Yea very clearly he is a role player. We shouldn’t expect him to be a go-to player, but someone that adds another dimension to the passing attack and special teams. I don’t think he will ever be more than that personally, but the ability he does have is valuable.

As for WR they brought in Palmer and Moore.  Palmer, as with the examples above, got hurt.  Moore has not been a revelation but made a big catch yesterday and Palmer made a few before he got hurt.  Brady has a balanced offense going with Cook a premier rusher, and Shakir and Kincaid the main receiving threats.  And from all accounts Beane has been working the phones for another WR.

 

So the arguments about a WR have some validity, while your others do not unless you believe GMs should be Nostradamus.

I know you can’t predict injuries in the NFL. My point is as a GM for a team favored to go to the SB, with arguably the best QB/RB tandem in football, you must make an acquisition to address positions of need. The D-tackle position has been decimated by injuries and our best players(Oliver, Jones and Hoecht) are out indefinitely. Hairston played half the snaps yesterday and was OK. Having Ingram, Tre and Lewis as depth is NG. Hairston is inexperienced and has played one game. At receiver, the roster was constructed without a #1 or #2. Our 2nd year receiver( Coleman )is basically invisible and Palmer (injured) is another slot. Shouldn’t Josh have a vertical guy to take advantage of his arm talent. The thread is “deadline trade deals” not how Beane should not be blamed for injuries that decimated the D-line. It’s not about Brady’s balanced attack, it’s about getting better with a deadline acquisition.

I’m torn because part of me wants to punch Brandon Beane in the balls for wasting multiple picks on D linemen who don’t contribute like Dwayne Carter, Landon Jackson, and Sanders when those picks could’ve been used for wide receivers like Troy Franklin and Tory Horton but then I’m like OK whatever let’s just burn another draft pick or 2 because maybe the guys we do get make the difference on us actually winning it all.

 

If we somehow could grab waddle and Campbell for cheap, I would be happy but I doubt Miami is gonna trade with us

Oh for the love of Pete Tory Horton has one game in which he scores two TDs and now is a “see I told u so”?  I don’t recall seeing h name once on this board until just now.

The AFC just feels so freaking wide open this year. I would love to push the chips all in and go for it even if it means an overpay. Obviously I mean within reason and not like sending a 1st and 2nd for Olave but just go for it Brandon. The last thing I want to hear is "didn't want to mortgage our future". Championships live forever.

Bills apparently have called Saints about Olave deal but nothing yet on that front...

Yeah, I really am past the point of caring about contract mumbo jumbo and long term whatever.

 

Nobody will give a ***** if we make several huge moves and win the Super Bowl. I really think that should be the mindset versus any kind of hedging for the next couple years.

i was thinking the exact same thing earlier today. There is no clear cut elite team so far this year. If we add a piece or two that elite team could easily be us. 
 

I think we are elite already but do have holes.

We talked about him in draft thread as a guy that slid. That said his stats this year aren't great except his TD%.

he actually has two games already in his career where he scored two touchdowns. Saints game too (1 receiving and 1 return TD). He was the top draft WR fit for the Bills imo and had him ranked as such in the pre draft WR thread
