Elijah Moore Visiting the Bills today (Update: Signed!)
Kirby Jackson replied to bills742's topic in The Stadium Wall
I like the signing and wanted him in that draft. Moore and Palmer are guys that get open with their route running. That’s something that the Bills missed last year. They had to run so many plays around the LOS because of the lack of separation. They were at their best when they could just get the ball in someone’s hands. These 2 will add a dimension that’s been missing. I haven’t followed him closely as a pro. When he was coming out there was a belief that he could get down the field. He did a lot of that at Ole Miss with double moves. I saw last year he averaged like 8 yards a catch so I’m assuming that there wasn’t much of that. Maybe it was QB or scheme. Maybe he just hasn’t been able to do it like the scouting reports thought he could. It’s probably a little of all of that. Despite his size the Bills should try to use him to get down the field. Overall, it’s a nice addition and makes that room better. -

Elijah Moore's QB was Zach Wilson. nuf said. No one knows what he is capable of as yet. We shall see. -
Would I know I picked the song, and under these circumstances? If I knew I'd picked the song it would probably be Baba O'Riley. It'd be about the best song for keeping my spirit alive- knowing I could only listen to 1 song for the rest of my life- which would be the death of me. But if I didn't know about the choice, or maybe even other music at all, I might go with something like San Tropez

Tattoo truthers. Love it. Anyway, every sane person here realizes that if the tattoos on his knuckles literally spelled out "MS13" that the left would still be hand waving around it, right? The MS13 could mean anything, do you have proof that it refers to the brutal terrorist gang? And really, why would we expect anything else from the Joe Biden is mentally fit crew?

All for paying Cook if he accepts reasonable value. If he won't accept $15M per year, thanks for your hard work, James. But in any case, he'll be here this year. The problem is next year. -
Nope, he's gone. Wait, we're talking September 2032, right?

"Coming in Hot" is an apt description. Wow. Beane very defensive about the WR room.

What the heck are you talking about?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? BoM simply referred to some of the high praise Moore had received from some NFL folks, including Zierlien's comment comparing him to Brown, and you say that? He added something very relevant, timely, to this conversation. What did you add? Zero--as it has no legitimacy. (Maybe take a cue from this type of post?) An extremely telling, monumentally common way that the haters go about their business, as loose with the facts (and reason) now as anything I have ever seen on this board in my over two decades on here. I would bet a lot that is what one would find out you are with just a little time reading your former posts. This post should stand out to all who read that complete garbage; worthless. Yeah, so not worth a response, I get it, but no way can he just get with that misrepresentation. With his last three words It is as if he is holding a mirror up and staring right into it -

Keon and Dalton didn't show up to the playoffs because both were injured pretty badly. Keon had a broken wrist and Dalton couldn't move well with his leg problems. And the idea that Beane signed Amari out of desperation is purely from your own imagination. Maybe it seemed like a good deal, and a good chance to try out a guy who might be terrific, possibly even so terrific that we'd extend his contract or sign him for another year or two. Same with the idea that Amari was responsible for the improvement. Allen started the year with one WR he'd ever worked with before and a bunch of very young guys as the keys. Being surprised it took a few weeks for them all to get on the same page is like being shocked by snow in the wintertime in Buffalo. If Amari was the reason for all that improvement, how come when he was off the field (which was a lot), there was no fall-off in performance? The correct answer? Because it wasn't "the Amari Cooper effect." It was the team starting to work together better. Cooper helped a bit, but the idea that he was the one behind all the improvement is flat-out ridiculous. Wrong question. It just is. The question is this: Is there an NFL team with a weaker passing game than the Bills? The answer is nearly all of them. It's been said before a million times, most recently by Beane, but a million times before that. The goal in football is to have the best team. Not the best wide receiver group. -

I mean... for reference from the 2021 draft: 26th player for Daniel Jeremiah: Junior Moore is an undersized wideout with outstanding versatility, quickness and toughness. He has experience lining up outside, in the slot and in the backfield. He has excellent quickness in his release and is clean/crisp at the top of routes. He gets a lot of quick hitters, and he's very elusive after the catch. He also makes some huge plays over the top, tracking the ball naturally and showing reliable hands. He is effective when used as a runner out of the backfield, too. He hits the hole full-go and can make defenders miss. Overall, Moore lacks size, but he'll be a stud in the slot and can also help in the return game. 35th player for Dane Brugler: STRENGTHS: Balanced athlete with the ability to gear up/down and accelerate out of his cuts…runs routes with tempo and controlled urgency…quick-thinking, decisive ball carrier to set up moves and force missed tackles…able to win vertically with sluggos or double-moves…quick to reach his route depth, calm his feet and give his quarterback a clean target…strong hands with excellent focus at the catch point (credited with only one drop on 101 targets in 2020)…looks comfortable going across the middle of the field…short, but not small with firm muscle definition…not shy lowering his pads to barrel through tackle attempts…emerged as the featured playmaker in the Ole Miss offense, breaking AJ Brown’s school record for receptions in a season (86). WEAKNESSES: Lacks ideal height/length for the position…a few branches missing from his route tree, primarily in the intermediate part of the field…production was inflated by scheme, which created open opportunities for him…unproven as an outside receiver and didn’t face much press in the slot, allowing him to free release…few examples on tape of him winning contested windows downfield…inexperienced and inconsistent blocker, missing landmarks and struggling to sustain…earned an immature label after his urinating dog touchdown celebration (November 2019) in the final moments of the Egg Bowl led to Ole Miss falling to Mississippi State. [44] SUMMARY: A three-year starter at Ole Miss, Moore was a high-volume slot/backfield target in head coach Lane Kiffin’s up-tempo spread scheme. He thrived with quick, underneath throws (jet sweeps, screens, slants, etc.) and took advantage of being force-fed the football, leading the SEC in catches (10.8) and receiving yards (149.1) per game in 2020. Moore plays fast, decisive and dependable and can be used as a matchup receiver in space, tracking the ball and making defenders miss. He was more of a specialty receiver in college and has plenty to prove as a downfield target. Overall, Moore doesn’t have the tape of a well-rounded receiver, but he is an athletic and controlled route runner with strong hands. He projects as a flexible chess piece who can be as productive as his volume. GRADE: 2nd Round (No. 35 overall) -

You summed it up verry well here Wiz. I did the exact same thing.. We can agree on one thing though... This was not the best of looks for Beane or WGR. -
Recession is upon us - disastrous economic data
Doc Brown replied to Big Blitz's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
That's actual legislation that would have to passed through Congress. There's already lawsuits in states and businesses across the country challenging whether Trump isn't abusing the International Emergency Economic Powers Act with his tariffs. The stock market could see a lot of volatility based on the results of these lawsuits. -

Puh-leeze! I mean, yeah if you distort what people say you can sound as if you're making terrific points against them. But replying to a straw man doesn't accomplish squat, you're only replying to your own imagination. Where are all the people saying that "Josh shouldn't have a #1 wide receiver"? I see plenty saying it's not necessary to having a terrific offense. I see plenty saying there are a ton of great offenses without a #1, including the one that's won three Super Bowls lately. I don't see anyone saying Josh "shouldn't" have one. Where are all the people saying we "shouldn't have ... one who can stretch the field and separate"? I see plenty saying that he already has enough. Plenty saying he already has one or even more, what with Shakir and Palmer getting separation and Keon and Samuel and Palmer who can catch long balls. Plenty using a few other thought variations. None saying he "shouldn't" have someone who can stretch the field and separate. -

Great; sharp, clear, objective analysis of this. The kind of take those who believe your quote (now in bold above) will completely ignore, but may even bash, as they cannot compete with it, have zero of this clarity, insight, and most of all, objectivity. Needed, and really well said from beginning to end. But I just checked your activity--WTF!? You need to start posting MORE! The board can really use these kinds of takes right now, to counter the irrational, have no reason at all posters you so easily put in their place at the end. How can anything in your personal life possibly be more important than doing what's right by the Bils? So stop being so selfish and please get on board. -

GASabresIUFan replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
Considering that Davis averaged a full yard per carry less than Cook, I'd say there is a pretty large gap between the two players. As to Shakir, he has the potential to be up there, as do Coleman and Kincaid. Beane has never drafted a 1000 yard receiver. Cook was his first 1000 yard rusher and he has now done it twice. Right now I'd probably argue that Singletary is 3rd on the list after Cook. Devin had 4 seasons of 950 to 1100 yards of offense. Gabe Davis' best season was 836 yards. -
