Bernards little ass gets run over on the regular and you do not notice Milano out there at all. Both need to be gone last year.

Shaq Thompson is better than both.  I don't think Milano is back next year but we're stuck with Bernard until 2027 without eating a large dead cap hit.

Bernard is horrendous and he just got a 4 year extension

The performance of Bernard this year is probably the most disappointing of any player on the roster. Rapp and Coleman are in the conversation, but Bernard has been abysmal and the decision to pay him is not looking wise.

They absolutely should not, unless it's a depth, vet minimum "try to earn a spot" contract.

 

He's spent most of his time in Buffalo with the trainers. Enough with these signings.

Turn it over to 45 and 42 and let Milano play the WLB on obvious passing downs. Please stop going to nickel as often as we do. You gotta put 3 LBs on the field. Never being able to stop the run is killing us

When Jackson got hurt and then D Jones was out for a bit, (admittedly he did come back in but not sure he was really should have been playing), add to that 86 degree temps and high humidity, and other starters and even the backups to the starters were out in a couple cases.  I figured 2nd half was going to go like it did defensively.  The 3 and outs in the first half by offense didn't help much either.

 

But yes LB was also an issue

8, 58, 7, and rapp have all been absolute trash this season.  benford, daquan, and oliver too, if we factor in injuries.  six of those 7 are our highest paid guys on D.

 

the linebacker unit, now that bishop seems to have arrived, is our worst unit on D, and that includes when we have our 4th and 5th cb in.  3 lbs (sadly one was hurt today) have played way way better than 8.  he's awful this season.

What we've gotten from him instead is someone who is a liability but doesn't make up for it by creating turnovers or being an effective blitzer. 

 

I have no doubt that Beane will panic and use a day 1 or early day 2 draft pick on a LB. 

Except for the interception he got this year that won us the first Miami game. There was also a massive fumble he created last year on mark Andrews in the playoffs

Re-signing Bernard wasn't a head scratcher. He should take over the WLB next year. He's just a bad fit at MLB. 
 

His run defense has been poor this season, but Larry O was the only DT who isn't a washed up p-squad vet or rookie until DQ returned today. 
 

His pass coverage has been fine.
