  1. Past hour
  2. Should they lose this week to the Rams (likely IMHO) they would have to go 9-2 to even get a whiff of the playoffs. With 2 games against the Steelers and games with Minnesota and Green Bay, that is a tall order. Not burying them, just cautiously optimistic.
  3. Are you all sure ? I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that our WR corp "quietly got better"
  4. WOW... just wow...LOL I actually laughed out loud at this one... just sayin... I mean not funny in this situation... but.. .its funny... cmon
  5. This is fantastic news . Hopefully the Bengals can win a few games and keep KC out of the playoffs
  6. Keep chugging! We can't be this conservative on offense down the stretch... defense needs to step up
  7. In the division! Wow!
  8. Their huge mistake was choosing to sign Cooper Rush as the backup QB. He can't run Lamar's offense becuase he is no threat to run himself. They should have stuck with Snoop Huntley, who's only product NFL role might be Lamar light.
  9. I haven’t a clue what you’re talking about. Mind my biz re what?
  10. A.J. Klein, anyone?
  11. now go get me AJ Klein, McBeane!
  12. Per the internet
  13. We used to be thrilled that a kicker could make a 50 Yarders.. now that's routine to this day. Major difference this year? Teams have the chance to prepare kicking balls the day before and practice with the same balls they use in games. Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio compared it to the HR explosion during MLB's steroids era. "It's almost like they need an asterisk here" Fangio told the media. "It was the live ball era for those Bonds, McGuire and Sosa were hitting. The way they’ve changed the ball, the NFL, the kicking ball has drastically changed the field goals.” There have already been four kicks made from at least 60 yards this season — one shy of the single-season record — with Tampa Bay’s Chase McLaughlin hitting a 65-yarder against Fangio’s Eagles in Week 4, just 1 yard shy of Justin Tucker’s record set in 2021. Long distance kicks have become far more prevalent as the quality of kickers has improved thanks to more training and specialized coaching. The NFL has set records in each of the last four seasons for made field goals of at least 50 yards with the total reaching 195 in 2024 — doubling the total from every NFL season until 2015. Kickers are making 72.5% of field goals from at least 50 yards — nearly double the rate from three decades ago. But why? The change this year came after seven teams — Baltimore, Cleveland, Houston, Philadelphia, Las Vegas, Minnesota and Washington — made a proposal to reduce the stress on equipment staffs on game days. Before this season, balls designated for use in the kicking game were shipped directly to the officials and brought to the stadium on game day. Teams then had a 60-minute window to prepare three kicking balls, using only a wet towel, a dry towel and a special ball brush. Now, teams were given 60 “K balls” before the season to prepare for games, with each team getting three each game that are approved by the referee. No ball can be used in more than three games. What do the coaches think? Titans special teams coach John Fassel downplays the impact of the new rules, saying the approximately 20 minutes the equipment staff previously had to prepare each of the three kicking balls was sufficient. Jets kicker Nick Folk equated the difference in the balls to buying a new baseball glove each week and breaking it in for an hour compared to having a glove that has been broken in over a long period of time and now fits just perfectly. “I’m happy it happened,” Folk said. “We get to kind of do just like quarterbacks get whatever they want to do to the ball, as long as it looks like a football and the logo’s still there and all that stuff, I think they’re pretty lenient with that. It’s a very welcoming thing to be able to kind of look at a ball and be like, ‘All right, I want to kick this one this week, I want to kick this one this week.’” The impact isn’t solely on field goals. Punts are traveling farther too. After the average dropped by 1.5 yards from 1998 to 1999 when the first “K balls” were put in use, there has been a gradual uptick since the rules first changed in 2007. The average punt now travels 47.7 yards, which would have been the individual single-season record as recently as 20 years ago. The initial rules for kicking balls were first put in place in 1999 after specialists were allegedly doing all sorts of things to manipulate the ball, including using microwave ovens, dryers and saunas to soften the leather and make them easier to kick. How will this revolution change the NFL?
  14. Yeah that was my initial thought as well. But they seemed to have mentally checked out. It could very well be turned around like you said.
  15. Falcon's have three skill positions that have killed Bills in the past. London - WR; Pitts - TE, Robinson - RB, all among the top at their position. Our defense isn't ready for prime time. Our wide receivers aren't ready for prime time. They also have a solid interior D line, and watching NE game film, sure they will be clamping down on James Cook. Puts Josh in a tough spot I would say, esp since they have had extra time to scheme. Divine Deablo is one of the top LB's in the league this year and likely will be spying Josh.
  16. Good lord, could you imagine Sean McVay coaching JA17? We'd be 5 time reigning SB Champs 😄
  17. You love to hate the WR's and specifically Keon. You overrate and said he's immature etc based on McDermott's benching FOR ONE SERIES. Do you think if he was a problem in the locker room that he would only sit out one series? Do you know how fast Samuel is? Dalton Kincaid's avg is 14.4, Keon Coleman is 11. Shakir avg is 11 as well.. Josh is 9th in the league in yards per completion. Are you sure we don't have a downfield passing attack? PS we also have the number 2 RB in terms of yards in the NFL... maybe you need to fking relax and stop being so negative.. holy cow.
  18. There are multiple factors in gold's rise. A quick look at the value of gold in Swiss francs suggests that about 1/3 of the rise in the price in USD is due to excess inflationary expectations in the US. Gold is up YTD about 30% in USD, about 20% in CHF. I have long had about 10% of my retirement portfolio in gold, so I'm (personally) happy, but generally concerned. Laddered TIPS are also great, and I've shifted to about a 60/40 domestic US to international equities mix over the course of the year. Some International equities are seeing a boost from the dollar's depreciation.
  19. One thing that's been on my mind and this feels like the best thread to post it, is I have a growing uncertainty about Joe Brady. I've praised him for knowing what his players do well and leaning into those strengths, and I stand by that. I think that is his best trait as an OC. However I don't think he excels at understanding where the opponent is vulnerable and game planning around those weaknesses. It kind of feels like every week we just come in playing our brand of offense regardless of the defensive personnel or play calls. There's a thin line between maintaining your identity and being stubborn. I think Brady has crossed that line too much this year. Pats game is a perfect example. I'm stealing this informatiom from Joe Marino's all-22 analysis. Leading up to the game Joe said the Pats have weak coverage LBs, and that one of our priorities should have been to get them into their base personnel and throw the ball into it. In his all-22 analysis he revealed that we got them into base personnel on 14 plays. But we only passed on 2 of those plays. Both passes were 20 yard completions to Kincaid. The 12 runs averaged 2.8 YPC... That represents a massive missed opportunity. We got the looks we wanted but didn't take advantage on nearly enough of them because our identity is that we run out of heavy personnel and that's that. Stubbornness hurt the offense on Sunday night. Brady is a pretty simple OC and that just isn't a great match with below average pass catching talent. He doesn't do a great job of putting defenders in conflict and scheming his players open, and our players aren't talented enough to work open all on their own. So it's a bad marriage and the only possible solution this season is to add better pass catching talent because Brady obviously isn't going anywhere.
  20. I hope he takes EVERY LAST PENNY HE HAS EVER MADE AND WILL MAKE. Barring something even more bonkers than what we know now, theres no reason for this. What maybe the truck driver said to stfu and mind his business?! Called him a bust?! Complimented his mothers ***** talents?! EVERY. PENNY.
  21. I mean, he was BALLING OUT on the plays just prior to that, so this is a bit out of context when only looking at that one play that went away from him.
  22. And if you want to reach way back, Perry Tuttle
  23. Nothing new here. Does anyone have a clip of her saying something when she doesn't sound absolutely hammered? Oh wait, she's dead serious about our strong and enduring alliance with the Republic of North Korea. Wonder if her supporters can identify the mistake in her speech?
  24. So, seeing as how I suppose you feel about the NFL and the Bills, do you get pissed when they lose? Will you celebrate if they win a Super Bowl? And why to either if you think it was a rigged outcome? You are comparing apples to oranges. If you think a sporting event is rigged and you give it a minute of your time, that’s incredibly head scratching.
  25. Peacemaker 🤝 Helloween
  26. not a great list of FA's. too bad we don't have a PS LB we can poach still hate we got rid of tyrell dodson
