  1. Past hour
  2. I also can’t remember the last time a Cook run play went for negative yardage
  3. Cooper made some remarkable, big time NFL catches along the sidelines in some of the Bills biggest games last season. He was clearly better on the boundary then any Bills WR this season. Hollins had a knack for making big catches on the off script plays that are a big part of Allen's lethality. He was clearly better at this then Moore, Shavers or Samuel. It remains to b seen how good Palmer is at this. Coleman played much better last season (before the injury) then he's played this season. He has clearly regressed and/or they are asking to do different things. Johnson was a dangerous 3rd back at catching passes downfield last season. The only downfield throw to him this year resulted in a dropped TD pass against the Ravens. Only Shakir & Kincaid have matched last seasons receiving production.
  4. Cam seems like a good guy, and he was a talented QB, but his fashion choices are interesting. When I see a person pontificating about the NFL, I'd prefer them to wear normal, mainstream clothes. I find the top hot and other stuff distracting. Similarly, I can live without Pat McAfee's locker room gotcha stuff. Maybe that's just me.
  5. Josh is quite capable of executing an electric passing game. We have all seen it, lots of it. But the Bills don't actually have a real passing game right now. It's just ancillary to and actually part of and an adjunct to the run game. We talk a lot about players needing to be put in a position to succeed, to make the best use of their skills and aptitudes, including psychological. Josh Allen is playing in the wrong system.
  6. When Cook went over 200 with 4 minutes left in the third quarter I looked up the single game rushing record for the Bills. I thought it might be OJ and I was shocked to see he went for 273 in a loss!! I was only 6 at the time so I have no memory of this. Curious to hear what some members recall from that game. That 273 yards is still 6th all time. OJ is only player in NFL history with two games of 250 yards or more. Derrick Henry has a 250 and 238. Bills have three rushing performances in the top 20 with OJ at 273 and 250 and Cookie at 243. I'm glad McDermott pulled Cook, but with that much time left and a Carolina defense that was giving up huge chunks, he could have easily gotten 250+.
  7. Hook him up to the whale noises Rogers used
  8. I am going to the game!!! First Bills game in Buffalo since the 1996 home playoff loss to JAX when I was 8 years old! LFG!
  9. I agree with a lot of this. And I don't mean this as an excuse but I'm also not 100% sure Josh is healthy. I do think there is a scheme issue and more than anything is too predictable. We never seem to catch a defensive player out of position. But the WR room is just not good. And I think Beane's radio comments this year have made the WR issues amplified in the minds of fans
  10. If I was forced to bet on it, I would put my money on they don't make a trade at the deadline. If they do it will be middling at best. Honestly outside of AJ Brown I don't think there is anyone who meets their needs. I don't see Philly dealing him and if they did they would want multiple (maybe 3) firsts.
  11. Believe it or not against your Bills. Yes they consider that a 4th quarter game winning drive/comeback.. Yes he did and he does now with McDaniels but IMO Maye > Tannahill but I am biased. and right now Maye is being way way hyped and he has earned it he has 6 games now in a row with a 100 or higher QB Rating. He is playing out of his mind, and yes most of those games were against inferior D’s Yesterday he faced statistically one of the top 3 D in the league and dropped 30 on them.. what’s funny to me is Bills fans were all over your D when they technically played better than Cleveland’s top 3 D against Maye.
  12. Very exciting stuff: Easy speed. Locking down his man in every rep. Good technique with his hands. What am I missing? Make him the full time starter now. I don't need to see Tre trying to keep up with KC's receivers.
  13. They have the worst QBs in the entire league… Nobody is putting up numbers there…
  14. That is certainly a fair point. After all, he is 2nd (ironically behind BTJ, who many on this board are clamoring giving up a 1st round pick to acquire) in the NFL with 8 drops on the season. I guess we would have to look at why the productivity has been so bad. I am wondering if it could be a situation where a change of scenery and the chance to play for a genuine contender could help in those regards.
  15. His injury looked very eerily similar to Jordan Travis injury when he was at Florida State . Ended up retiring but to be fair he was a fringe NFL Quarterback compared to Skattebo who was a lead back
  16. I don't buy Josh struggles throwing left in any way. Go watch the fourth quarter of the season opener vs the ravens, made a bunch of terrific throws to his left.
  17. Watching that Packers/Steelers game last night was a bit eye opening with regards to this…. It seemed like LeFleur had an answer schemed up for almost everything the Steelers threw at them.
  18. Well, being the drum beat is that Olave and BTJ are not likely to be moved at all... Shaheed is the only plausible guy there...so it's time to think outside what has been discussed. That's why I brought up Jeudy a few days ago, myself. We need talent. Scheme can be adjusted but talent can't be taught.
  19. Sometimes a return to mastering the basics is just what the doctor ordered
  20. Thinking Palmer is going to be our savior is only going to lead to disappointment He was another Beane bust free agent signing that wasn't worth anywhere close to what he got I agree that Bradys offense is partly to blame, but a true threat at wideout will make a huge difference BTJ, Olave, or Shaheed would all massively improve our passing game and help Josh immensely. All are available in trade. Beane needs to admit his mistake and get one of these guys
  21. If this is true and I'm not convinced that it is, then it relates to the idea that to win a Super Bowl you have to navigate a very long season and you can't get to high or to low. Allen may be deliberately tempering his emotions to achieve a more consistent high level performance over the long haul. We fans have been crying about how every season is the same: 11 - 13 wins, #2 or 3 seeding, initial playoff victory or 2 and then a loss to the Chiefs or Bengals, next season, repeat the process again. For 5 straight seasons we and more importantly the Bills organization have seen this play out. It really is the football version of the movie "Groundhog Day". I am of the opinion that this off season they thought long and hard about how to break the cycle and one of their ideas was to convince Allen's to moderate his passion. There is no need risking big hits by jumping over tacklers or attempting to run them over. In fact the whole offense is playing a more restrained, deliberate style. Sure part of it is due to the lack of WR talent but it looks like a plan to me. The only time they departed from this was in the 4th quarter against the Ravens when it was their ONLY chance to win the game. In the losses to the Pats & Falcons, the Bills were close enough to believe they could eke out wins without Allen putting the cape on. And they were almost right. Until recently the Eagles were adopting a similar strategy but they have the advantage of having explosive WR's allowing them to switch to a more pass oriented offense on demand. If the Bills could get that one WR who would fill that role they might be able to make this more cautious approach work. After all Mahomes over the last few seasons has been a very different regular season QB then what he is in the playoffs where his clearly turns the passion up big time.
  22. I screwed up during our two-game losing streak. One week I neglected to make wings, breaking a 10-year tradition. The other week, I got confused about the start time and missed the first few minutes of the game - a clear offense against the Gridiron Gods. I didn't do anything special this week but I did do the requisite rituals: made wings, dressed in my Bills gear, and was comfortably seated on my couch in time for kickoff.
  23. The defense looked much faster yesterday. Some young guys made some big tackles that we have seen go for big plays this year. hancock's great tackle on the breakaway run and andressen made a great play on the screen which had he missed could have gone a long way. Hairston looked the part yesterday. On the sack by Groot at the ten yard line, taron johnson had great coverage, hairston seemed to know exactly what to do on his side in zone and bishop took away the spot where Dalton wanted to throw the ball. Great play from the defense. Hairston, Bishop, Hancock all looked quick and athletic and seems like if they can keep growing on that it could make a big difference.
  24. Ok then every man his own wife if that's what it takes.
  25. Jordan and Simmons are unlikely. Harrison Phillips is somewhat believable.
