  1. Past hour
  2. yea absolutely no reason to burn cap space on a qb putting them in purgatory let the kids play
  3. I went to bed before the game was over and only see the highlights this morning but these NHL playoffs have been awesome
  4. Yea being an NFL GM is three parts I think. Media interactions, managing the cap and talent evaluation. I think Beane is one of the best in the NFL at the first two parts. Beane and his team are ok at talent evaluation too. Like you alluded to, and this kinda ties into his cap management, he does try to fill needs early in the draft that he couldn’t address under the cap with free agents. There have been many good players that have come out of the draft along with the misses. But I would definitely consider this the weaker part of Beane’s skill set as a whole, though he did hit on the most important pick ever.
  5. One of the many signs of TDS: admitting your ideas are so bad you are simply a troll but pretending that makes you the good guy
  6. Saints winning 6+ games with a guy who is almost certainly not going to be their QB 2 years from now is just a bad move.
  7. “And I can't fight this feeling anymore I've forgotten what I started fightin' for It's time to bring this ship into the shore And throw away the oars, forever“
  8. Today
  9. Conor will get extended soon and provide cap relief imo
  10. You weren't stupid for that. The league hadn't yet exploded into the all out passing league it became and the kind of hero ball, keep a play alive QB play that's made the pocket passer all but extinct. It was true then and it's true now, 99.9% of the time if you're inaccurate in College - it isn't going to improve in the Pro's. Josh is the 0.1%. But he's the exception and not the rule. It's been proven in recent years with the Drafting of guys like Trey Lance and Anthony Richardson that Drafting a QB based solely on size, a big arm, and some tools is practically always going to blow up in your face. Josh is just a unicorn. Even after having Josh Allen, if we're in a situation like 2018 again and the prospects are what they were then - I'd still be against taking the Josh Allen like prospect.
  11. I could care less about these cap numbers!! Beane gets it done by the start of the season and that's all I need to know!!
  12. Beane got pretend angry at Mad Max when he ran that fast time at the combine .. The only time Beane has been genuinely disappointed when one of “his guys” ran a slow time was AJE’s 5.04 … he still picked him in the second but told him to lose 40 pounds by training camp
  13. That Vegas/Edmonton game, with the winning goal scored with 0.4 seconds left in the game!
  14. How about a band that covers itself, and improves! Rush when they released 2112 in 1976 performed it in the key of E. In 1996 when they performed the entire 1st side on the Test for Echo tour, performed it in the key of C. And it sounds hella better in the key of C.
  15. Exactly this. If anyone's a Nickel, it's Hancock. He's set to take over the Cam Lewis floating DB Backup Safety and Nickel role as soon as this season. Also exactly this. If we cut him after Training Camp, we'd save nothing and take on an 8+m Dead Cap hit. With the kind of depth (or lack thereof) at the WR core we have right now and the financials involved, there's really no scenario where Curtis Samuel isn't on the roster.
  16. The minimum salary starts at 860k and tops out at 1.2 million. A stable high quality backup who plays capable special teams for 2 million seems like a good use of a roster spot. The extra stability of good depth at safety with some special teams ability is worth about a million extra dollars over a minimum player. The Bills brought in plenty of competition via a mid round pick and a young vet in Forrest. At worst you have an over abundance of depth at safety and overpaid for a competent special teams player. At best they made sure they have a stable capable backup option who they know can play at a competent level within their system.
  17. Yeah I'm not sure I've seen a three position set of picks that I'm this excited about individually. I think they're all going to be for real. Hancock to me looks like a nickel corner but what do I know.
  18. Yeah, he'd probably make around 50k a year in the CFL as a top CFL Draft Pick. The NFL Practice Squad pays 12.5k a week. So while it's unlikely he makes the 53, if they offer him a Practice Squad spot - he'll more than likely take that over the CFL. On top of the higher pay, you never know when someone might get hurt and that could be your big break. Generally, CFL Draft Picks exhaust all of their NFL options first before reporting.
  19. I hated what the Browns did. But good luck with this.
  20. Should bode well for Keon that they have confidence in him as they really only replaced Coop/Hollins , before his injury he looked completely different. We'll see, feel the same way with Kincaid
  21. Yes there will be a superbowl this year
  22. If both the far left and the far right are upset with Pope Leo, then he is probably doing his job well.
