Yes, El Cerrito, CA which isn't too far from me. The Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta is an interesting place... When I lived in WNY I used to say that some parts of North Collins aren't that different than some parts of North Carolina. 1 1 Quote

The ones from Nassau County are particularly obnoxious. Culturally they're confused in that they've become so self-parodic that they don't even know how to act... they're like caricatures lampooning as stereotypes... self-perpetuating satires... they're mockeries of real New Yorkers in the same way that Orcs are bastardizations of Elves. 😆 I'm exaggerating a bit of course... one of my dearest friends is a Nassau County Long Islander. The Bills and Dolphins have met in the playoffs recently and they did battle for the division on that final game of the year in Miami not that long ago. The problem with the Bills and Jets rivalry is both teams are rarely good at the same time. Only one playoff game between them and that was the 1981 WC game at Shea. Quote
SoTier Posted September 11 Posted September 11 The Jests are annoying pests rather than true rivals, primarily because except for the years under Parcells in the late 1990s and then Ryan for a couple of seasons, they've been pretty pathetic for pretty much the last four decades. As others have posted, their fans OTOH, are easy to hate. Quote
NoHuddleKelly12 Posted September 11 Posted September 11 Whilst never worried about them threatening to take the division away from us, I do have a healthy respect for the difficulties they’ve presented on defense against us, always seems to be an ugly slugfest and I just want to make sure we get out of this one injury-free. So yes, a rivalry in that sense for sure. 1 Quote

I am keeping this in the division, so I am not counting the Chiefs or Ravens who are right now the Bills top conference rivals. Older Bills fans who remember the 70's and the 20-game losing streak as well as the battles with Kelly-Marino would list the Dolphins as the #1 rival. Younger fans would probably have the Pats #1 because of all of the losses (many were blowout losses) during the Bill and Tom era. 1 1 Quote

I lived in NYC for a number of years of years, also spent summers and then lived for a few years in the Hamptons. New Yorkers have a right to love that City, it is a microcosm of who we are. The Borough of Queens is the most diverse place on the planet. When I first moved to NYC a Cab driver asked me how long I’d been in New York, I told him a few months, he said “when you’ve lived here for six months you’re a New Yorker, welcome to The City, good luck.” Today especially, fandom aside, let’s show some love and respect. 1 1 Quote
SoMAn Posted September 11 Posted September 11 2 hours ago, T.E. said: Their fans are, by far, the worst of any team in the division, so there's that. When you meet NYers/people from NJ, you can usually tell who they root for by their personality: Classy, friendly = Giants fan Obnoxious, douchebaggy = Jets fan That stereotype almost never fails. I don't usually feel animosity or hate towards public figures or others whom I only know through media, but I'd like to hit that obnoxious A hole Fireman Ed with a water hose from a hydrant and then run him over with the ladder truck. Nothing wrong with being an enthusiastic fan, but that guy gives off a vibe like he wants the whole stadium crowd to focus on him and his massive ego. Such a D-bag. The way he carries on, you'd think the Jets, (winners of a grand total of 3 division titles since the AFL-NFL merger, 55 seasons!), were some celebrated juggernaut with a trophy case full of Lombardis. F him. 1 Quote
Livinginthepast Posted September 11 Posted September 11 I never really hated the Jets as a Bills rival. That was always Miami until the Pats eclipsed them for 20 years. There have been a few games vs the Jets that have peaked my disgust at them (or at the Bills for losing to them). One of them was this one from 2002 when we got to see Eddie Robinson get faked out of his shoes by Chad Pennington (which basically signaled the end of him as a quality player). The second was the JP Losman fumble and return for a TD in 2008 which also epitomized his career in Buffalo. Its nice that the Bills success has made the drought years debacles fade away! 1 Quote
US Egg Posted September 11 Posted September 11 It was Joe "Willie" Namath who really opened my kid eyes to the excitement of the NFL. Guess that makes me a bit of a Jets fan 1 Quote

But it seems historically only the early 80s and late 90s are the times they were good at the same time. The 81 Playoff game the only post season match up. They haven’t exactly been much a threat during the Josh Allen era. Even in the Super Bowl years the Bills won something like 12 games in a row against them. It was like a huge deal for the Jets when they beat them in 92’ I think to break that streak. The week after the Dennis Byrd incident. Historically the Bills have had more success vs the Jets then Miami and New England I grew up in Rochester, but spent the other half of my life in NYC and the tristate. The Jets were absolutely my most hated rival only because I had to deal with their fans on the daily. Since they sucked it’s been kind of hard to hate them. Sometimes I’ll even catch myself rooting for them just because I know what it’s like being a fan of such a dysfunctional franchise. Currently, I look at the other top AFC teams as the biggest competition. Chiefs are number 1 by a landslide followed by Ravens and Bengals. 2 Quote
