And honestly it worked then because between the two we got one that worked out for us.
 

Maybe you can say the same thing about TJ and Walker this year but going into this years draft it was clear we needed a couple big DTs and athletic CBs. Since Beane was so confident that we can get a good DT later aka Walker …. Props to him BTW 

 

That doubling up at CB early would made a lot of sense,

We've had obvious pass rush situations, 3rd and 6+, we aren't playing contain.  We just aren't getting home.

 

Groot isnt a bend player, he plays with leverage and strength.  Not sure what youre watching, but its not a contain rush.  Its just that Groot isnt a pass rush demon - Bosa brings some of that juice, but we are so bad at CB2 and with our safeties, that our coverage and rush are never synced

Nobody could get open. That was screaming for a huge play but his receivers couldn’t oblige.

He's loosened Groot up a little bit the last two weeks and it's clearly made him a more impactful player.

But that has not been the norm at all since he's been here.

CREDIT - he got Oline right.  After 6 years of trying - realizing Quinton Spain was a bad idea.

This isn’t on coaching.  At least half the league has a better roster than us.  And some significantly so.

What the heck is McD supposed to do with this roster? 
 

Rapp and Tre are legitimately unrosterable. Tre in particular is damaging his legacy with us. He needs to retire.

It’s the GMs job to eventually get one of those situations correct? I understand we can’t talk about it because Keon needs 6 more years to develop and Max needs to play one down, but while we aren’t talking about it other teams are getting production from those draft picks and not using qualifying conditions to justify not judging players yet.

This is, imo, the worst overall team we have had in the JA era.

 

I've been a Beane supporter - but how can that not be a reflection on the GM?  You take Allen off of this team, and we might be picking in the top 3 of next year's draft.

To put that into perspective, our slow as molasses, late to meetings, drops a lot WR named Keon Coleman was a 2nd round pick.

Beane decided to invest in the d-line instead.

 

Pickens was also available - on a rookie contract(!) - for only a 3rd round pick.

 

We took Landon Jackson who looks like he doesn’t even belong in the NFL.

 

Idk i’ve always been a fan of using draft picks on proven commodities over lottery tickets.

Josh Palmer is the only one i’ll defend. He is a good complimentary WR.

 

He just isn’t a #1.

And yeah,let's think this thru.  All of a sudden Babich and McD decide to let Groot rush the passer these past 2 weeks (as you claim) OR Groot is finally healthy enough to do so.
