the stark difference between our Sunday night game, and last night's game highlights how the officials are at least as important as the players. Our game they they were looking for any excuse to throw a flag, this week KC has zero flags. Though this week they also had  something brand new, a non reviewable play was reviewed.

TayTay probably had to call in some favors for that one.

The refs all got autographed copies of her new album.

Bills get hammered with flags with crew Hochuli working the game last week and KC gets zip nada zero flags with this NFL flagship crew? Zero penalties has happened 12 x since 2019.

This league is absolutely widely inconsistent when it comes to how games are called.

In a fairly officiated game the Lions would have lost last night because their defense played bad and their O made a couple crucial mistakes. But the final score, which looks like KC dominance, is the direct result of thumbs on scale officiating that in some cases highly skews the final outcome.

I can't get past the blatant hold on Zion Logue on the long pass to Diggs. If that is not holding, I don't know what is. I did this in Camtasia. Let's see if it will work

Zion and all the Bills players need to a better job of selling those calls, he could have turned his body towards the defender as Maye moved to the sideline to sell that hold rather than fighting through it and being a complete non-factor in the play. The Patriots did a better job of this during that game, they sold those calls to the refs.

ZERO Penalties against KC

Disgraceful

after 13 the week before.  I guess they really cleaned up their game this past week....the Chiefs are a bastion of rule (and law) abiding, good citizenship.

I believe 3x for the Chiefs with Mahomes.

Wouldn’t surprise me.

I actually said early in the 1st quarter during the long Lions drive (that didn’t feature a drive killing holding that we got it right off the bat vs NE) I’m beginning to think the League no longer considers the Chiefs as league darlings and they won’t be getting “help.”

I thought they were flagged a lot at Jacksonville and at key times.

Literally 2 minutes later the Goff reversed TD call.

“After a conversation” was actually said by the ref.

I guess that was better than “NY called and said “we should have thrown a flag.”

Does that apply to obvious pass interference calls that aren’t called?  Where no flag hits the turf even after the play.

This league man.  I actually don’t care they threw few flags - it’s how it should be and roughly fairly equal unless it CLEARLY impacts a play.

But these last 2 Sundays just unacceptable.

I haven't looked through all 13 pages yet but here's my two cents.

In no way shape or form do I believe the league is rigged as far as the league pushing certain teams to win. I don't believe years ago, the NFL looked at Kansas City and said "yup, that's the new power franchise". If the league were fixed, Buffalo would have won a Super Bowl by now. Would be a HUGE story of the spunky small market team winning big. And few teams travel as well (or spend as much money) as Bills fans.

What I do believe is that officials are encouraged to keep the games close. Close games mean less people flipping away. More people stay the more they can charge for ads. Also, keep games close for the betting community. I can't remember an era where there seemed to be so few blow outs. Some weekends it seems like almost every game comes down to the final drive.

It does feel like the league is ensuring that certain narratives remain in place now that the Ravens' and Bengals' seasons have gone down in flames.

I'm not on board with the bulk of the officiating angst, but this is still outstanding

Right on time!

“Our findings suggest that when the league’s financial health is at stake, rule enforcement may subtly shift to protect market appeal,” ….

“we find that postseason officiating disproportionately favors the Mahomes-era Kansas City Chiefs”

I didn’t see the game but I did see the replay of kelces “catch” and it’s shocking that it was allowed to stand, but then I guess not so shocking in this league anymore
