How

I'm definitely a huge advocate of bringing in a #1 WR but this guy has Antonio Brown type of vibes all over him. I wouldn't complain if they brought him in but I still wouldn't feel great if he was the only WR we brought in either.

How is it worse than Diggs? He's far less public than Diggs. Or is this because he went shopping yesterday? I really don't care right now except introducing an element that opens up the offense. A #1 WR from a Super Bowl team is available, we should be trying.

People keep talking as if the 49ers have released Aiyuk. They have not. If you read carefully, it turns out that the 49ers voided his contract guarantees back in July, but we're just learning about this now for some reason. Everything beyond that is speculation and talking heads trying to put two and two together to generate content. Kyle Shanahan, when asked about it, doesn't dismiss him returning to the team. Strange situation, but as of now, he's still a Niner. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/47065408/niners-shanahan-admits-aiyuk-contract-situation-unusual

I would grab him on a short coming off injury contract and throw the bag a Pickens.

Beane isn’t going to pay another WR.  Get use the nobody eats offense

That’s why many people hope Beane will no longer be the GM

I don't know, I've never heard of a player let alone a WR who had their guaranteed money voided and neither has Kyle Shanahan which leaves me to believe there is alot more going on behind the scenes than we're being told.

voiding his contract guarantees basically guaranteed he will be cut in the off-season

Brandon did not file a grievance.. because I don't believe he's coming back

To put it another way on how desperate we are:

The bar is definitely reaching close to closing time. And that 4 foot tall brunette that goes about 350...well she's not that bad. Her mustache matches her beard really well. And she has a great personality....

lbs or kg?

Or you've got a player that wanted to be traded but stayed bc they offered him a deal too good to say no. But they soon ended up regretted it and still want out. So they miss meetings and team events and make it known that they want out.

On the flip side, you've got a 9ers team that probably also has buyers remorse after overpaying for him and then him tearing his ACL.

Doesn't seem very complicated or mysterious to me. He wants out of the 9ers - the 9ers want out of the contract.

So is this happening or not?

He's most likely not being released this season. They voided his guarantees for 2026 and onward and he will be moved in the off-season. There's a chance they may even trade him rather than releasing him.

You could be right but I'm more doom and gloom (The drought years did a number on me) so I'll stick with my Antonio Brown theory.
