All I know is Davis will be used for something because McD wouldnt use a callup on a WR when he could use it on defense if there wasn't some plan for Davis. Especially when the other callup was also an offensive player.

I mean, they ARE good with WR screens. I am not sure what you are watching honestly. RB screens, that's a different story. WR screens they have been highly effective with in terms of what they are trying to accomplish.

 

Using a few games where they didn't work well but ignoring the myriad of games going all the way back to Daboll calling "Gold Rip/Whip" to John Brown who made numerous big plays on those as well seems pretty disingenuous. 

 

The reason they keep running them is because they are usually very effective, not because they aren't.

 

I think the reason they keep running it is because they have no confidence in throwing it more than 5 yards downfield.

They should bench Coleman to send a message about disipline and effort. Especially if there is any hope for his development. Shavers is not an NFL receiver.

Just listened to it and it was excellent.  Basically Brady is doing nothing much to scheme the receivers open for intermediate routes.  If I followed correctly, Brady is relying on pure receiver skill to get open.  Cosell pointed out you don't need all-world receivers to get guys open.  Reminds me of the plain vanilla defense Wannstedt used to play.  Reading between the lines, Brady is playing checkers instead of three dimensional chess that other teams do. Lord I hope he has an epiphany. 

 

I think most of us would settle for standard, regular chess.

Except when you actually watch the all 22 many times the problem is Allen more than the WRs not getting open.

 

In the 3 losses, Allen not making "layup" throws that he usually takes or being mentally prepared or simply missing things he almost never misses were far bigger issues than anything else.

Wow...gusts over 30 during the entire game with winds around 20mph is definitely going to have an effect.

Precip chance increased significantly from this morning as well even tho it looks like it will be light...still makes for slippery balls and footing.

And that’s scary to me.  I always felt Josh could get down on himself or outside stuff, and it affects his game.  He’s human. But he’s getting paid a king’s ransom to get his head out of his ass and elevate those around him.

I'm willing to criticize Allen here and get attacked not because I think he's in trouble 

 

But because I know he is so good and he has more... He does go through lulls 

 

But even on and off day he might go from the best player in the world to the 7th

 

The thing is since we are putting the ball in the hands of cook so much.. it amplifies every single time Josh touches the ball 

 

When he was throwing 36 times consistently one bad throw doesn't even seem that big... When you're only throwing 22 times in a game every single play that you don't execute is magnified 

 

That's the difference 

 

His opportunities to do what he does is down right now .. and that makes the margin of error smaller 

 

But he still snaps into the zone and he's the best player in the world

Josh has always been great at doing the great things..   even making the really good things look normal but he's always kind of faltered with 

some of the basics that most qbs fair well with. 

 

Not sure if he just loses focus..tends to focus to much on the big things or just coaches not pushing him with fundamentals.

Be fair I played football for 20 years and I think I got that look all the time lol definitely think I got CTE

 

Does that mean I'm always toast?
