BillsFan130 Posted November 3 Posted November 3 I just don't see enough creativity from Joe Brady. Romo even called him out when the bills kept running the same run play over and over again. I think if the bills ran more play action on 1st down, this game would have been a 2-3 score victory 1 Quote
BuffaloBillyG Posted November 3 Posted November 3 (edited) I saw earlier, Cook's huge catch in the fourth quarter was his first reception since the Saints game. That's 3 (almost 4) games without him catching a pass. This is insane. Edited November 3 by BuffaloBillyG 1 2 Quote

It takes a tremendous amount of discipline to stick to the run like that. Maybe they could have mixed up their running plays. But the commitment to the run was impressive. Allowed us to control the clock, and get us in 3rd and manageable. Edited November 3 by Miyagi-Do Karate Quote

But there's just so many times they are in 2nd and 10 because a predictable run on 1st down into a stacked box got stuffed. Against Spags? That's just a recipe for disaster 1 1 Quote
Billsfanatic8989 Posted November 3 Posted November 3 He was a little better today. Would like to see Cook catching more passes. Quote

But I think they had a ton of success on first down. Chiefs definitely stiffened up in the second half and we did get into second and long a few times. But more often than not, we were getting 3-5 yards on 1st down. I think there is a direct correlation between that commitment to the run and Josh ending up with basically 2-3 incompletions all game. 1 Quote
GASabresIUFan Posted November 3 Posted November 3 I think everyone would like Brady better if we had better and a more diverse group of wideouts. Coleman is a big slot. Shakir, Moore, and Samuel are inside slots. Shavers is a PS player and Palmer is hurt. Quote

Big Blitz Posted 34 minutes ago Posted 34 minutes ago The moves we’re making at WR - isn’t this Beane admitting it’s not a play caller / OC issue? Beane is the one that looks incompetent at the moment regarding the WR production / lack there of. So this makes me feel much better about Brady as OC. It's what we’ve all known that apparently an NFL GM did not and that was our weapons are just not good enough. Quote

He's predictable and opposing players/coaches are openly clowning him. Beane is a joke. That doesn’t absolve Brady though. 19M tied up in 2 WR’s who can’t stay on the field. A 1st for a TE who’s always injured and we don’t know how to use. Comical mismanagement of pass catchers for JA. 1 Quote

The rest is awful unless Cook can get 6 yards a carry I've never seen a statistical breakdown but I'm quite sure that all teams have the greatest percentage of success on their first drives of each half... the scripted plays that they've practiced, memorized, and visualized. The best offenses are the ones where the defense really doesn't know what the play call will be on any given down and distance. The Bills are deliberate and predictable. An offense can't always "impose its will." It has to try to keep the defense guessing too. Under Brady the Bills have brought in WRs (Samuel, Moore, Valdes-Scantling) that have had some success elsewhere with poor quarterbacking and proceeded to watch those players disappear despite playing with one of the all-time great QBs. It's more than just talent. 33 minutes ago, Big Blitz said: The moves we’re making at WR - isn’t this Beane admitting it’s not a play caller / OC issue? Yes, the talent could be better but again, as I wrote above... Edited 1 minute ago by Sierra Foothills 1 1 Quote
