And it’s provable.  Maybe someone could pull up the snap counts for exact numbers but….

Today, against Atlanta, and against Carolina, I noticed that on the second defensive series, they will have our 2nd and 3rd string DL guys in. TO START OFF THE DRIVE!  They are not filling in. This is planned.  Landon Jackson got hurt when he was in with Solomon.  In what world would Landon Jackson and Solomon be on the field at the same time!?!?

the staff clearly believes they will easily beat these teams, and want the backups to get reps.

this is a clear indication that the staff doesn’t treat every game as seriously as the next, and I think that’s trickling down to the players.

I think they also keep injured guys out who could probably play but to whom they want to give an extra week's rest. "It's okay, we're only playing (bad team)."

Don't think the players aren't picking up on this and assuming the game will be a cakewalk.

well that attitude already trickled down to the fans some time ago

in fact, for a fan base (at least on this board) that only seems to care about the post-season tournament and whether the Bills win it or not, folks are getting awfully agitated about a random regular season game

(..pretty good troll if I do say so myself..).   relax folks, its not even January...

I think they do this with their decisions to sit players who are close to ready coming off an injury too. When I saw the inactive list today I had this thought.

I can’t stand hearing that from fans and these radio hosts/podcasters either… “oh just sit said player another game it’s only the dolphins etc”

Ok, you all have fun losing your minds and being irrational.  In another thread it was Beane deliberately trying to spite fans, now its coaches don’t take games seriously.

Yes! I do believe you are correct.

I think they take every game very seriously, which to me makes all the stinker games over the years even more concerning. This bipolar nature is just who they are and lighting a fire under them won’t fix it.

I mean, it's amazing to me that reports never came out about how bad it was with Whaley and Ryan. Rex and his brother drinking all night before games. Whaley getting drunk and more and causing fights at away games over women.

These guys are not scouts compared to the past regimes. They're just not better at footballing, either.

I'm not sure but sometimes I feel we play down to our opponents. Today we played below our opponent. A loss is one thing but not showing up to play is another. Other than Cole Bishop it didn't seem like anyone was taking this game seriously.

You don't need to bring up snaps. It is obvious they don't take these games seriously because they come out flat and disinterested every time they face an inferior team. This coach is sinking this team with his approach. It's long overdue to move on from this arrogant a hole.

Yeah that’s not exactly provable.  They always rotate their defensive lineman.

I just think they need to fire Brady and rebuild the offense

I think clearly the entire team doesnt take every game seriously.  It has been obvious. I would include even JA in this.  The difference in attitude and urgency was obviously different from KC to today's game.  And I dont blame just the coaching.  If these players need to be coached into going into every game with a sense of urgency and purpose then they are children.  You cant blame coaching for everything.  We have a mentally weak group.  Having said that I have no problem firing these coordinators.  Except I am not sure they will actually hire competent replacements.

I wanted to see Landon play but ofcourse he gets injured on the first play

He got completely trucked on that play, basically bent over backwards---very poor technique.

I think there is something to what we're saying on this thread.  They are engaged in a season long experiment in load management.  This is the hottest thing in sports especially in those sports with very long seasons like Basketball & Baseball.

I agree that Bean & McD aren't trying to lose and they aren't trying to "spite fans" - that would be crazy and they aren't crazy.  Both guys want to win a Super Bowl more then we fans do.  And they think this approach, which involves load managing injury's and Allen is the way to get the Lombardi trophy.  But to properly load manage you have to, behind closed doors, look at some teams differently then others.  You have to think that you can beat certain teams with an 80% effort while against others you need a 110% effort.

If we are right then the issue is whether load management works in football.  It works in baseball with 162 games and basketball with 82 games but IMO it won't work in football with only 17 regular season games.

Bean/McD made a decision to focus on defense at the expense of offense relying on their elite QB to overcome shortcomings in the offense.  A lot of us think that has been a strategic mistake.  If they're now engaged in aggressive load management and not treating every game as the Super Bowl then that to might be a mistake.

Only time will tell if this will work and the season is not over yet - not by a long shot.  But it's fair to note what's going on.

the flaws in our game plans are pretty obvious.

we come in with our plan, and we stick to our plan, maybe with the odd wrinkle.  on D today i give a mulligan because the o was so putrid and we had so many players hurt.  the announcers were talking about how brady was saying he wanted to get keon more involved.  every single drive where we "feature" keon early is a punt or a turnover.  he caught the one nice tub, but whenever it was a clearly drawn up play for him it was cheeks.  we also had screens to the wr very short, and a couple trash screens to the rbs.  oh, and a jet sweep!  like, they don't want to put the best players on the field and push that, not today, they wanted to assert themselves as this drop back passing team with what looked like extremely telegraphed runs, and it showed.

it's simply arrogance.  any time we actually play with some balance and unpredictability we get great results.  our coaches were all the way in their bags vs kc, and this one was half azzed and kinda mailed in.

i think what we are seeing, especially on offense, are players and a qb who just don't believe in what they are doing.
