I might not be completely sold on McCarthy, but I agree that Williams seems to be a lost cause as franchise QB.

Caleb Williams doesn’t give Ben Johnson much to work with, but I can’t say I’m impressed with his first game as HC. I haven’t seen any of this genius creativity, and he’s been out coached.

So O’Connell has enough confidence in McCarthy to throw in play-action calls even when the Vikings are running the ball well and trying to melt the clock…

Just was going to post the same thing. He got so much hype for a couple of years now. Just because you are a respected playcaller doesn't necessarily mean you will be a good head coach. I'm getting Mike McDaniels vibes already.
