There was no fight put up I went through the play by play. Yes, they were down 38-6 by halftime. @SoCal Deek pointed out that many metrics were relatively close between the teams: 21 1D for NOR vs 22 for SEA; 218 pass yards vs 233 pass yards; 79 rush yards vs 87 rush yards So clearly, NO was moving the ball, and especially, they had 3 long drives in the 1st half. That was my point: NOR was moving the ball. A major difference in the game was a couple of ST miscues (punt return TD for SEA, blocked punt for SEA) that led to early scores (also a 60 yd kickoff return) Another major difference was NOR just not being able to punch it in on those 3 long drives. They settled for 2 FG and had a missed FG (which of course, gave SEA another excellent field position). While SEA, as you note, did punch it in. 3 Quote

GolfandBills Posted Thursday at 04:19 AM Posted Thursday at 04:19 AM Everyone expecting a blowout will be disappointed i think. NFL teams rarely get blown out two weeks in a row regardless of talent. And with the way our defense plays im expecting a somewhat close game. Maybe a 10-14 point win. 1 2 Quote

Nostradumbass Posted Thursday at 05:00 AM Posted Thursday at 05:00 AM I'll never forget the 16.5 point spread because that was the Week 3 spread when the Bills went into Minnesota as underdogs in Josh's rookie season 1 3 1 Quote

Yep. people have short memories. The Saints had the ball on their final possessions with a chance to beat Arizona and SF. Those aren't horrible teams. The Seattle game got away because of 1st quarter special teams plays (punt return TD and blocked punt to set up another TD). Obviously those are one off plays that might happen once a seasons. This spread should be no more than the Miami game, maybe 10.5. It's just that oddsmakers view the Bills in such high esteem they can't get even money on both sides unless it's artificially high. 1 2 Quote

Or leave some inferior team in the game too long (like Miami last week). Sometimes during games they get very ground and pound, let's not risk turnovers, etc... Maybe. Maybe not. Look at the Lions and Ravens game. Lions were running the ball EVERY first down early on, and getting no yards. But they kept at it and by the mid 2nd quarter they were gashing the Ravens for huge gains on every down, including first. Its a philosophy. You may not like it, or agree with it, but it is football 101. I don't think its so much as not risking turnovers as it is imposing your will on the opponent and wearing them down. It works. How games unfold, game script, is very real, and some games you will lean on that run, and sometimes you will lean into the pass. Its been 3 games, we have no clue what this offense will be (other than a chameleon that can beat you any way it decides). Edited Thursday at 12:10 PM by PaattMaann 3 1 1 Quote

What kind of high bar is year 1 Josh Allen in his 1st 3 games? Even he admitted he didn't know what he was doing as a QB then. He said it wasn't until the Houston game where he got injured on a pass to Benjamin that he "got it" in terms of reading defenses. Edited Thursday at 12:30 PM by PoundingDog 1 Quote
