Bills 4th Round Pick : Deone Walker - DT - Kentucky
EmotionallyUnstable replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
I am only through the first half, but Walker was very solid vs the run. Check out this goal line play following the Josh int in the first. Text book way to handle a double. He engages both blockers, keeping his LB clean while splitting the double giving up no ground and still working his way into the ball carrier. Just a high level play. Looking forward to see him continue to improve (and stay healthy!) -
Actually, my friend that was an excellent bit of information. Haven't even thought about Siran Neal in years. You're on point. Once upon a time, when the Bills released someone they were out of the league not long after. I remember so many picks that we had that just flamed out of the league. Some would get second chances elsewhere (Ko Simpson springs to mind) but they wouldn't stick.

Should we look to trade Keon after this season?
BADOLBILZ replied to GreggTX's topic in The Stadium Wall
When you aren't playing well you look slow. Remember when people were saying Spencer Brown didn't have the feet to play tackle? You can't expect to get early career boundary WR1 results from the 8th WR selected in a draft. But they did. What was maddening was the marketing of him as a rookie.........all the merch that was made by the team and the ridiculous expectations that created. I don't even remember them marketing Allen like that as a rookie but certainly no-non QB rookie in memory was given the treatment like that. And some of the color that made him interesting to the Bills marketing department was clearly a red flag about his maturity level. -

One of these teams believes their season is not yet over. The other doesn't have that belief. -

According to Cover 1, Coleman will be a healthy scratch

First of all we don't know that stupidity is the issue with Coleman. Personally I don't think that's what it is. And I don't know why it's funny that some people choose to have faith in a person. IMO hopefulness is a virtue and not deserving of being mocked. -

I agree that the Steeler's can't score many points without turn overs coming their way. But, Pittsburgh has always been a tough place to play for the Bills. It's the stadium and crowd. -
Athletically, he can be as good as anyone. It's just a matter of his instincts and his understanding of his role in the system.

Say what you want about Devante Parker, but he was maybe the best big slow career ever. His rookie season vs Keon’s 50 targets 26 rec 494 yards and 3 TDs, 19 YPC 57 targets 29 rec 556 yards and 4 TDs, 19.2 YPC, they are basically peas in a pod -

Maybe he was just saying "I ain't no Santonio Holmes" ? -
Yeah, um, no. No, it wouldn't. His answer works perfectly fine, and to assume it shows an issue says more about you and your feelings on this than it does about McDermott. Where does it say, "every," you ask? It says, "like any player." That's where "every" comes from though he used a synonym. "He has times, just like any player." Clearly he's having problems making it to meetings. Which is unbelievable immaturity. I'm a lot less likely to support Keon now, but what McDermott said simply did not imply that he had bigger problems on the field than most.

To transplant a 25 or 26 yr old brain into his 22 1/2 yr old body. There just may be a reason why Sam Darnold started to really ball at age 26. Honestly, think of the 21-23 yr old young men you know. Some of them have it together. They pay attention, listen to what they're told, take feedback well, stay "humble and hungry". Others make you wonder how the human race survived because they seem to have NO sense, including no sense of perspective or self-preservation. Then you throw money into the mix. A young guy from a financially limited background, now he's got a multi-million dollar signing bonus in the bank and is pocketing a the average starting salary for a 2025 college graduate, $70k - EVERY WEEK. He walks into any bar with a hundred thou of bling around his neck. Heads turn. Ladies want to "talk" to him. This is the life!!! It may not be an accident that Coleman's crappiest games were in Atlanta and in Miami, both cities with good night life (caveat: I have NO info that Coleman is out there clubbing. It's just a guess.) That's basically why the "hit rate" in the first couple rounds of the draft is so low. Occasionally players can't adapt to the league physically, but more often it's a mental and emotional thing. It's hard to focus on what the coaches are telling you and be self-critical yet confident, when the message given by the money you suddenly have is "I'm in the Big Time, I've Arrived!". Teams try to do their homework, get a sense of who the player is about, talk to their coaches and trainers and teammates. But that doesn't always work. And sometimes people just change when they get the Do-Re-Mi.

Passer rating is not dependent on quality. I have gotten quite a bit more confident in the pass defense over the past month or so.

Sounds like a Cowboys home game -
This means you don't understand the passer rating. It is a measure of success pass by pass, not game by game. A good passer rating means you're better at pass defense than a bad passer rating. Period

Glad someone said this about Poyer. He's not as fast as he used to be, but he's looking pretty solid and his understanding get him started a step early. Don't expect him here next year unless it's as a coach or a de facto coach on the practice squad. Hancock is sure athletic enough. Will he get it? I hope so. I like this safety group. A lot more than I did a month ago.

Probably a future Patriot, what with all their cap space and need at WR. I hope he destroys that franchise from the inside, as he is wont to do.
