Our drafts have been good for the most part. The mistakes to me have been when they've drafted position of need over best player available. Rarely does the position of need step in year 1 and play at high level. There's enough turnover in the league that the "best player available"s position will be a need in a season or two. I think this is why Beane has been very good in later rounds. Philadelphia has been great at letting someone fall to them (probably from Alabama or Georgia)

Pete Rose, Shoeless Joe Jackson among others reinstated by MLB

I grew up with my favorite player was Rickey Henderson who proved that you can be dangerous with small ball. Sorry to think his records would fall to some roided up snot nose kid would anger me to no end. -
Trump’s trip to the Middle East
All_Pro_Bills replied to Big Blitz's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
You could be asking why the US has something like 600 military bases in foreign countries around the world. And I'd answer that's how Empires work. As for the ME, guarding the oil fields in the region, enforcing the petrodollar trade settlement system, and inhibiting China from gaining a strategic footprint in the region. -
Potential Derek Chauvin Pardon
Roundybout replied to SCBills's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Theres going to be absolutely no peace. People are already furious. Why do you continue to poke the hornets’ nest? People like BMan and the like continue to cry and scream over Minneapolis “burning down” (a little bit of hysteria, as @JDHillFan puts it). There will be more protests in kind. And as I’ve said, I don’t support Mangione but I sure as hell understand where he’s coming from and how a lot of people feel the same way as him. People are fed up with a broken healthcare system that continues to slog along even when better solutions are staring us in the face. -
So, a different receiver, who is a different type of receiver, runs different routes, is used differently and was healthy last year, performed well? Well, you've certainly made a point there. But not one that has much of anything to do with Kincaid. I like Hollins. Was disappointed to hear they hadn't re-signed him. You too? Is that your point?

Potential Derek Chauvin Pardon
BillsFanNC replied to SCBills's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Roundy also has gone on record saying that murdering ICE agents in the course of carrying out their lawful orders and duties is perfectly acceptable. Ignore. And to bring it back to Chauvin, a fair and impartial jury of his peers is completely laughable without even going into the biased judge and lying prosecution witnesses. There was a very loud pitchfork mob outside that courtroom every single day with the very clear message that they would commence burning Minneapolis again if the proper verdict wasn't reached. -
First, catch rate is NOT a receiver stat. It is a stat that takes a ton of different things into account, QB, weather, defense, on and on and on. Receiver too, don't get me wrong, but a whole ton of other things as well. I mean, if the QB misses him by 30 yards, it's still an attempt and an incompletion, in other words, it causes the numbers to slip. If the pass is perfect but the DT knocks it up in the air and intercepts it ... still an attempt, still an incompletion, still lowers the numbers for that receiver. Second, he apparently had several injuries, not just the one. So that could help explain why it wasn't only after Week 10 that he was underwhelming. Third, as pointed out above, he had one of the lowest catchable target rates in football, 36th. If your catchable target rate was 36th and your catch rate was 31st, you're actually over-performing.

Potential Derek Chauvin Pardon
leh-nerd skin-erd replied to SCBills's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
And I’m responding to your post specifically when you suggest people will get what they deserve. Based on the actions of extreme (and sadly formerly moderate liberals), what was deserved before a Chauvin pardon was an execution style murder in the street by a lunatic. I think that people who support Mangione and contribute to his wealth fund give less than a cr@p about habeus corpus. So I ask you…should Trump federally pardon Chauvin, what comes next? Will it be worse than the execution of Brian Thompson? Is that what you’re advocating for? -
Pete Rose, Shoeless Joe Jackson among others reinstated by MLB
Royale with Cheese replied to Gregg's topic in Off the Wall
Since baseball isn't a contact sport, I honestly say let them roid up. The game would be more exciting with regular 100 mph fastballs and 500 foot homeruns. Not to mention the speed on the basepaths and canons from the outfield. I've known two guys who roided and they both said it makes a huge difference and you feel it quick. Just wanted to throw my $.02 If Rose did truly cheat, I was okay with the banning. Shoeless Joe, I mean a solid argument can be made he didn't cheat himself. He had a great World Series. -

Does the placement of the bye week really matter?

A week with no advertising revenue? I won’t hold my breath on that one. This is the NFL. -
Trump’s trip to the Middle East

So why does America have that many thousands of troops in the region? How much does America subsidize the middle east countries. Come on maga...what is the real answer. -
James Comey to be investigated for posting “8647”
Roundybout replied to Big Blitz's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Maybe Comey got it from known neonazi Jack Posobiec, who posted “86 46” a few years back? -
I mean yeah, Trump tapped out. He panicked and pulled his tariffs.

Potential Derek Chauvin Pardon
Roundybout replied to SCBills's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Once again, I’m saying this in response to MAGA policies that are deliberately designed to stoke rage and anger in the country. There is no valid reason to pardon Chauvin, and it bothers me that the party of “small government and freedom” bends over backwards to defend police officers who are obviously not fit to serve and protect. Given Trump’s weird desire to suspend habeas corpus, a small part of me thinks he’s hoping riots happen so he can have all the more reason to suspend it. -
Hey if the libs get upset over pardoning murderers how could it not be the right thing to do.

No one. The cap has been going up by $25M every year, and will only keep increasing with streaming money. A short-term, $15M/yr avg contract isnt changing the dynamic for any team. We just gave role players like Shakir and Rousseau $15-20M/yr. What players on our roster are you referring to as "high priced"? Maybe Knox? Is that a huge loss if we ditch him and his $15M/yr deal?

Trump ❤️ Tariffs
All_Pro_Bills replied to The Frankish Reich's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Because MAGA are illiterate hillbillies and unwashed masses of trouble making insurrectionists that own no stocks they don't care about the S&P 500 and probably don't know what that is anyway. -
Trump ❤️ Tariffs
leh-nerd skin-erd replied to The Frankish Reich's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Except there were substantial concerns about the potential for market corrections in the 10% range all throughout 2024, as there typically are after substantial increases. So, in adding that to the mix, with fear and hysteria at a fever pitch, and players set to profit off turmoil, again, the resilience was impressive. I’m not that far off from retirement, but cooler heads typically prevail. WW2. Vietnam. Watergate. 2008. Black Friday. Historical trends. I acknowledge Trumps actions impacted the markets. To what degree and what that ultimately means cannot be measured in Fergie’s concerns about his pharmaceuticals over an 34 day period, or the a revisting of the Carter years. What happened post Carter? What was the appropriate course of action thereafter? Both rhetorical questions, of course. -
Does the placement of the bye week really matter?

If we run the division and clinch by week 15 or whatever again, it doesn't matter
