Not a deflection, it's a response to inform you of my perspective. There's a difference and you should know that. My initial assumption was that you had me confused with someone else, or that you simply got yourself riled up and lost track of your feelings. Now it seems apparent that you're simply not being truthful. I cannot recall this sort of interaction with you previously, though maybe it's your standard operating procedure with other posters. My belief is when an individual, like you, lies or attempts to spread false stories, it's typically the result of some other upheaval or chaos in their personal life. Perhaps you have issues with a partner---deception, separation, divorced, illness---or some sort of challenge in your career or other legal issues. Maybe a DUI, maybe it's as simple as an inability to meet monthly expenses due to poor household budget management. Or, maybe you've just decided to be a d-bag. Hard to say. Regardless, if you feel better going down this path, and it stops you from kicking your dog or targeting someone else in your life with this type of silliness, that's ok with me.

As all your Trump-related prophecies of doom become further exposed as hoaxes, you seem to be coming more strident and unwound. Ed Oliver isn't paid like a top 10 defensive tackle. He ranks 18th in the league in average per year salary.

If Oliver is Beane's "biggest blunder", Beane must be pretty good. Teams have much bigger "misses" on Top Ten picks every single draft, including 2019: 2018: #10 Josh Rosen 2019: #6 Daniel Jones 2020 :#2 Chase Young 2021 : #4 Kyle Pitts

Not sure what went on with the formatting but that is @uticaclub's comment. I'm not sure it is quite right though. Ed creates a ton of his own opportunities. His underlying analytics in terms of pass rush win rates and pressures are in that second half of the top 10 territory. His issue actually is finishing. He is not an elite finisher. Maybe that is just the result of the shorter arms, I think a bit of it is that real killer instinct... but he moves QBs off their spot a ton. He doesn't turn that into enough wrecked plays. Too much game inconveniencer and not game wrecker compared to the very top level elite guys. But he is still a really good player. The only Bills defender I think is better right now is probably Benford.

The Cincinnati game imo was more similar to a lower level of football. Highschool or College that the team that brings more energy wins. In pro football energy is never an impact unless it’s week 18 and vaction is set. With the blizzards and dealing with Hamlin, Buffalo simply ran out of emotional gas. Cincy came in with their hair on fire. They felt wronged by the Hamlin game results. Buffalo didnt have the capacity to match. I wouldnt state it as quitting or something coaches could have changed. Just was all they had. Chiefs game was due to a poor oline. The dline over haul by Buffalo was because they were not able to take advantage of it. I think Buffalo offense would have created problems for the Eagles defense. I think the Eagles offense would have been a complete miss match vs that Bills defense. Would have been one of the highest scoring Superbowls ever imo.

If they knock it off with trying to be dark and gritty, it should work. That was my problem with Man of Steel - it portrayed Supes as way too grim and brooding. Also Kevin Costner was a weird choice for Pa Kent.

I definitely do not study DTs, or even focus on Oliver's play all that much. But I was surprised last to see a quote last season from a head coach of a Bills' opponent who said that the offensive coordinator has to have a plan for handling Oliver on every play. The implication was that if you leave Oliver one-on-one more than occasionally, he will wreck the game. And beyond that, I think this discussion about Oliver under-performing as compared to other DTs, there are two important considerations: 1. The D-line rotation. Oliver doesn't get as many snaps as most other DTs, and that's not because he couldn't handle more - it's because as a matter of philosophy, McDermott won't give him more. And it isn't just snaps; it's also that where Oliver lines up from play to play changes, and who's beside him changes, too. 2. McDermott's team-approach. Everyone is expected to be multiple, to be able to play different styles from game to game and even from play to play. There are no one-trick ponies on the Bills; each player has to be good at a lot of different skills that his position requires. They have to be jackknives. That's who the Bills draft, over and over, because that's what they want. So, I would guess that the Bills are happy with Oliver, because he's great at what they want him to do, and they don't care that he isn't great in the way the fans want him to be. That is, the Bills don't mind that they don't have a single guy on the D line who is a true game wrecker.

I don't think we need to delve into Diggs personal life or create hypothetical sexual scenarios to look for reasons the Bills moved on. The performance and locker room based reasons to move on from Diggs have been rehashed multiple times. It also seems pretty clear that Diggs wanted receiving numbers, demanded a high target share in order to get them, and wasn't going to be happy in an offense that was closer to 50/50 run/pass under Brady than the ~40/60 run pass that was the Bills offense under Dorsey.

I don't think this is a bad question... I think he is absolutely here this year... but I think if he has another uninspired year or two that they look to move him out at the most financially advantageous time in his contract thinking dead cap hit...

2024 was not Ed's best year. I'm a huge fan of him, possibly the biggest on this board, and think he generally is undervalued by most Bills fans (and some neutral observers) but his performance for 2/3s of 2024 was below par. No question. He did turn it on down the stretch but he really underperformed by his standards for a fair chunk of last season. On that basis I wouldn't make a case for him over anyone in the top 10. I thought he was slighted not being in the top ten last year, but he doesn't have an argument for it this year. I would, however, still have him over everyone outside the top 10 - both in the "honourable mentions" and "also received votes" category (with Ed himself in the latter) with the possible exception of Kobie Turner, who is a stud, but isn't really a defensive tackle. He is a 3-4 defensive end. If he played for the Bills he'd be a guy who played mainly as a big end 5T and then reduced down into a 3T in pass rush situations.

Not wrong. Also, it is very much 2000’s Patriots type offseason. Bosa needs to plays 3-4 games in January and Feb. Tre White in the AFC championship game wont throw up on himself like Elam did. Is White who he was? No. Is he better than what was on the field in January in KC? Yes. Added athletes in the secondary and size on the dline. Have a few young guys as the lead pass catchers. Palmer does what they dont. Moore is the type of player that has succeeded with Allen. Mind you last season Philly besides a modest deal for Barkley, Baun was the best signing and was signed to a prove it deal and was up for DPOY. Those types of FA win games and Championships. They reuped both Barkey and Baun this offseason with massive pay raises.
