  1. Past hour
  2. That place is literally the cesspool of the internet
  3. I hear this all the time and I tend to think it's overblown. Josh is the kind of guy to always say the right thing. This time however, the right thing in the moment has come back to bite him in the butt. It's my belief that the famous "you were the guy I wanted" line would have been said to any WR we took. It's like Beane always saying that they got "their guy" every single year. Or that whomever they Drafted was "the last guy we had a 1st Round Grade on". If Josh was truly pounding the table for Keon and Keon alone, they wouldn't have risked missing out on him by trading down not once, but twice to teams they knew were selecting Wide Receivers. 3 teams (Kansas City, San Francisco, and Carolina) selected WR's between when we went on the clock at 28 and selected Coleman at 33. I simply cannot believe that if Coleman was THE one that they'd have risked it. I believe the reality is that Beane felt that after MHJ, Nabers, Odunze, and BTJ that there wasn't much separating guys like Worthy, Legette, and Coleman (as we were looking at Outside guys only) and so long as one of them was still available, he'd keep stockpiling assets. That Josh prob liked all of them for different reasons and/or didn't actually have a dog in the fight and the line he's being killed for since then was just public relations lip service, hyping up "our guy" - as the team always does.
  4. Yeah when Tage plays physical and drives to the net he's a monster. It's maddening how rarely we see this from him.
  5. Didn't notice it live but the Superfreak song after the Shavers touchdown was nice touch.
  6. Hope the light goes on for the kid but he's outside looking in now You either double down on unprofessionalism or he turns a corner and realizes that if he wants a career he needs to focus and work harder
  7. There's something to the "premium picks for need" idea, though I do think he looks at talent available in the draft. Statistically as far as players making it, the bottom 3rd of the 1st round is a tricky place. The "hit rate" as far as getting a good player there - not a star, just a solid guy who can ball - is actually not that much higher than the top of the 2nd round, and overall it's lower than a lot of people think. Something like 30%. Beane, IMO, definitely has a tendency in the premium rounds, and that tendency is to go after high ceiling/low floor kind of guys. Guys who have a flaw, that if they can work hard and fill that in, could be great. The opposite side is if they don't stay humble and realize that getting drafted high doesn't make you an NFL star, they won't put in the effort to fill in their game and they wash.
  8. Pats are obviously good. I just think buffalo has a higher ceiling
  9. Just score more than the other team, which is why i wanted Beane to go all in on WR this past offseason. McDermotts scheme just doesn't seem as effective or other teams have figured it out and we don't seem to be adapting to that. So outscoring the opposition is the only way to counter that. We haven't had a pass rush since McDermott took over as HC.
  10. Yeah my bad. I heard Rodger’s may have broken his wrist. Not sure if throwing hand or not. That might be a blessing to both the Chiefs and Ravens but I still think one of them doesn’t make it. My bet would be the Chiefs. They just haven’t played well. Not sure they get on track with their schedule.
  11. Indeed. All part of context. It should be a fair point (or at least it seems to me to be a fair point) that when a player is drafted into a winning team with a good culture, the expectations should be higher - they should have all the building blocks around them to maximize their potential, so looking at the track record of other GMs of winning teams seems like the most fair comparator. As far as Coleman, Ladd McConkey admirers must be going nuts given that in only 4 more games, he has literally more than twice as many catches and yards as Coleman. On the other hand Worthy admirers really do need to admit that in 2 more games, he has a whole 8 more yards than Coleman has contributed (with 25% more receptions) I think the person around here who tries to be the most objective with draft evaluation has been @JGMcD2 who periodically uses pfr's weighted approximate value to evaluate a team's drafting. To me where Beane has really fallen short is in his FA acquisitions (and a couple of trades). He swung for the fences with Von Miller and missed badly. Amari Cooper last year was a bust given the 3rd we gave for him.
  12. You mean 2023 not last season, but agree. The division is basically gone for them now. And the wildcard race.... I think the Bills and Jags make it. Texans, Chargers, Chiefs and Ravens (or Steelers) for one spot.
  13. They all get penalties. Dion shows up to meetings and practice on time I'd assume. Cant blame a dude for answering a question. Again assuming he was asked and not just giving an unsolicited opinion on Keon.
  14. As ridiculous as I know this sounds, I genuinely believe the Bills allowed Allen to have too much input on the WR he wanted to target from this draft class, and I do believe he (Allen) asked for Keon, and this had been reported previously as many of us already know. In the season prior to drafting Keon, we had an ongoing issue with receivers that could NOT make contested catches. This issue ended up being the reason at least a few of Allen's INTs happened; they were contested situations where the other team's DB "won" the ball from our WRs. There were also a couple deep shots in the playoffs where our WRs - including Diggs - failed to come down with the ball and this likely resulted in the notion that our offense needed a WR that can make contested catches, and unfortunately, that led to Allen and/or the Bills honing in a little too much on Coleman, the WR from the class that was all about the "contest catch" trait. The weird thing about the Bills suddenly becoming hyper-focused on acquiring a receiver that could make contested catches is that it wasn't really a "thing" that our offense had a "problem" with prior to the 2023 season, in the first place. But unfortunately, since it was a theme in our most recent season, it became a focal point, when arguably other things should have been instead... A couple other things come to mind, like if the Bills were purposeful in seeking out the "anti-Diggs" receiver as if to prove a point or something after releasing Diggs. To prove to everyone "See Diggs could never do this for us". Well, too bad we have more memories of Coleman flailing his arms in the air than doing that which he was drafted to do. (But if we were going for the "anti-Diggs" I would have much preferred the field stretcher anti-Diggs with 4.3 or better speed. Forget the contested catches, THE DEEP THREAT is what has been missing Allen's entire career). Bottom line though. The pick was always a mistake. We're just getting the "worst case scenario" of it, it seems.
  15. 2 weeks in a row I've seen him blocked from the hash into the sidelines by a TE. Rough to watch. But if we are talking about play falling off a cliff, holy Bernard. He looks absolutely lost on the feild, like he doesn't know what hes supposed to be doing in certain coverages. I dont get it.
  16. They could. But if they steal the #1 seed and Vrabel and his staff have two weeks to prepare, they're probably going to thump somebody.
  17. I think they need to go 6-1 the rest of the way. 10-7 probably won’t get in because they don’t have any tie breakers. I also don’t think the Broncos will collapse enough to pass. It’s not impossible, but it’s a tall order.
  18. Not contenders IMO. Bills D got tore up in the run game by one of the worst rushing teams in the league while also being down their starting back. Not putting much pressure on the QB. If Tampa had their top wrs that game probably went differently even if we still scored 6 TDs. if they can somehow turn around their defense then maybe.
  19. After today's 6 TD performance, here is where we stand through 10 games: Passing TD's: 18 Rushing TD's: 10 Total: 28 Combined TD's. Needs 17 TD's in the next 7 games........if he can get 6 in one game, 17 in 7 should be doable.....the over is still in play!! Now on pace for 47 combined TD's!!
  20. He's our Mahomes and more recently, drake maye
  21. Yes. They will beat both NFC North teams and could win both of the others too.
  22. Also people here tell me that time is a flat circle. Perhaps the Patriots will show that they're legit... I have no idea. But until they actually win in December and in the playoffs, I'll remain skeptical.
