And even after all that, if the refs keep the flag in their pockets on that OPI call, we still win the game. Yes, it was a penalty according to the letter of the law. But if they called that every time, most screen passes would be flagged. But yeah, 22-31, 253, 2TD, 1INTs should win most games. Lost in all the angst is that Dalton Kincaid had his first 100-yard receiving game. So yeah, there was enough offense there to win the game and the defense also did well enough. It was the turnovers and penalties that lost it.

Diggs was probably trying to be alpha dog #1 when he was here and that probably rubbed Josh the wrong way. Everything with them seemed great until the Cincy Divisional Playoff game, super awkward between them mostly after that. Game week thread - Bills at Falcons MNF
PaattMaann replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
We are better by a mile at the only position it matters, Josh Allen. Falcons have the 1st best pass defense as far as yards per game, guess who #2 is? The Bills. What's that tell you? That isn't a good indicator of pass defense. They have also only played Baker Mayfield as a good QB. Their run defense is not very good at all. Advanced metrics put their overall defense is middle of the pack. I think their D is leaps and bounds better than it has been, but I am no where near scared of it. COULD the Falcons win? Yes. of course. But the Bills are favored, on the road, for a reason. We are better. -

https://www.axios.com/2025/10/07/virginia-jay-jones-fundraiser it took repeated prodding for you to call this loser out. The prominent non-maga politicians of our country seem reluctant to do the same. Shameless you say… Incorrect. Educating pinheads like you and Roundy, while done frequently due to your hysterical nature, is not done on demand. -
The panic might be even worse after this weekend's affair. The Falcons are the #1 defense in yards allowed per game at 244 yds. They have the #1 pass defense at 135 yds per game. Their rush defense is middle of the pack. We need to ride the legs of Cook, Allen, and Johnson, while sprinkling in some play-action passes to keep the defense honest. Our defense also needs to have Benford shadow London wherever he goes, and key on the run while ALWAYS having someone focused on Bijan Robinson. They better NEVER leave him alone. He is both their leading rusher AND receiver. He is truly the focal point of their offense. If Babich and McDermott come into this game unprepared, we will see a repeat of Sunday night. That being an L.

They have much better weapons on offense than the Bills do. Their defense is better than the Bills. They are playing at home. I guess those reasons mainly. -
We want to find things in the actual football to blame, but it really was the two unforced turnovers and the illegal procedure penalty (GET LINED UP CORRECTLY, YOU MORONS!!!). On that illegal procedure penalty. It negated a 8-yard Ty Johnson run that would have put the Bills at 3-2 at the NE 29. They convert that nine times out of ten, but at worst they get 3 points and an early lead. But becuase Palmer can't do the simpliest thing correctly, the Bills were at 2-10 from the NE 42. They punted after two stupid passes to Keon, but that penalty killed a drive. Then they had another illegal formation penalty on the f-ing punt. The Bills lost because they were sloppy in the first half, letting the Pats feel their way into the game. Then in the second half, Maye played out of his mind and we lost by 3. But the Bills could have stepped on them early and changed the entire feel of them game if not for the unforced errors. BTW, that pass to Diggs that Maye made, falling to his knee,s gave us a glimpse of what it's like to watch your team play Josh Allen.

Beans and Sean - Should we miss the SB again
Nihilarian replied to Cubanmist 1's topic in The Stadium Wall
Believe it or not, Sean McDermott was a first-time NFL HC hire by Buffalo. McD was the Carolina DC before coming here, and before that, he was the DC in Philly under Andy Reid. His roots go back to 1999, and he was an NFL scouting coordinator for the Eagles, Assistant HC, Defensive quality control, assistant DB coach, secondary, and linebackers, then DC. Don't some of you realize the culture the man has built in Buffalo? What are the words "the process"? NFL players now love coming and playing in Buffalo. This simply wasn't the case before McD, as players didn't like the small city, small media life, the small nightlife, or the cold weather. Now it's a family affair, and players feel the brotherly love towards each other. This type of atmosphere simply doesn't happen very often with other NFL teams. Where was the Bills mafia previous to 2017? In his first year in Buffalo, McD took this team to the playoffs with Tyrod Taylor and Nathan Peterman at QB. His first draft, before Beane even got to Buffalo, the Bills drafted Tre White, Dion Dawkins, and Matt Milano. McD wasn't happy with the way the Buffalo offense was headed, so he fired his first hire at OC in Rick Dennison. Side note, Bobby Babich was LBers' coach at that time. McD hired Brian Daboll as his next OC, and Brandon Beane came on board as GM right after that 2017 draft. For 2018, Beane traded up a few times to the #7 spot to draft QB Josh Allen. McD has made many changes to his coaching staff over the years, and he does like to promote within. Side note, the Cleveland Browns passed on Josh Allen not once but twice. The majority of this board was clamoring for Buffalo to give up the farm to trade up to the #2 spot with the NY Giants...to draft Josh Rosen! Yeah, that's right, as very few of the Bills fans wanted JA, as he was labeled too inaccurate. A noted poster on this site rated him as a third-round pick due to his inaccuracy. Cleveland, NYG, NYJ, Cleveland, Denver, and Indy all passed on Allen in that draft. Beane and McD knew who they wanted and went after him. The rest, as they say, is history. This current owner saw what he got after he hired his first HC in Rex Ryan ...which didn't go well for two seasons. The difference was and is night and day! I can tell you guys right now, there is no way in hell this owner changes his head coach or GM for that matter. -

Why would either team SHOULD win? No victory is cemented before the game starts. Falcons defense is really good. We're on their turf, too. This is another hard fought battle. Don't expect huge numbers from Josh Allen and our WRs because Falcons are damn good at defending the pass. -

Browns Jags Swap Corners and Picks

To your point, the Browns play more man than any team in the NFL. https://www.sharpfootballanalysis.com/stats-nfl/nfl-coverage-schemes/ And just because I'm posting that table, the Bills also play man coverage sometimes. In fact, they are middle of the pack in the league in man vs. zone. So no, THEY DO NOT ONLY PLAY A "SOFT ZONE!" -
Oh yea it definitely could’ve been…I was just commenting on how weird it is that bills fans of all people would take 40ish minutes of great defensive play for granted 😂. the flip side of how people are criticizing the defense in this one would be Josh absolutely lighting it up for 40 ish mins then jumping all over him for two bad drives because the defense couldn’t seal the game on the final drive. Everyone blames the defense in that situation too though haha idk how people can have it both ways. It was very much a team loss

Gotta say… of all the takes I've read this week… this one seems the most accurate to my eyes. The Bills looked like the Bills. On defense, they gave up plays, but made enough plays to keep them to 6 points in the first half. The offense was moving the ball around well… until they weren’t. Just too many penalities and the turnovers, obviously. Granted, I contend a lot of the penalties were extremely ticky tack calls, while they let the Pats get by with much more. Yes, Palmer may have been more than a yard off the line, but he was maybe 1.25 yards off the line. It was not blatantly bad, and in most all instances that alignment isn't called. That all being said, the Pats just had a solidly good game plan. And they came in fired up and wanting that win more. Diggs played his best game in like 4? years! The Bills did what they've been doing… and didn't match the intensity of the game. My concern after this game is that they, as a team, are becoming too predictable. Allen likes to roll out to his right when the drive/game is on the line; so they overloaded the right side, and forced him into the teeth of their line. That, along with sound run defense, made for a tough game and Brady had little plan or ability to counter it. Even still, if the Bills don't turn the ball over or get a couple penalties on every drive (or the refs call PI when Shakir gets tackled), they probably win the game. The defense.. well its just always going to be what it is.. bend and pray they don't break. Which may be fine, but they need to have a Plan B for stopping an offense that only needs a FG with 2 mins or less in a game! In that situation, bending means you will break when kickers can easily make 50+ yarders now. Speaking of WRs getting tackled, is it just me or does Coleman seem to get mugged on almost every catch he makes? I get it, he's slow. He doesn't get separation. But it seems every time I see him going up after a ball a defender is draped all over him.

Rapps drop off is huge. He was the Bills best tackler. Not this year. He already has 4 missed tackles. And that is not counting the numerous times Rapp took the wrong angle. Rapp only had 4 missed tackles in all of 2024. Something is very off with Rapp. I’m wondering if his last big hit is effecting him. Angles and tackling is basic fundamentals. It’s like Rapp forgot how to play football well. So yes, I would consider Hamlin. And I would consider to trade for an upgrade
