Clearly at least opening up the possibility for a trade

Makes me feel like something is in the works or at least getting close. Restructuring Taron at this point just because, doesn't make sense to me. Injury replacements off the street would not effect the salary cap very much, if at all.

Yup and Taron has t been lighting it up the last 2 years, so kicking the can doesn't make sense without it meaning something

1.75m isn't much in and of itself. But the timing of it most likely says they have something in the works that requires them creating space. Which is huge.

IT also means that Johnson is in their plans in 2026 and beyond..or they are willing to take that hit in salary cap next few years.

On one end Shaheed or Olave makes the most sense, but on the flip side, Albert Breer was talking about how difficult Mikey Loomis is to deal with, when it comes to trades. I think  character wise, no chance it's someone like AJ Brown, even if the Eagles were shopping him.

I wouldn't mind a slight overpay for a big play maker.

Welcome to Buffalo Rashid

Is Rasheed that good and different than Josh Palmer (whom we are paying $30M+ )

He isn’t much better (but much faster), but he is the only realistic one on that list unless they somehow pry Olave away.

He would improve the kick return punt return units immediately alone.

not sure what kind of numbers he would put up here in this offense.

The only problem with acquiring both Shaheed and meyers is that both play in the slot where Shakir plays. That wouldn't make much sense to acquire either 1 of those guys imo I like bboth of them but that would force 1 of them either Shaheed/Meyers or Shakir to play outside which I'm pretty sure they don't do very often at all.

Meyers played out wide for about 70% of snaps in 2023 and 2024. He was about 50% this year with the new staff.

Shaheed isn’t a traditional X but does align wide over 60% of the time his entire career

Shaheed plays mostly on the outside

Waddle would take on a cap hit of just $585,000

BTJ carries a cap hit of just $480,000

Olave would account for a cap hit of $749,970

Would love Waddle or BTJ but doubt either gets traded. I’d give up a 7th rounder for Jermaine Burton. Seems like he’s fallen out of favor with the bengals coaching staff but dude is a blazer and worth the gamble imo.

correct and if that was the case, they might as well have drafted Ladd McKonkey last year and they would have had a cap-friendly player at that position for next four years.
