The crazy part about this is, if they followed more than a few posters on here as far as draft advice goes, we would be in a much better situation right now. I’m not saying that for myself, but quite a few posters. That’s really sad truthfully. So kudos to you guys.

I mean, sure, we would have collectively avoided some of the misses, but we also would have collectively missed a whole lot, too.

Legitimately, the answer is fire everyone.

 

Cut all the bum contracts. Knox, Samuel, etc etc. all the guys we can eat the money for next year with penalty but also additional savings.

 

I probably trade Coleman if I can get a 4th or conditional 4th. 
 

Hire a younger offensive mind. Probably from the Shanahan tree. I try to dangle AHC/DC duties to a Vic Fangio or a Brian Flores. We are unfortunately cooked when it comes to defensive personnel for the most part, but I’d like to get an experienced DC in there to revamp roles, responsibilities and see who can actually produce.

 

I dangle our 2026 first for a player. Would have no problem going for Waddle or AJB.
 

I would try to hang onto our second and see if we can get a premium positional player, either an EDGE or a tackle or even a WR.

I’d bring in a bunch of end of roster guys to fill in the rest of the gaps. We don’t need middle class FAs anymore and we aren’t wasting any more money on them to be the 5th or 6th DL or the 5th or 6th WR. I’d try to get another body at WR in the fourth or even 3rd unless we draft one with our second.

 

Id pay the OL with the savings from the dead weight we cut. No other big moves.

 

My idea for groupings would be:

 

Josh

 

Cook, Ty, Davis

 

1st round trade vet (waddle, AJB), Palmer, Shakir, rookie, +\- another rookie and Keon.

Kincaid, Hawes, street FA/UFA

OL as it stands

It baffles me that people like you never think of the fact that we have the greatest qb to ever play for the Bills when you say things like this.  Any of the drought coaches would have won with Josh Allen, heck, one of them may could have won a SB with him.  There is a reason that McDermott was recently ranked 15th as coach, even with all the wins you mentioned.  He is average...at BEST.  Any decent coach and GM would have at least 1 SB with Josh Allen by now

I’d probably keep McDermott, but tell him he needs to hire a new OC and DC from outside the building and they both better hit or the runway is short.

 

Restructure Knox, move off Samuel, Johnson etc., Let McGovern and Edwards walk.  Get SVPG, Anderson, Grable and Lundt with Kromer all offseason battling for open spots at LG, C and swing tackle.

Priority #4 - Linebackers

 

Priority #5 - OL, depending on how they view what they have in the system 

 

Priority #6 - Run stuffing DT

 

Priority #7 - CB Depth

 

Thats a lot of holes, but only the Top 2 should require big swings in $$$ or draft capital.  NCB may be a Day 2 pick.  Fill in via the Draft and smaller signings everywhere else. 
 

New OC and a WR1 fix the biggest weaknesses in this Offense.  OL may require a changing of the guard but these guys coming up have been with Kromer for 2-3 years now. 
 

Defense probably doesn’t get fixed entirely, but with Oliver & Hoecht back, plus a Bosa return or other DE signing, the DL has potential to be good.  Walker/Sanders year 2.  Jackson, Solomon, Carter are bodies but we have to hope they become serviceable depth. 
 

Get younger, bigger at LB to push Bernard (who has an out in his contract after next year) and find a young talented NCB to upgrade over what Johnson has become.

i do a sit down w mcd and ask him what he and beane did wrong, and how to fix it.  brady is gone.

This crew has been around too long, and been The Team to game plan / draft against for too long to be successful anymore IMO (hoping to eat crow).

 

They've promoted from within and been together too long to come up with any new ideas.

 

I'm terrified of the potential drought returning, but I believe that had more to do with liquid assets / contract structures, than it did just about anything else. Meaning, I don't believe we're necessarily at risk for that happening again with the current owners / investment in the franchise.

 

So I say we need clear out everyone (other than Kromer). And enough with the Billsy mentality of "who's available that will want the job?" and think "Who TF wouldn't want to be handed the keys to this race car of a team?"

 

It's like a dream opportunity! I bet better than 1/2 the current head coaches in the NFL would trade jobs today for the chance. So contracts aside (we can buy them out right and it doesn't affect the cap)...lets assume we can nearly call our shot...

McDermott is a good coach, but he'd be out.  Trade for AJ Brown. No more tweener, jack of all trade - master of none defensive draft picks.

 

This is an outdoor, cold weather team.  The defense should reflect that.

I'd what the Broncos did, just admit your mistakes and take your dead cap and bad contract pain immediately.  Hire a offensive minded HC that brings in two things- the ability to leverage a prime HOF Josh Allen, and take the culture in a new direction.  Hire the best DC you can buy, and set him loose to build his scheme with his guys.  

 

I'd also focus on always having  an Elite #1 Receiver, Elite RB and Elite LT, either Elite DT or Edge Rusher.  We need game changers.  You already have Elite QB, this shouldn't be rocket science.

 

I'd draft BPA, stock up on the best talent possible.

 

I just want "trust the process" gone, no ill will, but its getting old an delivering the same or worse results.
