what trump did is a crime.
-
I’ll give it you you straight. The FEC expert contention is garbage. Anyone pushing that doesn’t know what they’re talking about. Experts don’t opine on conclusions of law. Now, precluding testimony that the FEC determined not to charge Trump is a different ball of wax. That’s a discretionary call. I think it should have come in. Others may disagree. And, even if the first department agrees with me, the question will be whether the error is harmless under a nonconstituonal standard. I doubt that it is, although I didn’t sit through the trial. Venue contentions also are trash for reasons that distill to each juror either did or should have unequivocally assured impartiality. If that didn’t happen (highly unlikely) then it’s on defense counsel to object/challenge. Absence of objection there potentially is ineffective assistance of counsel but only through a 440 motion. But I’d doubt that would be raised because it seems like trump is going to do the unorthodox thing of having Blanche handle the post-trial litigation (who likely won’t contend that he was ineffective). sufficieny and weight contentions don’t have legs. Having read the final jury instructions and assuming the media reports of the *****, cohen, and hicks testimony are accurate, it’s a slam dunk on the facts. (This case is incredibly complicated on the law, but once one understands that piece, it’s pretty easy on the facts.) statute of limitations challenge similarly is junk. That contention involves only the felonies, for which the statute had not run. so there’s your nonpartisan analysis. All of these whiners about rigged trial and whatnot are clueless. Want to say that he shouldn’t have been prosecuted? I’ll listen. Maybe there’s an appellate argument laying around somewhere about unequal enforcement of this law. But the jury appears (see above re media reports) to have done the right thing on this all day long.

Knox didn’t deserve that contract and it’s hard to understand why they gave it to him. He’s not durable and still drops too many catchable balls. If he emerges this season with Brady carving out 12 personnel plays for him maybe they’re seeing untapped potential in him. I personally would rather have an effective blocking TE with Kincaid being a primary target and Josh having better protection.

Buffalo has exactly the number of hotel rooms it needs (more, actually).

But it was only fantasy The wall was too high as you can see No matter how he tried he could not break free And the worms ate into his brain

Punters may have an impact on bad teams (maybe). Not on SB contenders. Bills were #30 in Punts last season. Punters are the cheapest guy....there are onloy 3 getting over 3 million a year.

You'd be surprised by the number of our fellow grads that align more with me than you politically. But how in the world do you know my "social scene"? Most of my friends are small businesses owners, retired cops/fireman or work in finance. Trust me, I am anything but an outlier in that group, if anything I am consided a dirty hippy.

I'm coming if it happens.

2023 Xgames averaged 459,000 viewers. not sure what tennis matches you are asking about. both events are cheaper to produce than a season of football. both events are annual one offs, not months long seasons spread across the country that the networks are themselves sponsoring. UFL, outside of St Louis, can't get any fans to show up to the games. Now that the networks are league owners, they will feel the heat directly. XFL alone lost 60 million just in 2023.

OT and 1-Tech depth. I'm not sure if we are going to get a big year from Von either. I wouldn't mind more competition at CB and both Rapp and Edwards are average NFL safeties. Bishop is a rookie as is Coleman. I'm not saying our rookies aren't going to be good, but how soon? I guess we'll see how things progress this Summer. Injury (Knock on wood) may force our hand. Our defense has been decimated by injuries lately. I'm of the opinion that we could have won the SB had Von, Milano and White been 100% or close to it. 3 points we got bounced by. Those 3 could easily made that difference and more. I guess what I really want is a difference maker rather than several depth caliber guys. -

Am I really the first person to fact check you in this megathread? What has made you so violently change your tune here, Tibsy? Why all the blood lust 10 years later? Or is it that you feel guilty about your earlier position? -
