Just a friendly reminder that the Patriots got beat by the Raiders and Steelers. What other signature win do they have besides Buffalo? We just went thru a murderer’s row of a schedule and with a W this Sunday the Bills will be breathing down their necks. Sorry, i know Drake Maye is the new media darling, but he is no Josh Allen. It greatly upsets me when people even make the comparison. I live in New England and it’s sickening how many people think he’s already on that level. Child, please.

Aren't Spillane and Landry their starting LB's?

 

Could be a good day for Cook if they don't play, along w/ Williams already being out.  Hard to complain about our injuries looking at their report.

It was the same thing when Herbert came out 

 

He was always compared to Josh because of his size and athleticism...

 

Drake May has been getting this comparison since high school 

 

And he is very talented and there are shades of Josh in Drake.. but history doesn't bring clones of people that fast 

 

There's only one Josh Allen.. and Drake is not surpassing him anytime soon despite his natural talent

@Joe Marino made a good point on his show. It’s better if Buffalo were to lose the division on their terms. Beating New England and then New England goes on to win out the rest of their schedule along w/ the AFCE is fine. But losing the division is one single game is going to be emotionally rough for players & fans.

Right now, Drake Maye is a guy who has had some spectacular throws and seems to have a good long ball.

 

That lumps him in with dozens of QB's from the past decade or 2.  He has not yet led even one 4th quarter comeback, and has led only one game-winning drive.

 

So many QB's have the skills.  The guys w/ the mental toughness really shorten the list. He hasn't proven anything yet in that area.

Yes, they are starter LBs. Their run defense has declined since Milton Williams been hurt.

He’s a good player, but there are way too many questions. In the NFL i need to see multiple stretches of seasons before i crown anyone. Now if he goes out and dominates the rest of the year en route to a SB then we can start having this discussion, but even then i still wouldn’t be sold.

You need to be dominant for 4 years before you ever get into any true territory of being the best at your position 

 

I've seen this way too often at every position 

 

Odell Beckham's first 3 years were better than Jerry Rice's and everybody was anointing him 

 

Guess what he's not even a Hall of Fame player... There's way too many circumstances to anoint players after one or two good years 

 

Blake bortles has a season with 4000 passing yards and 35 touchdowns something Drake May will not have and he's a footnote

We were hearing the same crap about Tua when the Dolphins almost had the division a couple years ago. Who was playing at a high level i will admit, but the media had the same BS hot takes they do now about the Pats.

He shows promise, but I have yet to see him do the things that separate a talented passer from a superior NFL QB, as you point out.  Until he does, and does them consistently, I am not buying the Maye hype.  He is just a guy.  This game is crucial for him to prove himself, or not.  Contender or pretender gets decided, at least for the short term, this Sunday.  My bet is that he and the Cheats lose at least one wheel from their donkey cart this week.  It would not surprise me in the least if they lose this game to the Bills and then one or two more before the end of the year.

I get his point though. I’d rather get trounced by the Eagles and miss the division than get swept by New England. That’s rough and we’ll be hearing about it all offseason. IDK if i could live here if that happened

Feels like just about every team that bills or pats fans tried to hype up their win over has become cursed 😂 Bucs loss tonight was wild.

bills are down to just Steelers and panthers and pats are down to bills and panthers for wins over above .500 teams lol granted I’m not sure how to account for the burrow bengals the bills faced

Oooh should’ve replied to this instead of posting separate lol the only above .500 teams the pats have beaten at the moment are panthers and bills.  Only above .500 teams they’ve seen are pit,Carolina,Buffalo.
 

If they lose the rematch with the bills I think there’s gonna be a lot of heat on the whole ‘who did they beat’ narrative because who really cares about the flukey less recent head to head with buffalo.  If they win they will likely become a Super Bowl favorite.
 

 It’s pretty ironic really because on paper the game really doesn’t mean a whole lot…bills are very likely a playoff team still with a loss and pats are likely still winning the division with a loss.  narrative wise it feels huge though.  There’s gonna be a lottt of 2020 Steelers comparisons with NE if the bills win this one comfortably

I hear you. However, the Bills offense in that game really struggled. I think the coaching staff really messed up with their protection schemes. With that said, the Bills still had a great chance to win that game. Truthfully, I think the Bills would go down to Houston and take care of business.

Epa per play Allen and Maye are tied at 2 passing EPA Maye is ahead of allen by a large number

Overall EPA Maye is 2nd behind love and slightly above Allen

what can't be disputed is the EPPF stat Patriots fans deserve.
