JP51 Posted October 15 Posted October 15 Yeah, this isnt about two losses... breathe... this is about 4-0 and the board going I dunno man we looked pretty crappy... I fear the abject personnel failures in drafting and FA combined with some really bad coaching especially coming from McD/Babich is finally coming home to roost, not that I have been at all impressed with Brady... and the one guy you do have outside of Allen in Cook you literally sit most of the 4th quarter... like we need a quick over haul... and it actually may involve a difficult year next year... because not only have the personnel decisions and drafting been abhorrent, but the contracts we hand out for non production for guys like Samuel, Palmer, Hoecht, Ogunjobi, Roussseau, Ford, Miller, Oliver, Knox, etc... plus the dead cap stuff ... is gonna hurt us.... but we have to get out from underneath these contracts and start drafting better... I am not giving up but they keep filling the tire with liquid patch... and it keeps leaking... might be time for a new tire. 1 1 Quote

I remember we had a thread wherein questioning how we won was mocked. How dare we examine the flaws when we dubbed? I was in that thread. I wanted to billieve we could somehow win "UGLY" and it be glossed over. well so much for that theory I liked your analogy at the end as well as the rest of what you wrote. Great food for thought as is often the case at TBD 2 Quote
Success Posted October 15 Posted October 15 Time has passed, and I have done my usual rationalizations, and I'm looking forward to the remainder of the season w/ optimism that we'll win the division and likely get the 1 seed. My reasoning, or delusion, depending on your vantage point: - While all teams are banged up, we had some really key injuries the other night that without doubt impacted the game. I think if Kincaid had played, or even if Palmer was in the whole game, we win. It's actually pretty admirable how the D played in the 2nd half without either starting LB, and with a patchwork secondary. - On that last point - the defense DID look good in the 2nd half. Oliver & Walker are dominant on that line. Rousseau hasn't played to a level that we necessarily expect, but he is a force out there, and his speed is really evident when you watch him on downs. I think getting Hairston and Hoecht in particular could give that unit a real boost & make them at least average, and it wouldn't surprise me to see an add to the secondary by deadline. - I fully expect a WR add by the deadline, and hopefully during this bye week period. Even getting a guy like Meyers will elevate everyone. Coleman has been a disappointment, but he did have the top corner on him the other night. An addition would at least take some attention away from him. - It definitely feels like we have this kind of short stretch every year, and it's been pointed out that McD's teams always lose 2 in a row at some point. - The Patriots are being overrated right now. We really handed them that game, and people are raving about a 6-point win over the Saints. There is trepidation when looking at their schedule, but I think almost any of those teams could beat them. They're not at that level yet where teams like the Giants, Bengals & Falcons are any kind of gimme for them. I said it on another thread, but I'm getting some "Hail Murray" season vibes right now. I remember when we lost that game, it was pretty devastating, and a lot of uncertainty here on the quality of our team, and how things were going to go from that point. That was also in October. There was speculation we could collapse. Then we proceeded to win every game until the AFCCG. Quote

I think we need to somehow reset the cap... Bring in a defensive mind... and help Beane with his drafting. 1 Quote

The Defensive Line saw a tangible jump in juice with him infused into the lineup. He was able to pick up a lot of slack for Ed Oliver going down on passing downs as well. Now we really need to get another Defensive Tackle in here. And we still have an issue with WR's getting open. Thankfully, Dalton Kincaid is at least *a* option that seems to get open with some sort of consistency. Hopefully he can stay on the field. But we still need someone there. The win was obviously a high. And I don't think anyone was really thinking we would be picking in the Top 10 or anything. The issue is that we've done (many times over) the Division win. We've done the beating the Chiefs in the Regular Season thing. And we've done the multiple Playoff wins. Being good isn't the bar. Fans are looking for a Super Bowl team. And as good as the past couple weeks have been, I still need to see some parts added (DT, WR, and/or S) before I feel like we can win one. Beating the Chiefs in the Regular Season means nothing in the grand scheme of things. Especially this year with them at 5-4. Edited November 3 by BillsFanForever19 1 Quote
TFBillsfan Posted November 3 Posted November 3 Hoping the Bills take care of business against MIA and TB knocks out NE. Chargers and Steelers go head to head. Ravens could have a tough time on the road at MN. If all goes well in week 10, Bills will be back on top in the AFCE next week! 1 Quote

Bills are in good division shape assuming they win the pats rematch… lot of pressure on that game though. the win over the chiefs was huge since the pats are still behind by a conference loss and have the ravens on the schedule. the bills real tough afc matchups are pretty much done but there’s some sneaky ones 2 Quote

There is only one game left that will be an easier opponent than this one. Quote

DieHardBillsFan Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago This is the type of thinking that keeps a team at mediocrity and out of the playoffs for 17 years. The writing is on the wall. Brady has to go and if that doesn't fix things McD is done. 1 Quote
