Kinda surprised - it was apparent the tank is in and this is an organization that has fumbled the tank in epic fashion. They really need to lose out to optimize their chances of getting Mendoza.

They have plenty of draft capital to try move up to get him if they want. The Jets are going one of those teams to watch in the 2026 and 2027 drafts. They have 8 picks in the first two rounds over these drafts. Five first round picks and 3 second round picks.

A few years ago they had 3 or 4 of the top 34 picks - where did that get them?
