Christian Watson. Blazing speed with size. Will take the top off the D and open up space for Shakir and Kinkaid. Greenbay may be willing to trade. Question is can the bills affo extention similar to Shakir. Or can the Bills afford to Franchise him next yr.

Defensively Dane Belton.

Look what he is doing for the Giants. Always around the Ball. Big time tackler, ball hawk, high energy player. Also brings a ton to the special teams.

Those are some good ideas that could be realistic. Watson has his injury issues,  but I’m sure he could be picked up for a reasonable price.

It feels like we need to make a move, especially at WR, or else we need to shift our play calling as many have suggested. As it is, Cook is our second best offensive player, and he needs to be used like that.

I still haven’t gotten over the fact that we took him off of the field on 3rd and 1 and ran the end around sweep to a wr. If they wanted to be tricky, a play action to Cook would have done the job, everyone would be thinking it would be a run to Cook, and that itself wouldn’t have been a bad call either.

Anyway, thanks for coming up with some different suggestions. I’m all for either.

If Watson could be had cheap I'd kick the tires. I wanted to draft him and while he hasn't delivered on his potential so far and has had issues staying healthy his skillset is the one we lack.

Ah the old "teams around the NFL are lining up to send their best players to Buffalo" routine.

I don’t think Christian Watson falls into this category. He really hasn’t done a lot, mostly because of injuries, and GB has drafted a lot of WR’s, and now they have a new first round rookie. I could see them getting something for Watson, because I don’t think they resign him.

Why would they ever trade him? They are gunning for a SB and he's a useful tool. Their current offensive production is a tick below last season's, and he's the sort of deep threat who can open things up underneath. Maybe he's still too injured to make that difference, but in that case the Bills should avoid him too.

Because he has never lived up to his potential and produces very little?

Its like asking why would the Bills trade Coleman during a Super Bowl run - except Watson does have some talent.

Im surprised OP didn’t mention Maxx Crosby. Id give up good draft capital for him and he is always rumored to be available.

I suppose the thinking is bit of a backlog at the position but I suppose you are probably right. Golden hasn't taken off yet, Reed is out, Savion is a gimmick player, they have converted Bo Melton to corner and Wicks and Doubs are more complimentary than feature guys.

I still like it as an idea though, definitely a call worth making.

Well, he was on pace for 50 catches/800 yards/9 TDs in 2023. But he got hurt. Last year, he had only 29 catches, but he averaged over 21 yards per reception. He's obviously not Jamar Chase, but he's something the Bills don't have right now. Of course, he's coming off an ACL, so who knows how serviceable he is right now.

In theory, though, he's more physically gifted than Coleman and far better suited to the X role: taller 6'4" and faster (4.36 40). Coleman does have a bigger wingspan (78 1/8" to 77 5/8"), which essentially makes up for the inch that Watson has on him. Watson has bigger hands and a slightly better vertical (38.5" to 38"). Watson had a WAY better 10 yard split, though - 1.45 to Coleman's 1.62.

Just a better athlete.

GB seems to have no issues drafting WRs that can get downfield and separate and also catch the ball short and intermediately and separate.

Maybe the Bills should investigate and study the type of players they are drafting.
