Now it’s “true. will be interesting to see how it plays out”. At least you are measured and rational. Good God. Still waiting to see a Republican healthcare plan. And now you support SNAP. Got it.

I saw an interview with a Republican Congressman on CNBC early this week, talking about the shutdown and specifically, the health care component of it. He mentioned that the Affordable Care Act is seriously flawed, and guaranteed this kind of expense appreciation. On a positive note, he mentioned that there is a bipartisan group that has suggested a number of provisions that would change it, and clean it up to make it work. Again, bipartisan. Not the warfare you see on TV. Get the gov started and go this route, and I think we would be headed in the right direction. Use as a political weapon and we go nowhere. 2 1 1
milfandcookies Posted yesterday at 04:33 PM Posted yesterday at 04:33 PM It was a weird compromise to begin with. “We’re gonna offer government funded healthcare but you still gotta choose from one of the greedy insurance companies. They are going to offer it, even though they don’t even know about it yet” lol

unbillievable Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago If nothing else, this SNAP controversy opened my eyes to money wasted on this program. I never realized that the average benefit spends 5X more than I budget for food per month. 1 1

And there is a significant black market in food stamps, with people buying things like cases of coke and reselling them at a 50% discount.
nedboy7 Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago I am self employed. My health insurance will go up 30%. That is quite absurd for a 8k deductible. I know dudes in rural areas that are going to have their premiums go up 1k a month. ***** is about to get weird. I mean you send 20 Billion to Argentina but you dont have 35 Billion for health care? WTF? 32 Billion for ICE? 3 1

But if you've ever gotten a bill for a hospital stay or paid for nursing home care for an elderly family member you'll know the definition of greedy.

I don’t consider people seeking a better life here to be “invaders.” Do you believe a violent criminal who comes to the US because they are wanted in Mexico, or another country, to be an invader? And yes there is enough of those that it needs to be discussed 1

Going from 1000 to 1300 a month. 8k deductible. Last year we both met our deductible. We spent 28k on health care. Routine *****. Pretty sad for the best country in the world. Hey, if some other country allowed me to come in illegally without suffering any consequences and then offered me a taxpayer funded lifestyle that was comparable to a life of luxury in my home country I'd do it too. The root of the problem isn't the illegals. Its the "using other people's money" to fund my personal and political ambitions politicians, government funded NGO;s, and officials facilitating the influx of people. Its just a guess but if all the freebies and subsidies were eliminated might the problem solve itself? Edited 7 hours ago by All_Pro_Bills
Joe Ferguson forever Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago (edited) 45-33 would be a nice score for a Bills win Sunday night. It's not a good score for trump on the shutdown. https://thehill.com/homenews/5582193-trump-gop-blamed-shutdown/ Edited 5 hours ago by Joe Ferguson forever
