My personal take on this is that they consistently come out playing conservatively on defense. Soft zones. 4 man rushes. Stop the run. Then when they struggle they turn up the aggressiveness and generally get better results. But I could be completely off.

Without them I'm not sure Josh's heroics get us the win.

Can’t you say the Bengals were lucky as well? Ty tripping on his own, Cook fumbling on his way into the end zone?

Those weren’t really luck. Just great plays by the defense. And great plays by Allen too.

They were great plays but also lucky in the sense that you can't plan or foresee them happening.

I checked again, and it was Hancock, but not with Bishop. It was Poyer/Hancock all 4 snaps that drive. There had to be something with Cole at that time.

Late this January a special anniversary arrives: 3 years since the Bengals last played a postseason game.

 

Their last playoff game was in 2023 vs KC

Does anyone think Allen's scramble for the first down to clinch it was a called play?  It looked a lot like the clinching TD vs the Chiefs last year.  I think they told him to drop back and if someone wasn't wide open down the field (highly unlikely), just take off and do your thing...

Oh absolutely that was the play. Unless there was a super safe pass option, just take it and run, keep the clock going, and point it deep into their end. They would have had under a minute to try and score a touchdown
