Evaulation (of this team) after a quarter of season gone

The offense also put the defense on a shorter field a couple of their drives and the defense mostly held up. This game not being a massive blow out was more so on the offense than the defense in my opinion. -

Big picture, the Bills are taking care of business by whatever means necessary. They have many ways to move the chains and score. The D makes big stops at the most important times. Everything else is just noise. These guys are winners. -
9/28/2025 Bills vs Saints post game thread
KOKBILLS replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
I've been saying since mid 23 it's part scheme, part personnel, and part coaching... I still think that's basically true, though I think like you seem to the stubbornness to stick to whatever it is they do seems to have empowered even below average offenses when in years past it confused them and led to easy victories and high ranked Defenses. And before anyone jump in on that point yes, I know they had better personnel then as well. But I don't have the answers past the fact that the Bills are going to have to get lucky and have players...like Cole Bishop for example...turn into great players. They are Drafting towards the bottom every year and seemingly missing out on impact-types. Here's what the Bills added to the Defense in Days 1-2 in the Draft from 2022-24... Kaiir Elam Terrel Bernard Dorian Williams Cole Bishop DeWayne Carter That's it... 3 on the Roster right now with Bishop far and away the player with the most promise. Now, I get they have to Draft on Offense and I'm glad they did... But missing on the Elam and Carter picks hurts, even if you're talking about getting an average level NFL player. And Williams, for all his athletic ability, has not developed into the every-down-type of LB they were hoping for. As for this years bunch it's way, way too early of course... Based on my personal rankings Jihad Campbell was the highest ranked player on my board available to the Bills at #30... And it was not even close... I had Campbell as the #11 overall player on my board... I viewed him as exactly what the Bills desperately need... An impact player. Granted at a position where they seemingly had some depth... But still... I had Max exactly at #30 overall...The Bills traded WAY up to get Sanders...and I like Sanders...but I just assumed they would be looking at a bigger, more stout vs the run type... They Drafted Sanders at #41 overall and I had him at #48... So not bad value... It's tough to argue with the Sanders pick. I know some folks preferred Alfred Collins, but I agree with Beane on the pass rush upside for TJ. I just think TJ is a year away. He's going to need a full year of NFL strength and conditioning. I loved everything about Landon Jackson. How the Bills are not allowing him work out the kinks early is beyond be. I've got nothing against Javon Solomon, but Jackson has legit upside and he's they type of player that is going to win every now and again... Plus he's relentless... I definitely think he'll be better and stronger next year though... Maybe they are just being patient. Lastly, I heard a caller on WGR this AM who basically said he's actually very excited about the Defense because, in his opinion, this will be the worst it looks all year. It's early, we have the injuries, the suspensions, the young players cutting their teeth... And I do think there is some validity to that prediction. Especially considering Oliver has been out and they just seem to be better when Milano is in there. We'll see down the stretch... But I'm not holding my breath. -
It may have been the execution, particularly Van Demark's, but to me this was a bad call. It's 4th and short and so the defense is mostly worried about Josh or Cook up the middle. That is where the surge is going to come from. So, if you want to run a trick play to catch them off guard, you want to run away from where the pressure is. The Moore touchdown against the Jets is a good example. I haven't rewatched it, but at the time it did not look like one player blew the play up but like there was a giant traffic jam right where Shakir received the ball.

The Worthy Trade Keeps Looking Worse and Worse

And yet there are posters on this forum who will defend Beane trading picks to KC. I don’t care what we get back! There should be a firm WE DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH KANSAS CITY rule in our front office. -

They also upgraded the worst LT situation in the league with Josh Simmons. -

Worthy is good. It is as simple as that. Anyone arguing against that at this point is just being a KC hatwr. He has dangerous speed, good hands and he is developing a really nice slant game as well. I hated trading to KC at the time and I hate it now. -
Dont move goal posts. The person you responded to simply made a comment alluding to many people not paying attention to halftime shows (and thus it doesn’t matter who performs). Nothing about advertising revenue.

The only possibility that Lamar didn’t quit on his team is if he had a preexisting injury that they knew about and he said he re-aggravated it. Because if it was a new injury, how they treated it made no sense. He got almost no attention from the trainers. They wrapped a tiny ice pack on the side of his leg and he sat the rest of the game. I’m thinking he did quit/was pulled. For a comparison, Allen broke his hand and played with a goofy glove half of last season. He broke his nose against the Jets and was out for 3 plays.

To be fair, that was the excuse for Elam too. ”he just isn’t getting the playing time” Turns out that there is a very good reason he wasn’t getting playing time. Let’s see how Dallas fans are liking him:

You're assuming. Any given Sunday. He's not slow (like Koleman jk), but he get's a step or two. And he is the best router runner on the team. And he primary plays the outside role. To be fair, half the FA pickups haven't played a down yet. -
that is not what matters. What matters is that number. That is what advertising prices are based on. That is an aburd number. Try and get 100 Million plus people to watch anything!

Isn’t the head coach a defensive expert? -
Of course the lame stream media can't forget to stick the Trump thing in there OMG it wouldn't be a story if it wasn't just that the person was a total basket case or just plain bat ***** crazy there has to be that link - WTF !!! Got to make it political at all costs ! Could it be that the guy had PTSD from being in a useless war that our gov't sent them over to fight or that he just hates the Mormon religion and doesn't believe at all in their doctrine ? NOPE IT'S A TRUMP THING BY GOD !!!! ALL VIOLENCE LEADS TO TRUMP .... WTFE .

Keep the number of calories you eat low Eat lots of greens like little green peas, spinach and green beans Also make sure you eat stuff like blueberries, cherries and apples Try and incorporate extra virgin olive oil and avocados into your diet And make sure you exercise a lot If you don't want to do it for yourself, do it for those that love you...or! Do it to spite those you hate so you out live those rotten POS! 😇

That’s what the numbers say because people don’t actively turn their television off during halftime. But how many people are actually WATCHING it (versus talking to friends in the kitchen, eating pizza, etc)?

This is my biggest head scratcher this season. What happened to Ray Davis? He looked very promising last year and through the first 4 games this year (and even back in preseason) he's show Karlos Williams levels of regression. Here's my thing with Davis's regression. James Cook is our most dangerous and productive player on offense not named Josh Allen (but I think he may be at Allen's level of importance to the offense). However as great as he is I fear he's not built to be a bell cow back. Come later in the season and the playoffs I fear all these early touches are going to take their toll on him. We need someone that can take a bit of his plate especially early in the season. Davis isn't it. Ty Johnson had a great year last year but is showing a bit of regression as well. Is it time to give Baby Gore a couple of call ups to see if he can be a guy? I would. It's not like he could be a downgrade to Davis at this point.

Totally agree, but I think what makes it worse (and this may be misguided) is that if McD thought he would be any help he would be in there over even Solomon or Epinesa with a clear pec issue for the Saints game... that kinda tells me that he just isnt ready to contribute.. I hope that changes, but who knows...

Wrong. Watch the game and see how many guys were in a position to make a tackle and didn’t. How many guys failed assignments. -
So, let me get this straight, and I'm not picking a fight with you or anyone. But, Rosseau is supposedly close to elite. Bosa is a stud, if he's healthy. And Oliver is a beast according to many here (I think because he sometimes makes splash plays). But yet, the line sucks every frigging game. So, what's wrong? And if McDermitt truly is over-coaching all of them, particularly Rosseau, it doesn't really make sense that he brought back one of the biggest free-lancing players in the NFL in Phillips. In addition, Bosa constantly gets sucked in to middle running plays and loses the edge. His play so far, should be driving McDermott nuts. I'm glad we have Bosa, but if we have to play the Ravens again, or the Chiefs when games are actually important, he scares the crap outta me. Nothing here is matching any guesses out there as to what's wrong. I'm in the camp of these guys aren't that good. Never really have been. They aren't bad either. We just have a bunch of middle of the road guys without a star. We need to hit on some damn draft picks for a guy that is actually a stud.
-
This is not a normal thing, they usually are exceptional with saving timeouts...McDermott says they are like "gold" in terms of value at the end of games and we typically have all of them. Let's just call it what it is and say it wasn't an exceptionally sharp game in many aspects and that's not the norm.

Hello mafia. My best friend is flying from Italy with his wife to be at the KC game. He bought tickets on stubhub for Section 210, Row 11 seats 17 and 18. When he claimed the tickets...he said they show up as seats 17 and 20 and he claims that stubhub says they are next to each other. He asked me if they were next to each other and I don't know where to point him to find out. Any of you guys know or know where to find out? Thanks! Go Bills!°
