I'm really starting to love this WR room. We quietly got better

Think it's been a problem repeatedly since 2020...OC starts out, looks amazing year 1(year 2 for Daboll but Allen really came out in 2020 in a way nobody ever saw before), gets figured out at some point early in year 2 and doesn't have the answers to fix the issues, leaves, new OC takes over...he looks great year 1 and then year 2 gets figured out with no answers and we regress.. Win totals last 5+ years: 13-11-13-11-13-11? Daboll->Dorsey->Brady -
Division is out at this point…have to do it as a wildcard

Burrow not coming back for the Patriots game. Pats probably take this game fairly easily and maybe it’s for the best so we can focus on just getting a WC and then rest guys Week 18. As far as KC & BAL go.. Charvarius Ward just got activated, so they’ll have Ward and Sauce out there against KC Sunday. Burrow’s likely return will either be off a surprise W over NE or, with a loss, as a last gasp, do or die game against Baltimore Thanksgiving Night. Either way, if he comes back, with Chase returning, that game has juice as a possible Baltimore L. At this point, I think im just rooting for the Bills to get in and KC/BAL to get left out. Then let the chips fall where they may. -
Will Josh Allen want to stick around for a rebuild?
CincyBillsFan replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall
No one player can lift a team above mediocrity if the roster talent is below average. Marino, who IMO was the greatest pure passing QB in NFL history, went 8-8, 6-10, 8-8 & another 8-8 in seasons where he started every game for the Dolphins. This might actually work as long as McD allows Daboll the freedom to run the O. For Daboll it would be a great stepping stone to another HC job and a new GM can go about reorienting the Bills FA & Draft priority's towards the offense. Of course all of this would be a moot point if the Bills went on a run and made the Super Bowl this season. -

It's very possible that Beane is let go, McDermott asks Daboll to come back and take over the offense and McDermott reworks the D. The team would go get a Waddle or someone similar in the off-season and also draft a WR and maybe even sign a #2 type guy in free agency. The topic in national sports media is Allen needs weapons and everyone is dunking on Beane especially for his bullying of the WGR guys last summer for daring to question his WR room. He's going to take the fall. Nobody is really blaming McDermott as much. I think agents and "camps" are feeding info out there to create a narrative. McDermott is a rock solid human being (not that Beane isn't) that is easy to rally behind. I also have heard from a few places that he actually does want a more open attacking offense and us frustrated with what they have at WR. Where there's smoke there's fire. Beane also seems like a good guy and all, but he has unfortunately failed the team far moreso than McDermott has. -
Long list of Bills UFA / void year after the season

At the time they paid Knox they were utilizing his skills in the passing game and since they now have Kincaid they barely call his number so that is IMHO the biggest reason why ya'll think he's over paid but I think if his number was called as much like it was before Kincaid show'd up he'd be worth the money . I think Bosa should be brought back because when Hoecht was in those 2 games he show'd what he could do if all of the attention wasn't on him, most all of the others that you mentioned I too think will be gone and the team will be pretty much a different team next year . Samuel has been a bust for the hope he had coming in Palmer might be a bit better if Josh can develop some chemistry with him but Moore let him walk ! -
Thanks for posting this, Einstein. It only amplified my concerns about Brady. Our downfield passing game is probably the weakest part of our offense. Our receivers don't separate and Brady hasn't demonstrated any genius at scheming guys open. Downfield passing is probably the strength of the Texan defense. Their secondary is very good and their DL can generate pressure without tons of blitzing. So why were we watching Josh drop back, scan the field, and get clobbered? What was Brady thinking? We all knock Brady for being too conservative, but this was a game when he should have dialed up lots of runs (instead of 19 rushes by RBs versus 34 passes) and short, quick passes where the ball is out of Josh's hand in 2.0 seconds. Unless I'm missing something, it was one of the dumbest game plans I've ever seen.

That would have been more worth the watch, honestly.

Will Josh Allen want to stick around for a rebuild?
MJS replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall
Josh Allen and the players don't view it the way fans do. He feels just as responsible as anyone for losses, if not more so. He has been around sports enough to know that you win some and you lose some. Not to mention that Keon Coleman was hand picked by Allen! So was Ken Dorsey, and Allen has been a staunch supporter of Joe Brady as well. So, why would Allen feel any kind of animosity toward the organization that has given him everything he wants, including getting rid of Diggs and taking on 30 million in dead cap, because his relationship soured on with him and Diggs became a nagging distraction? Josh Allen has nothing but love for Buffalo, the organization, Beane, and McDermott. Players almost universally support their coaches. -

This is a fair discussion topic. I hope Allen stays and the Bills do not have to engage in a compete rebuild. A reloading even if it meant changes at HC & GM could work for all involved. At the same time it would be a real shame if Allen never got a chance to play in and win a Super Bowl. Marino at least got to play in a Super Bowl. The rest of this season will have a huge impact on whether Allen is still a Buffalo Bill when he turns 33. If the Bills can rebound and go on a run and make it to the divisional round or better yet the AFC Championship game then a re-load would likely work without changing the HC & GM. On the other hand if the Bills implode and a rebuild is needed and Pegula doesn't change the HC & GM then Allen would be wise to start making plans for his departure this off season. -
I dunno - watching the video of each sack at least it looked like no one was open...at all. Coulda thrown it away I guess but a bunch were 3rd down scenarios too.
-
I blame them all. If I were Pegs, though, I wouldn't fire anyone. I would sit down with Beane and McD at the end of the season and ask them what they'll do to make next season better. Hoping for fewer injuries, needless to say, wouldn't be an acceptable answer. I'd need Beane to tell me - at a minimum - that he's going to plus-up the scouting department and/or modify how they evaluate players so we don't have any more Elams and Colemans. I'd need McD to tell me - at a minimum - that we're going to hire a passing game coordinator who'll help revitalize our stagnant, simplistic downfield passing game. Only if I didn't get those answers would I consider firing anyone.

It’s a combo of both. I can admit that Brady is a pretty good run coordinator but his passing concepts are brutal. Add in the worst WR group in the NFL and it’s a recipe for disaster -

I'm still arguing that Brady makes it much harder on this offense than it needs to be with his overuse of Mesh in high leverage situations and inability to scheme up proper passing concepts that lead to space for players. These WRs might not be great in terms of overall ability, but they are certainly better than what Brady has made them look. -
Hunter appropriate name. huge kudos to him. Really, when you think of dudes like Wilkerson. It’s nice to see some humanity in a brutal job.

Even they know the NFL is better with Allen in it

Then I guess you've never watched: Vontaze Burfict Albert Haynesworth Rodney Harrison Vince Wilfork Ndamukong Suh Bill Romanowski They would've ended Allen and celebrated.
