Beyond the guy being a complete fake, LSU has an inflated idea of who they are.  Another place Joe Brady can consider in the offseason.

He's the first coach in 24 years to not win a National championship at LSU 

 

I don't know if I'd say inflated ego LSU is a very good football school .. the pressure of the job and being in the bayou makes it tough to stay for a long time

Being reported Kelly was fired for insubordination. 

Not confirmed.

 

Apparently LSU AD Woodward wanted Kelly to fire Sloan, the OC.

Kelly refused, and wanted to fire some position coaches on the offensive side instead.

Woodward said no.

Wonder how they convinced him to cut his buyout in half and leave $27M on the table? Maybe the threat of "trashing him" in the media so he doesnt work again? Or rather the suggestion that they can end it amicably for $27M...

Yeah, I wondered that to.

Especially after I found out his buyout was not a one time payment, and it was to be spread out over 6 years. ($9M year).

 

Speculation is running wild right now.

 

If he was fired for insubordination, LSU may have told him he was not getting his buyout. If he did not like it, see you in court.

 

Personal skeletons in Kelly's closet that LSU was aware of when they hired him and Kelly did not want to go public.

 

Potential "show cause" incidents. LSU may suffer in the short term, but would make Kelly toxic to other programs looking for a coach.
