So last year around now I was pushing 195 lbs at 5'9".  I felt for the first time since I was younger I could stand to lose some weight.  So I tried eating better and hit the treadmill.  Even did a 5k in the summer.  I can't do them nearly as fast I used to in my 20s but still.  I got down to about 180-183 lbs in September.  Thought I was doing good but I've been slowly gaining the weight back.  Up to about 190 lbs.  I feel like haven't really done anything that dramatically different then the summer.

But maybe subconsciously in colder/darker weather I've been craving more calories.

At anyway I googled it in our information age and looks like I'm not alone

I've definitely gained like 12 lb in the last couple months but I stopped running

And all I eat is rib eyes and chicken breast basically so that will do it

With some carbs

I've lost 20 labs since July. I gained a ton because of prednisone (which I need for anti-rejection) are putting me on mounjaro after my colonoscopy in Jan.

I use my phone to track my steps. If you look at my steps month by month over a full year it makes a perfect little bell curve. When the weather is nicer I’m out and get more steps. When the weather gets cold and wet my steps go way down. The peak of the steps mountain is June, July and August with FAR fewer steps in Dec/Jan/Feb. It’s just natural unless you have perfectly level seasons.

for me the sweets and treats of the holidays come home to roost on my body yes indeed

. Once the holidays are over it's back to healthy lifestyle reality. I eat pretty clean otherwise. I like to stay at my goal weight as often as possible

Fat season is officially marked at the start by the purchase of Halloween candy, typically around 28-Oct, & continues through when the last of your Xmas junk is consumed, usually about a week into the new year.  I'm happy if I only gain 5 lbs.
