Fair point there for sure but I’d be interested to see how this season plays out…the guys are close statistically right now with the edge going to Kincaid so far this year I’d say.  Wasn’t like kincaid’s rookie season was bad either.  Could be year 2 was a bit of an outlier or it could be he’s not much better than ok…probably too early to say

The discussion wasn’t “should we fire Beane?” - I have been clear on my stance that no one from the current regime should go.

 

The discussion was whether a GM deserves blame for selecting the wrong player. That’s it! That’s all of it. Nothing else. And YES - a GM should absolutely shoulder blame for selecting the wrong player, even if others thought the player he selected was the better choice.

By your definition of a GM (just doing what everyone thinks is the right decision), we could simply fire the GM and scouting staff and simply select draft picks based on the average consensus of prognosticators.

This is my last comment to this, because your comments are just not making any sort of logical argument. They are not paid to know the future-that’s idiotic. They are trying to make predictions with the information they currently have. By your logic, teams should have known to take Brady #1 overall, the Browns would e taken Josh #1, and the Bills should’ve predicted that Vin would tear his ACL 8 games into his first season here. They’re paid to KNOW the future, right?

Browns GM lost his job after that, and many people admonished the Bills for paying an old Von that much money when older players get injured more often.

And really we should never fire a GM, because they can’t possibly know what the right decision is… we should still have Buddy Nix.

Agree, Every game like it or not is a must win, that is the attitude our guys need to adopt, jmo.

I believe the metric to judge a GM and coach is Super Bowl wins. Isn't that the ultimate goal ?

Careful...people will tell you that you are overreacting if you call this a "must win" (even though it really is, considering the division with NE, and the AFC at large with Indy, Denver/Chargers). We really need to win this game, get to the bye, get the guys back from suspension, and go on a run to create some separation.

Just came across these tidbits this afternoon:

Josh Allen has 12 TD passes vs the blitz this year..the highest in the NFL..since 2022, he is the highest rated quarterback vs the blitz.

So far this season, the team with the highest blitz rate??...Atlanta

And the Jason Licht traded the pick that would’ve landed Josh Allen…. He failed.  And then he won a Super Bowl 3 years later.  Gms fail all the time.  All of them.  Ever.

I just happened to look through them today and it seems they bring the entire practice squad with them - is that normal for an away game?

 

Tyler Bass and Hairston were in the pics too, maybe they are both close to a return.
